This is so cool. After you book a hotel of your choice, TripRebel searches for price reductions of your booked hotel room every single day. Every time your hotel price drops, you get a 100% refund of the difference. Fully automatic. WHAT

@bramk Just commented on the wrong place... here again :) "Hi Bram, thnaks a lot for posting TripRebel on ProductHunt! This is really really awesome! We are travel freaks and are out there to make the life of our fellow travellers easier. If you have any questions, just let me know!"

The very cool website works like a charm. Great for consumers - but how will hotel owners make money if you cut all their margins?
Carlos Borges
@bartvanpoll Hi Bart, we believe in transparency and fair market competition. The hotel has full control of its price policy, so if they are reducing their prices in the market is because they are able to cope with it. We believe consumers should pay dependent on demand and supply and not dependent on when they happen to be online and pressed the "book" button. First meta-search killed the price difference between hotel providers... now we are pushing transparency to the next level. Will you join the rebellion? :)

This is a very cool concept. Is it possible to be done with airlines? Could've used something similar this past weekend for my flight. :)
Carlos Borges
@headhanchoarod Hi Alex, we are now focusing on hotel prices... airlines might come next. Try out flyr, they are tackling the flight price fluctuation issue. We would love to have you as a customer next time around.

Just made my first booking. It was a whole $2 more than what I could have paid through Kayak, but hey, I'll give ya a shot ;) Was kind of annoying that I couldn't automatically enter in my info from Chrome (e.g., Name, Email, Credit Card, etc.). I almost bounced since I thought I left my plastic at the office but found it and stayed the course. Anyways, hoping for a good experience. Cool, fun photo on the confirmation page.

Anuj Adhiya
Is there any advantage to using this over http://www.tingo.com/?
Carlos Borges
@AnujAdhiya currently our offer is similar to Tingo but more focused on the European Market. However we are working on some crazy new features that will blow your mind :)...
Nikita Korotaev
Curious how it technically works. Who pays the refund?
Carlos Borges
@nikitakorotaev Hi Nikita, we developed a search algorithm the match your exact booking with new offers in the market. Once we find a better one we just exchange your booking... the algorithm is quite complex to make sure we are not changing you to a rather worst rate... hotel rates are notoriously complex. Try it out and let me know what you think. Cheers
Bryan Postelnek
OMG. This is needed for airlines too.
Carlos Borges
@BryanPostelnek oooooohhhhh yeeeessss! We will crack that nut in the future as well! I just tried to book a flight to Brazil in the last 3 days and couldn't do it as prices were changing on a hourly base... not much different with hotels though...
Carlos Borges
@bramk they are quite cool! The only thing is that it works kind of like an insurance policy and only for a limited time (I think 7 days). Did you already give it a try? I should do it for my flight to Brazil...
Bram Kanstein (@bramk)
@cbgf I think they're only doing continental US right now, not international flights yet. They've switched a little in their proposition. Endgame = you book a flight at $xxx (most common AVERAGE price based on algorithm). THE TICKET IS NOT BOUGHT YET. Flyr relies on their algorithm to buy the actual ticket at a LOWER price. Then you split the difference in $ with flyr and get a cheaper ticket :)
Carlos Borges
@bramk Nice!!!! Smart idea...
Juan Buis
Cool product. It's just that I've never booked a hotel after AirBNB.
Bram Kanstein (@bramk)
@juanbuis true, still think this is a great tool for a lot of people. You don't ALWAYS book AirBnB I think
Carlos Borges
@juanbuis thanks Juan. We would love to help you with your accommodation the next time around.

Really cool!!!
