Hi Product Hunt! 👋

The dilemma of the AI era? So many tools promise “magic” but end up slowing you down.

We’re a small team that wanted to move fast and get things done without chaos.

We tried them all… and fell into the same trap.

Most AI calendars and productivity apps:

  1. Too many features, not enough focus. Habit trackers, journals, mood boards… when all you needed was a calendar.

  2. Sloppy AI. Wrong guesses, endless re-dos — more time correcting than creating.

  3. Catfished by “AI.” Marketed as smart, but in reality it’s the same old manual forms or the “real” AI is locked behind a paywall.

We got frustrated too, drowning in extras, fixing AI’s mistakes, and wasting time on fake promises.

So we built the opposite → Trace.

  • ✅ AI that actually works. Say "Project review with team, find 2-hour slot before Friday" → boom, scheduled.

  • ✅ Voice, text, screenshot → instant planning that just flows.

  • ✅ No bloat, no confusion — just the calendar that thinks with you.

Now 2,000+ busy professionals — engineers, founders, and working parents — use Trace every day. People who don’t have time for planning, but need planning the most.

One user summed it up:

“Finally found the one — simple, fast, and effortless. I’ve tried so many AI scheduling apps, but Trace is the only one that felt right.”

Mohsin Ali

@trace__jaeho Solid!

how does trace handle conflicts when two people are free at different times?

Jaeho Chung

@mohsinproduct We don't currently offer shared calendars, but Trace can definitely help with coordination! You can tell Trace something like "My friend is free at these times - can you check my calendar and find when we can both meet?" and it'll suggest the best overlapping slots. Makes scheduling with others much less of a headache!

Nastassia

@trace__jaeho lovely move with a shortcuts, really useful

Jaeho Chung

@nastassia_k Thanks! Yeah, one of our favorite user behaviors is people using the iPhone action button to trigger the shortcut and just snap a photo to add events. It's so seamless!

Subin Baek

@trace__jaeho  @nastassia_k Thanks Natassia! We tried to make Trace hassle-free as possible hope you enjoy all the features!

Nika

Hey team, it reminded me of some features that @zaczuo created, so I think you got a good partner for hunting! :) I have a question regarding planning. How the app takes into account events that can be held in parallel. E.g. picking up kids from the school/watching their recital, and a Soccer match on TV, does it also have any prioritisation points?

Jaeho Chung

@zaczuo  @busmark_w_nika Great question! Since Trace is LLM-powered, it already considers context when saving events - so it's aware of potential conflicts like your example. Right now we're being thoughtful about not being too aggressive with automatic changes (users can feel uncomfortable with that), but it does help when you specifically ask for guidance on overlapping events.

More proactive conflict management is definitely on our roadmap!

Nika

@zaczuo  @trace__jaeho Good news is we can edit it so still can control the schedule on our own :)

Jaeho Chung

@busmark_w_nika Exactly! We want to be helpful without taking away your control 😊

Ran Luo

Would love to try Trace! I've been looking for a tool that simplifies planning—this sounds exactly what I need.

Jaeho Chung

@ransixi Thanks so much! We built Trace to strip out the busywork and keep planning clear. Hope it really lightens the load for you—let me know how it goes!

Zac Zuo
Hunter

As the one who is also building in the personal AI productivity space, I've been following the Trace team's journey with a lot of interest.

Because of our shared space, I'm incredibly impressed with the interaction innovations they've built into their product. They have cleverly integrated the potential of voice and multimodal inputs to truly empower personal efficiency.

Using Trace felt both familiar and surprising in the best way possible. It's an absolutely delightful and smooth user experience.

Amazing work, team!

Jaeho Chung

@zaczuo Thanks so much for this review! 🙏

It means a lot to hear this from a fellow maker in the AI productivity space, especially your kind words about Trace's voice and multimodal features.

Thanks for taking the time to really dig into what we built!

Subin Baek

@zaczuo Zac, we can’t thank you enough 🙏

Your support and kindness made a huge difference as we prepared for our very first launch. And honestly, Flowtica has been a big inspiration for us too.

We feel lucky to be building in the same space alongside you. Excited to keep learning from each other and pushing what AI productivity can become 🚀

Shahriar Hasan

Very unique idea. Take love & respect.

Jaeho Chung

@shahriardgm Much appreciated! Thank you for the kind words 🙏

Cruise Chen

wow it seems useful for handling all those schedule hassles... just curious - how would it manage multimodal data& input from different apps and sources? I usually feel messy and painful for migrating.

Jaeho Chung

@cruise_chen Thanks for the question! Just to make sure I understand - you're asking about handling different data types and integrating various apps, right? Please correct me if I'm off!I think this is where LLMs excel. Since LLM APIs natively support both text and image inputs, we're using that to create the most natural UX possible. For other services like Google Calendar, we pull data that's already synced with Apple's native Calendar into Trace. Most calendar apps support integration APIs, so we haven't hit major obstacles. The goal is making migration as seamless as possible!

Nicole Astor

Hahhhh, I'm actually a very organzied person, but I really love being able to create a to-do just by saying a few words on my watch. This is awesome, big thumbs up to your team! @Trace

Jaeho Chung

@nicoleastor Thank you so much! That's exactly what we were going for - making it effortless even for organized people like yourself. Thanks for the support! 🙌

Jaber Jaber

i hate planning, gimme this

Jaber Jaber

while im an INTJ

Jaeho Chung

@jaber23 You're our target user! Planning pain is real - hope this makes it way less awful for you.

Shiva Pundir

Can it connect to multiple calendars at once? Many people use Google, Outlook, or other calendar apps on the same device, and meetings from different sources often get added there.

Subin Baek

@shivapundir Hey Shiva, that's a great question. If your calendars, such as Google and Outlook, are integrated with Apple Calendar, you can use them all on Trace.

Ash Grover

Congrats on the launch!

I really like the overall design of the app, it’s very clean and intuitive.

My only note is that you’ll face strong competition from built-in AI on phones as they get smarter, which could happen sooner than expected. The challenge will be convincing users why they should continue using Trace instead of relying on the native AI functionality that may eventually do the same tasks.

Otherwise, great work on the product!

Jaeho Chung

@ash_grover Thanks for checking out Trace! You're absolutely right about the native AI competition - that's been our main concern since day one. I think it'll come down to the details and reducing friction. We'll do our best to stay competitive!

Germán Merlo
Hey Jaeho! I’m one of those who hates planning and I’m sure it can help us a lot, saving time and energy. Happy to see you on that and wish you all the best!
Jaeho Chung

@german_merlo1 Thanks for the kind words! 🙏

Yeah, planning can be such a pain - that's exactly why we built Trace. Hope it saves you tons of time and energy!

love this interface.

Jaeho Chung

@bigmacfive Thank you! We focused on keeping it clean and straightforward.

Jason

Great launch!

I really like the “plan without the pain” concept. Do you see Trace working more as a personal tool, or do you plan to expand it for teams in the future?

Jaeho Chung

@jason123 Thanks! We're starting with personal to nail the 'plan without the pain' experience first.

Teams are definitely on the roadmap though. The coordination pain is even worse than personal planning!

Dan Pole

Wow, interesting product! Congratulations on the launch 🔥

Jaeho Chung

@danpole Thank you so much for the kind words! Really appreciate you taking the time to check out Trace and for the support 🙏

Alexandru Rada

looks promising! good luck
I'd use a bit more calm colors, those look a bit too strong (at least for me)

(from a fellow product owner who works on ActorDo)

Jaeho Chung

@alxrda Thanks for the feedback!

You're right about the colors - we're definitely looking into more theme options to accommodate different preferences. Thanks for taking the time!

Ana Robakidze

I need this :D

Jaeho Chung

@ana_robakidze Appreciate it! Hope it makes things easier.

Subin Baek

@ana_robakidze Thanks please enjoy Trace :) would love to hear your experience!

Sidra Arif

Congrats on the launch! 🎉 I’ve always hated planning—especially sitting there adding everything to my calendar by hand. Trace looks like exactly what I’ve wanted: say it once in a voice note and it’s scheduled. Can’t wait to try it! 🚀

Jaeho Chung

@sidraarifali Thank you! Yeah, we got so tired of that endless calendar data entry too.

Really curious to hear what you think of the voice scheduling!

Sidra Arif

@trace__jaeho Have not tried voice scheduling yet. But when I chat to create a meeting or task it shows me week name in some other language and there is no option to change that as well.

Jaeho Chung

@sidraarifali Thanks for flagging this 🙏 It does seem like a localization issue on our side — sorry about that, we’ll fix it soon! Could you share a bit more detail? For example, did you notice it after the event was created on the card, or already in the preview while entering it?

Jaeho Chung

@sidraarifali We just dug into it and found the cause — it happens when using custom repeat settings. We’re already working on a fix right now, so this should be resolved very soon. Really appreciate you catching this!

Lisa Kim

This is what I needed. Good to see a 30% OFF annual plan. Although a lot of these AI tools I've used are good quality, it's my problem that I can't get into the habit of using them everyday.

Jaeho Chung

@l2sakim Thanks for checking it out! Totally agree - building that daily habit is one of the biggest challenges. We've been focusing on this with Trace recently. I think the issue is often that AI tools feel like "show-off" features rather than seamlessly blending into your workflow. We're trying to balance automation with LLM benefits without making the AI too obvious, so it feels natural rather than an extra step to remember.

vivek sharma

Just send a message, voice note, or screenshot and your schedule builds itself. No forms, no fiddling, just instant clarity. Finally, a calendar that works for you.

Subin Baek

@vivek_sharma_25 You nailed it! That's what we aimed for!

Farhan Nazir

Really love this product but i have a question when two people are from different regions how that product will help in parallel for two different regions ? @trace__jaeho
