Thanks everyone for the support ❤️
We're the team that built UserTesting (IPO in 2021), and now we're back with TheySaid to topple the survey + forms category with AI. We're not your grandpa's survey tool, not even close.
With TheySaid, users give feedback while chatting with AI, which gives you 10x more insights. The insights you need to:
Improve on product market fit
Stay close to customer needs and pain points
Iterate on pricing
Improve the quality of your product
Catch disengaged employees early
TheySaid 2.0 brings SO MANY new features based on your feedback. Here are the highlights:
Tell us what you want to learn, AI will create your project for you
Control how AI asks follow ups while users answer your questions
Take action in real time with AI-generated action items
Analyze themes and insights across all of your responses
Theysaid
@chrishicken @masump Yes. you have full control of what questions to ask, how AI will ask dynamic follow up questions.

@chrishicken wow this is genius! been waiting for something like this forever 😍 finally an AI that actually understands human conversations 😂 wayyy better than those boring typeform surveys we've been forcing on users. as PM, can already imagine using TheySaid for customer interviews - our team spends hours trying to decode flat survey responses. grats on launch team! cant wait to see how this evolves 👏
@chrishicken That's a remarkable application of generative AI!, Congrats on the launch
@dineshan_sithamparanathan thank you, really appreciate your support 💛
@stainlu thanks really appreciate the support. Yeah I think there will always be a place for forms, kind of like there's always been a place for polaroid pictures and film cameras. But most feedback in the future will be gathered with AI.
This looks very promising to me. I need to try it ASAP and implement it across my businesses. Thanks for coming up with this.

@trumpeter we would love that Peter! We are eating our own dogfood and have had success with screening interviews for hiring, collecting feedback on our onboarding experience, on our website and event at events. Can't wait to hear your thoughts after you've tried it, and thank you for your support!

Very interesting usecase to help new age companies get more qualitative feedback on what they are building. - Balaji Team @Layerpath
@balaji_rao1 thank you, appreciate the support ❤️
And you're exactly right, we help companies collect real qualitative feedback, at scale!
Interesting approach! But how scalable is this for large enterprises with 10k+ users?
Theysaid
@jackson_wells At scale is the name of the game! We combine the scalability of surveys with the deep insights of 1:1 interviews, making it possible to get qualitative insights at scale for the first time.
AI doesn’t just collect the data—it processes and prioritizes insights, ensuring large enterprises can take action efficiently. Appreciate your thoughtful question!
@jackson_wells I'll add that we also let you create separate (but connected) organizations within your TheySaid account. So for example Product, Marketing, HR, Sales, and Customer Success can all have a separate accounts but connected together for easy switching between teams.
Congratulations to TheySaid on launching on Product Hunt! You're transforming the way user feedback is collected.
A couple of questions:
1. Do you have plans to bring TheySaid to a mobile app?
2. I noticed that when trying to use the platform, entering a company URL is required. However, many early-stage startups or non-internet-related businesses might not have a website. How can they get started with TheySaid?
@marin_artisk thanks for your note, here are answers to your questions:
We will probably do a mobile app in the future, but since we send AI conversations to so many people, the most important canvas for us is mobile web (which we support today).
You can use any url to get started, it doesn't have to be your website. For example, it could be a Google Doc or even just Google.com. Our AI will use that URL for context when chatting with your users.
Theysaid
Thanks Marina@marin_artisk for the great questions and for your support!
No immediate plans for a mobile app but would love to learn more about your thoughts there.
Today you can put some info about your business in a Google Doc and share a URL to your file - and we'll use that information as context. Very soon you'll be able to upload a doc directly or enter a description about your organization to give the AI assistant context if you don't have a website.
@amy_long_ts Thank you very much for your patient reply, I understand now and I hope your product will be a big success!
@chrishicken Thank you for the detailed explanation, it is so nice that your team paying attention to the users, I'm sure your product will be loved!
This is so cool! How does AI handle niche industries like healthcare or gaming? The employee disengagement feature is a thoughtful touch.
Theysaid
@samuel_kahlo This is where TheySaid truly shines! Our AI can be trained for your specific industry and business, ensuring it asks the right questions and engages your audience just like a well-trained team member. just add your company URL and upload training docs when you first sign up TheySaid.
Glad you liked the employee disengagement detection feature! Catching early warning signs helps teams take action before issues escalate. Appreciate your thoughtful feedback!

AI conversations are the future!
@denisss yessssss!! And just think of all the cool ways it will evolve beyond voice. AI video conversations? AI AR/VR conversations? So much cool stuff to come.

@chrishicken I'm so glad to be living in this era—what we're doing right now is absolutely insane!
Glad there aren't any more soul-draining forms...literally the bane of my existence - Love the fact that users can share real insights, everyone knows that feedback is king is the SaaS game too!
This is gonna be revolutionising for customer experience & product research.
Huge congrats on the launch team - I'm excited to see this in action!
@cranqnow most people think of Surveys and Interviews for research, but I'm glad you product up product research. TheySaid is also awesome for user tests, especially BEFORE the product is launched. Just upload images of your prototype or Figma and ask users where they'd click to accomplish tasks, feedback on the UI, or what features are missing.
@alan_rivera awesome Alan, give me a holler if you need any help.
Theysaid
@alan_rivera We've made it super easy to create surveys, just enter what you want to learn from your users and our AI assistant will create and configure your questions! Best of luck with you launch, and thanks for the support!

@stainlu appreciate the support. This product has evolved with community feedback so we'd love to hear your thoughts on where you want AI analysis to go in the future.

Looks like a sophisticated solution, good work!
@konrad_sx thanks for the support. Yeah we're on the cutting edge with the way we're deploying agents, RAG, etc.
Theysaid
@konrad_sx Thanks for your support! While TheySaid does provide detailed qualitative insights, it's one of the easiest apps to use since you have an AI assistant built in
Congrats on the launch of TheySaid 2.0! Excited to see how it revolutionizes user feedback with AI.
Theysaid
Thanks for your support@mikita_aliaksandrovich ! Give it a try and let us know what you think : )
@mikita_aliaksandrovich appreciate your support 🩵. I think there's still a lot more cool stuff coming from AI for feedback too.
Definitely a dusty space that required some innovation! Really epic product, would love to try it soon.
How do you ensure the data reliability across different users/customers. In other words: How does the tool ensure all users get the same question in order to be able to draw a valid conclusion?
@didiervanh the way TheySaid works, you provide the primary questions that you want AI to ask, and the order you want to ask those questions in. Then you can enable or disable AI follow up questions that probe deeper. Ultimately, YOU are in total control of the conversation and it also ensures the data is consistent across users.
Theysaid
@didiervanh we appreciate your support and couldn't agree more!
You have full control over the questions to ask your audience with a programmed cadence of questions and our AI assistant will ask contextually appropriate follow up questions to each. The insights collected from these are aggregated into themes and we'll point out which responses support each theme so you can easily connect the dots and draw conclusions. We'll even give you a list of follow up actions to take from each response. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
@amy_long_ts That's brilliant! I'll definitely try it out! thank you for your fast replies as well. Will continue to follow you :)
This looks like a game-changer for understanding customer feedback! Does it support sentiment analysis across multiple languages?
@sofiia_kunakh yes it does, and additionally the AI will switch languages during the conversation if the user prefers a different language.
Theysaid
@sofiia_kunakh absolutely, our AI assistant automatically recognizes which language you're responding in and takes the conversation there.
What happens if users keep giving vague answers?
Does the AI have a follow-up limit?
And is there an option to export chat data?
Theysaid
@emma_campbell3 Yes, AI does have a follow up limit which is preset by you when you first created the AI survey/Interview.
Option to export chat data is available in our chat plan. But even in the free plan, you can easily copy the conversation link and share.
RODcast
What if users could see how their feedback compares to industry standards? For instance, showing a stat like 'Your onboarding flow ranks in the top 15% for SaaS tools' could offer valuable context. To keep participants motivated, adding gamification elements like badges or progress milestones could turn feedback collection into a more dynamic experience.
Theysaid
@m_anees This is the kind of cool ideas we are looking for! Brilliant to bring in Industry benchmark and gamification in one. Keep it coming!
AI-driven action items are impressive, but I’m cautious about automation without human checks as a researcher. How much oversight is built in? Context matters, and without it, teams could be misled. Great potential but needs guardrails.
Theysaid
@elijah_harris Great point! While AI automates action items, we keep humans in the loop to ensure context and accuracy. Users can review, edit, and prioritize AI-suggested actions before implementing them, preventing misinterpretations.
We believe AI should enhance decision-making, not replace it—context matters, and we’re focused on building the right guardrails. Appreciate your thoughtful feedback!
@elijah_harris I'll add to LIhong's comment that you also get to control when AI follows up, and how much follow up it's allowed to do. You retain control and you can also test all your interviews and surveys before they go to users, so you know exactly what the experience is like.
This could be huge for early-stage startups figuring out product-market fit!
Theysaid
@edith_christian indeed. Instead of guessing or do those expensive manual market research, founders can get real-time, AI driven quantitative and qualitative insights on what customers truly want= helping them iterate faster and make data-backed decidisons.
We are eating our own dog food, that is why we are able to iterate so fast, and push out TheySaid 2.0 in under 5 months. 3.0 and 4.0 is also at work and coming out soon.
@edith_christian I'll add to this that we've introduced a Product Market Fit score that we call CPV (Customer Perceived Value). It asks questions about the 4 core components of Product Market Fit:
Problem - are you solving a problem that matters?
Product - does the product solve the customers problem?
Pricing - is the pricing easy to justify?
People - are the people you interact with helpful (sales, support, success, services)?
So TheySaid can be used as a fantastic way to figure out where exactly Product Market Fit needs to be improved.
Very cool idea! We always struggled having to manage multiple versions of surveys depending on people's responses. It quickly branched out to be a decision-tree monster ;)
@alex_bluelemons quick question for you: what types of "branches" do you typically use?
@chrishicken Will check with our research team and get back to you :)

@lihong_hicken @arnab_karmakar1 @amy_long_ts The idea of moving beyond traditional surveys to conversational AI-driven feedback is super compelling. One big issue with typical surveys is that responses are often shallow or forced into predefined boxes, whereas AI-driven conversations could capture deeper insights in a more natural way.
@kui_jason thanks, and yes you totally get it. AI conversations allow for personalized, deep insights for each person.

@chrishicken It's a great project, thank you.
