The Greetings
A big hello to all Product Hunters out there! π My name is Tiago and I'm the CEO of TheLibrarian.io. We're really excited to make our debut in Product Hunt and hope that you will give our WhatsApp AI Assistant a try. Also looking forward to reply to any questions or feedback, even if negative, as that's the only way we can improve.
The Pain
I'm someone who hates inefficiencies, so I was blown away when I came across research by IDC and McKinsey where it was concluded that professionals spend ~60% of their work week in peripheral tasks (eg Email, Searching for Info, Scheduling / Attending Meetings) leaving only ~40% for Role-specific Tasks.
The Solution
So my Team and I took the challenge of changing the status quo. After almost a year of very hard work, we're proud to introduce TheLibrarian.io to the world. It's a ππ‘πππ¬ππ©π© ππ ππ¬π¬π’π¬πππ§π designed to help you Master Your Inbox, Control Your Schedule, and Find Anything You Need - so you can focus on what truly matters.
It seamlessly integrates with all your ππ¨π¨π π₯π ππ©π©π¬ (ππ¦ππ’π₯, ππ«π’π―π, πππ₯ππ§πππ«, ππ¨π§πππππ¬), ππ₯πππ€, ππ§π ππ¨ππ’π¨π§ with Apple and Microsoft coming soon, driven by user demand.
The Features
TheLibrarian.io does much more than sending emails, scheduling meetings, or retrieving files and messages, but here are some of the things our users love and cannot live without:
1. Morning Briefs: start your day with a clear, concise overview of whatβs ahead. Your meetings, tasks, and prioritiesβall in one place.
2. Voice Commands: whether youβre driving or walking, simply tap the mic button on WhatsApp and dictate your instructions.
3. Memories & Facts: it remembers everything about you, from your home to the office addresses, default Zoom link, email signature, and more.
The Pricing
TheLibrarian.io is 100% free to use with some Advanced Premium features (eg multiple accounts, customised email signatures) planned for later this year.
The Security
We're Google CASA Certified with robust data encryption (both in transit and at rest) and stringent privacy controls to protect all user interactions and data. More info available here.
The Feedback
When building a new tool, embracing all feedback, even the negative, is essential. So please do not hesitate to leave a comment here or, if you prefer, to send an email to support@thelibrarian.io - we would love to hear from you!
AI Launchpad
Hey PH fam π
I'm super excited to introduce TheLibrarian to the global product and founder community today! π
Ever feel like you're drowning in emails, calendar chaos, and endless document searches?
Enter TheLibrarian: A WhatsApp AI Assistant that transforms how you interact with your digital world, putting everything you need just a message away! π±
What makes it special:
β Dead simple interface - it's just WhatsApp, which you already use
β Powerful AI that understands context across your apps
β Morning briefs that eliminate the "what's on my calendar today?" scramble
β Free to use for core functionality (this is HUGE!)
I recently got a demo of the product and loved how seamless it was! The ability to handle emails, find files, and manage my calendar through simple chat commands without opening multiple apps is a game-changer.
The team led by @tiago_alves5 brings the perfect mix of AI expertise and workflow optimization, with a strong focus on security and user privacy.
Simply put, The Librarian feels like having a personal executive assistant in your pocket!
Check it out and drop your thoughts below β¬οΈ The entire team is here today ready to answer your questions and gather feedback!ββββββββββββββββ
@thisiskp_ thank you KP, I think you have captured really well the essence of what TheLibrarian.io is all about. and yeah, the team and I will be around all day to reply to any questions or feedback you may have! π
why no pricing page, team @TheLibrarian.io ?
@taniabell Hi Tania, we could not push it on time, sorry. I hope you don't mind that I share the mockup with you here and maybe you will have some feedback? π
@tiago_alves5 right, cool.
it feels super intrusive tbh, I'd have to give your tool access to very person stuff. don't feel comfortable with that tbh
@taniabell I totally understand Tania. I know users are fine to store everything with bigger companies like Apple and Google but not with us who are just a small startup. It's one of the challenges we will have to overcome. Having said that, you don't need to give access to anything you don't feel comfortable with and I do have many users that only connect their Google Calendar. Finally, sharing one slide that I use during my Onboarding Calls to explain the measures we have around Security and Privacy: π
@tiago_alves5 cool. thanks for sharing this slide

Interesting! My inbox and schedule are always chaotic. An AI assistant right in WhatsApp to tackle that sounds promising. Excited to see how it works.
@ebloom19 Thanks for the comment and congrats on being the 1st one to do so! π
HabitGo
Love the idea of using WhatsApp as a productivity hub! The morning briefs and voice commands sound especially useful. Excited to see how TheLibrarian evolves β congrats on the launch! π
@kui_jason thank you so much for the review. Yes, we think that WhatsApp can be a great channel to get stuff done while on the go or away from the computer without having to open any apps. Would love to have you as a user and give me some honest and constructive feedback? I have to agree that the Morning Briefs have a huge success with our users and the Voice Commands have been growing on me and I use it more and more. Even for a corner use case which is, when someone sends me a voice message on WhatsApp now I just forward it to TheLibrarian and ask it to summarise what the person said. π
Using The Librarian has truly been a game-changer for me. It helped me organize my college schedule so much better, especially love how it sends reminders directly through WhatsApp. It feels so personal and makes staying on track so much easier. I tried the feature where simply send a flyer photo via WhatsApp, and it automatically schedules the event into my Google Calendar and it worked flawlessly! Itβs so convenient and intuitive. I found out about The Librarian from an Instagram post by @belajarcarabelajar. I decided to try it, and Iβm so glad I did! Thank you The Librarian teams!
@belajarcarabelajar @kania_salsabila I'm so so glad that you've found out about us from Iwan - he is amazing at introducing AI tools and even for the post I did yesterday about our new Calendar AI Assistant I used his cal pic that he shared with me! And I also must say that the use case that you just described of just forwarding the pic with the event details to The Librarian and asking it to add the details to my calendar is something that I do all the time. Have you tried to take a pic of someone's business card and ask The Librarian to follow-up with the person via email? That's another one that I do all the time at networking events. Before I would do follow-ups once I was back at my desk but now I just do it on the spot thanks to our AI Assistant! π€π
@kania_salsabila @tiago_alves5 Thank you for the kind words, Mr. Tiago! Iβm just happy to share such an amazing platform like thelibrarian with others! Wishing you and The Librarian team continued success!
@kania_salsabila @belajarcarabelajar just realised that I can share pics here. this is the super super busy calendar from Iwan that he gave me permission to share on my post yesterday: π
Tool looks great, will definitely give it a go! Do you integrate with automation tools like n8n or Make? Congrats on the launch tho π
@hugo_pochet Hey Hugo, thanks for the comment and the question. For now we are not integrating with any of those automation tools. We've decided to actually integrate directly using the APIs from the Google Apps, Notion, Slack and of course WhatsApp. I'm curious on your opinion on that? Do you think we've done the right choice here?
@tiago_alves5 I think you might consider those options (integrate with automation tools) to create infinite workflow possibilities :) Yet, the current integrations seem super useful!
@hugo_pochet agree with you 100% so we can scale the integrations. but on the other hand, if I work with those intermediary automation integration tools (I usually call it the Zapier-type), will we then have to rely on them if we want to change something, etc? Right now whenever we want to change anything we just need to change the code on our side and it's done. And btw, really appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me. π
@tiago_alves5 Indeed, that might create some dependency on those platforms, but if you're scaling in the B2B market, you'll likely get that request often, as many teams are already used to working that way.
At the same time, opening up your tool for the community to build on top of it can be a great strategy. It not only increases engagement but also helps surface real-world use cases that you might eventually want to support natively within your product.
I appreciate that the shift from an automated to an agent-based approach has resulted in many applications leaving the "last mile" for humans instead of fully automating processes. In the video example, the Librarian found the document and drafted the email, but left the final step to a human. This approach seems to be the most effective. Great job! Best of luck with your launch!
@michael_vavilov Wow, you did watch the video carefully. And yes, you are so right. I get asked all the time why can't The Librarian just send the email or calendar invite without that middle step? And I always reply two things: (i) we still cannot trust the AI as it does mistakes all the time so we need humans to supervise whatever it drafted or did (ii) if we did not have that middle step and then something went wrong and The Librarian sent for example the wrong file which was confidential, who is the user going to blame? They're going to blame us, the ones that build the tool. Once I explain this they do understand our rational. What do you think Michael? Does it make sense for me to explain it this way? π€π€
@tiago_alves5 the first point works better imo
@michael_vavilov ok, thank you for letting me know - I'll start using that one more often as it's 100% true, ie it's an amazing brain but it does sometimes do really stupid things so you always need the human to supervise it for now! π
π Huge congrats on launching TheLibrarian.io on Product Hunt! π Your WhatsApp AI Assistant sounds like a game-changer for managing our busy lives. I love how it integrates seamlessly with Google Apps, Slack, and Notionβthis will definitely help streamline my workflow!
The Morning Briefs feature is particularly impressive; starting the day with a clear overview is something we all need. π One suggestion I have is to consider adding a feature for customizable reminders based on user preferences. This could enhance user engagement and make the tool even more personal!
Looking forward to seeing how TheLibrarian.io evolves. Keep up the great work! πͺ
@rocsheh Hey Zepeng, thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to leave us a comment. Do you mind sharing a bit more about your idea of the "customizable reminders"? Because we already support you setting up your reminders for whatever time and date? You just need to say "Send me the weather info every morning at 9am" and The Librarian will send you a WhatsApp message every day at 9am with the latest weather report. β°
@tiago_alves5 For example, more complex custom reminders, such as sending me the hottest news in the AI field at 9 AM today.
@rocsheh Interesting. So we did give The Librarian the capacity to connect directly to the Internet and retrieve information where news are included. So yes, you can try to say to The Librarian something like "Every morning at 9am go on Google News and check the past 24h for any interesting AI news and send a summary to me". Please try it and let me know how it goes? π°
For the email management aspect, could it auto-generate response drafts using contextual memory from previous Slack/Notion conversations? This would truly connect communication dots.
@desmond_ren1 Hey Desmond, thank you for your question. So I myself have a bunch of email templates in Notion and then I tell The Librarian to use and adapt them for whatever topic of the email that I'm sending out. And it does have an internal memory so even recently I had drafted something with the word 'thrilled' (which AI loves for some reason) and The Librarian removed it and told me that it had done so as I had said in the past that I didn't want to use that word. Does this address what you were asking? π§
I've been using this for about a week now, but still haven't fully explored the breadth of possibilities! I think one of the direct benefits I got out of it is the daily summary of events and tasks in the morning ("Your Morning Brief". As somebody with ADHD, it's invaluable to get direct clarity of what's ahead in the day for you. Congrats on this first step @tiago_alves5 and team! Excited for what's to come π The path for further adoption will probably be to find ways of turning "The Librarian" into a habit (as if second nature) for its users
@michael_duyvesteijn Thanks Michael, really appreciate it. Happy to hear that you see value in the Morning Briefs - many users tell me the same thing. And you're right, changing habits is not easy and one of the things that happens to me a lot is a user saying "I wish The Librarian could do XYZ" and then me telling them "Have you tried to ask it to do it?" and then they asking and being like "Oh, it did it!". LOL π
@michael_duyvesteijn Thank you Michael and agree that the Morning Briefs can be super powerful. I've had users tell me that thanks to that message in the morning they (i) did not miss their plane (ii) were not late paying their credit card and (iii) filled their taxes on time! π°οΈ
Whoa, this is SO coolβnow everyone can have their own AI sidekick! π€β¨ The demo video is slick, and I love how it just gets things done without the clutter. That document retrieving feature? Absolute game-changerβno more digging through folders like an archaeologist. Finally, an assistant that actually frees up brain space instead of adding more tabs to my chaos. Huge congrats on the launchβThe Librarian is about to become everyoneβs MVP! ππ
@rani_zagita Dear Zagita, really appreciate the kind words and so happy that you liked the video. It was someone I know here in Singapore that helped me do it and he did such an amazing job so I always recommend him to other startups that need good quality intro videos. I do hope you become a user and give us feedback on how we can improve it even further. π€©
@tiago_alves5 Absolutely, I'm trying it on my Whatsapp since I used it most. I'll write back to you if I find something worth fixing.
@rani_zagita Yes, was checking the data the other day and there are 3 Bn WhatsApp users worldwide! Can you believe that? And yes, if you find any bug please do share it with me asap. Thank you! π
@german_merlo1 Hi German, yeah, I also think WhatsApp will become much more than just a place to chat with family & friends. I think it will become a place where you can get work done (eg reply to emails), make sure you don't miss anything (eg reminders), and access any info you need (eg files). And as a Founder, I think The Librarian is really useful to me to stay as productive as I can. π
This is seriously cool, @tiago_alves5 ! As someone who's always looking for ways to simplify and streamline my day, TheLibrarian.io sounds like exactly what I need. I can totally relate to the struggle of being buried under a mountain of emails, meetings, and tasks that aren't even part of my core job. The way TheLibrarian integrates with Google Apps and Slack is so smart, and I love that itβs all accessible through WhatsApp - feels like itβs made for the way we actually work.
The morning briefs and voice commands are such a game-changer, especially for those hectic days when everything is in motion. Definitely looking forward to trying it out! Keep up the awesome work, and Iβll be sure to share my feedback once I dive in!
@ambika_vaish Hi Ambika, thank you so much for the detailed comment / review. Yes, I also think it's a pretty cool Assistant but I'm biased as I'm part of the team. And yes, once you have explored it for a while please do not hesitate to reach out to me and give me some feedback. The tool is what it is today thanks to our first users that gave us tons of feedback which I'm really thankful for! π
I like how it unifies tasks in WhatsApp! π
@shenjun yes, that's the idea. so if you're in Gmail it's normal that you will use Gemini as it's just there. but if you're on the go and chatting with someone on WhatsApp then it's just easier to get things done from a single entry point, ie you can send an email, schedule a meeting or retrieve a file just from chatting with The Librarian on WhatsApp instead of having to jump to Gmail, GCal, GDrive. π―
@tiago_alves5 Very agreed, This also reduces the traction between app switch.
@shenjun correct, and I envision a future where all we have is an AI interface and that's where you make your requests and for the user it doesn't matter what is the App running behind the scenes executing the task. π€
Currents AI
@jennieweng Hi Jennie, thank you for reaching out and for your question. We do have the Slack integration but our users gave us the feedback that they prefer to use Slack when they are on their computers but on the go they prefer to use WhatsApp. π¬
Currents AI
@jennieweng thank you for asking! please do let me know if any further questions or feedback. π
Raijin.ai
Hi @tiago_alves5 - I use WhatsApp alot so I'm wondering how easy is it to setup Librarian and also what do you think are the top 3 things I can use Librarian's WhatsApp function for?
@caleb_k Hey Caleb, really appreciate the questions! So, we've decided to go with WhatsApp because it's used by 3Bn people all over the world and after our first MVP so many users asked us to add it as one of the Apps that we integrate with. Today it's already super easy to create an account with The Librarian using your Google Login and then immediately connect your WhatsApp. Now, it's still being tested but we're making this even easier soon where you can just send a WhatsApp message to our phone number and boom, you've created an account and can start chatting with The Librarian immediately (stay tune for the announcement). For the Top 3 things, I'm biased, but I would say our Morning Briefs (overview of your day ahead), Scheduling Events (I don't open my Gcal anymore) and Networking Follow-ups (where I just snap a pic of someone's biz card and ask The Librarian to send an email on the spot). πππ
MailMaestro
This is cool!! I use WhatsApp all the time and can definitely see myself using this all day.
@adrian_mailmaestro Hey Adrian, thank you for your comment. Yes, WhatsApp is super popular so it made sense for us to focus on it as our main interface. π¬
Biteme: Calorie Calculator
Congrats on the launch!
@dan16 Thank you Daniel, I appreciate it. If you have any questions or feedback happy to reply! πββοΈ
I have watched Librarian from it's early beginnings and it's truly a revolutionary product! Saves time on tasks for people who cannot afford their own Personal Assistant. It saved me hours of monotonous work during intense conference weeks scheduling meetings, setting up agendas, working on the go between meetings. Amazing product and I can't wait to see more from the Librarian!
@ryan_rogowski Yes Ryan, you were super important in the early days hence me even listing you as a Maker (not sure if you saw the invitation?). Some of the Features that are making us so successful are actually thanks to you! π
