Working on climate solutions is for many of us the biggest lever for climate action. But starting a climate career can be hard. Enter Terra.do - the platform and community for working in climate. As a Fellow of their VC program, Terra.do supported my climate journey which led me to found Cool Climate Collective - a syndicate for climate investors. I’m especially excited to hunt Terra.do today so they can help many more people find their path into climate work.

I was in the very first cohort of Terra.do back in the spring/summer of 2020 and have seen the team drive so much impact in terms of helping people transition into productive climate-focused work. We invested into the company's seed round via our venture fund at MCJ Collective. Terra.do was foundational to my own climate journey and helped me meet so many people who have supported me along the way.

I have been following Terra.do from the very beginning and have been amazed by the passion and energy they're bringing to the greatest challenge of our times. Fantastic work by Anshuman, Kamal and the rest of the Terra team! The planet is rooting for you.

Firstly a huge thank you to our alum @pollock for hunting us! We’re so excited to share what we’ve built with the Product Hunt community - because it speaks directly to our goal of building the world’s largest community of people working in climate. My climate journey began five years ago. I had taken my daughter snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef. She had the time of her life! But my son was too young to go in the water, and later that year, the first mass bleaching and coral die-offs happened. I realized with a shock that I’d taken for granted that the world would be a better place for my kids. The reality was that I needed to actively work to make that happen… That was when I started diving deep into conversations with smart people working in climate (including my co-founder @kamal_kapadia). I learned two things. One, there were many people like me desperate to start working in climate, but would encounter many challenges. Second, we needed to help tens of millions of people across the world make this transition. So we launched Terra.do, a global platform for learning & working in climate. Our mission? Get 100 million people working on climate solutions this decade. Two years later, we’re on our way! We’ve graduated thousands of fellows from our learning programs from over 25+ countries, and over 50% of them from the developing world. Meanwhile, we’ve seen demand skyrocketing from companies hiring for climate jobs across all sectors. So we built the Terra.do app, combining climate careers, learning, and community into a single seamless platform that allows anyone to upskill themselves, build their climate career, and join a supportive global community working on solutions. We’re just getting started and would love to have you join us on the Terra.do platform. To paraphrase, humanity’s biggest crisis is also our biggest opportunity to build a better world. I started out with Terra.do as a fellow In the Orcas cohort (which was an amazing experience!) and went on to invest in their seed round to have now joined the team. This was because mission to get 100 million people working in climate truly resonates with me. It has also been because of the incredible team. The team is extremely passionate and mission oriented with a strong bias for action. For learning, Terra has taken the very complex problem of climate and put out the best modular and actionable content. The coursework and lab sessions make it easy for you to grasp the problem and the solutions. For jobs, it’s the best place for companies because of the job fairs and the highly qualified community of job seekers. For anyone wanting to work towards climate action, Terra is the place to be!

Co-founder of Terra.do here—I’ve been working in climate for 24 years and Terra.do is the most inspiring, fun and motivating work I’ve ever been involved in. Very grateful to @pollock for hunting us. As part of my job I keep up on all the latest climate research and news, and the people of Terra.do are the antidote to any climate anxiety I feel. Taking Terra.do's Learning for Action course was definitely the best experience I had this year to gain a comprehensive understanding of complex issues around climate change. I've always vehemently recommended Terra.do to people that ask me and to those who are interested in transitioning to a career in climate. To be honest, with 5 years under my belt as a co-founder in the rooftop solar industry in India, I didn't really expect to be exposed to all that much when I signed up for their flagship course Learning for Action back in the summer of 2021. But boy was I seriously mistaken! The course is designed for those who want to do it part time - but the wealth of resources, additional knowledge and experts at hand mean that you could do it full time and still barely scratch the surface of what is potentially on offer. It truly has something for everyone and covers a host of different disciplines and industries. To my mind, the most powerful tool is the network that one is inducted into and that is what I relish even over a year after graduating from the course. The time to act on climate is NOW and Terra.do is the perfect springboard to catapult yourself into a space that desperately needs all of us to pull our weight and come together to secure a future for our children and grandchildren.

Before joining Terra.do, I had a great deal of climate anxiety. The problem felt insurmountable, each individual action insignificant. Joining Terra.do has been the greatest antidote to that anxiety. I've discovered that a vast array of climate solutions exist, and that incredible people around the world are working — in such creative and imaginative ways — to implement them. I know a single job, a single company, or a single policy alone can't solve climate change.
