Tempo used to make my workday so much calmer back when I worked at a company that used Gmail. Now that I don't use Gmail, I can't enjoy Tempo anymore. 😢 (Thankfully, I also get fewer emails but still.)

@anna_0x Thanks Anna – hope we can welcome you back again in the not tooooo distant future! 🙂

Hi ?makers I really liked the UI of Tempo but do you guys plan to enable support for other mail providers too? Not using G Suite.
@nutpanda - Hey Ankit, we'll be porting Tempo over to other providers at some point for sure. When you have a moment, you can submit your preferred provider: https://airtable.com/shrlU1jlyuU...

Great email experience. Although I'm not quite the demographic, loved the product and the experience. It felt similar to Superhuman, in a way, but with a focus on bringing calm to my day, not just relentless efficiency.
@michaelibrooks - Lovely to hear this.

I've been a fan of Tempo since their 1.x versions, and v2 really fine-tuned the experience. This is what email should be - a tool. All other email clients are built with UX/UI that treat them like a social media product where they're trying to get you to spend as much time in them as possible. Tempo does the opposite. 3 things I love about it in summary: 1. Batched email notifications. No more getting disturbed by incoming emails. It allows you to focus on actual work and go through your emails at preset times as a batch. 2. The minimalist design. The greyscale tones are really soothing and don't distract. 3. Compose & Focus UI: The full screen focused views when you're composing or going through your to-do's (with the side-by-side view) are brilliant.
@filmique Thanks for your really kind words, Yalin!

@filmique And thank you for being always so responsive with feedback, Yalin!

I have been Tempo beta tester since the beginnings of Tempo 1 and I'm impressed how Tempo team is improving it every update. Tempo has the best experience of every mail app I have seen. Lack of distractions and minimalist interface has really helped me in reaching Inbox Zero. I'm recommending it to everyone who wants a unique experience with e-mails.
@wiktor_wojcik Hey Wiktor. Thanks for all of your support over this time. Really means a lot!
Vartika Jaiswal
Hey, this is awesome. The UI looks really simple. Looking forward to using it. Good Luck with the launch! :)
@vartikaa_jaiswal - Thank you so much!

Fantastic...! I am a big fan (also a bit biased as I know the guys). But, honestly it is now very weird to go back to gmail. Especially the sorting mechanism is priceless for me. Now I get to inbox zero approx 1 time a week. Huge! Though still forced into gmail on mobile, but thats coming. One thing though that I have lacked is reminders to follow up if a mail has not been answered... is that in the pipeline?
Onno Schwanen
@simonsylvest Thanks for the support, Simon! In the top right of the Compose/Reply screen you have an option to set a Reminder. Tempo will notify you when the reminder is due unless the receiver responds before.

Whoa, such a simple beautiful product! Is there a sign up form to be notified when this is available for other mail providers? Happy to pay for it when I can use it with my iCloud and imap emails
Onno Schwanen
@nikolaibain Thanks for the kind words! You can leave your details in the following form and we'll get in touch once Tempo supports it: https://airtable.com/shrlU1jlyuU...

@jkristobans - Really glad you think so!

Thanks, @ugmonk for hunting! Hey, Product Hunt community! Roughly a year ago, we launched Tempo on Product Hunt and were blown away by all of your support. Since then, the team has doubled in size - from four to eight – and Tempo has gone through some significant changes that we believe further enforce the app's purpose. With Tempo, we're not trying to push the idea of getting things done quicker. Tempo is designed to help you build healthier email habits and provide a calming space for you to feel in control of your time and your emails. Over the past six months, we hit the drawing board and worked on a redesign that further enforces everything we care about. Now, it's finally time to share Tempo 2! How will Tempo 2 help you? 💌 1. You'll check your inbox less: Tempo bundles new email together and delivers it in batches based on a schedule customized by you. 2. You'll effortlessly sort through your inbox: Make quick decisions on new email, marking everything you need to focus on as To do. 3. You'll never lose track of your important email: By having a separate space for your To dos, replying feels less overwhelming. 4. You'll enjoy writing emails: Focus mode offers a calming writing experience, away from distractions. Thanks everyone for taking the time to check out Tempo 2; it means a lot. We love talking with the community and listening to feedback, so don't be a stranger. Ps. We want to address some of the reluctances, such as: Where's Tempo mobile?: Building a great mobile client is hard. We're still working on it and are excited to share it with you all as soon as possible. But, we're excited to say that it's on its way. Sign up for Tempo mobile alerts: https://airtable.com/shrptvjsomv... Why will Tempo cost $15?: With Tempo being such a niche product, the price point needs to be around the 15$ mark for it to be sustainable. Tempo isn't for everyone, and that's okay. Why only Gmail-compatible?: It's the easiest platform to build the Tempo concept initially. We'll port over to others at some point for sure. Here, you can submit your preferred provider: https://airtable.com/shrlU1jlyuU...

Great work guys! This product is one of the best I've seen in a while and is one of the three products I use every day. The other two being Slack for Mac and Numi. It feels like every feature is data-driven and the UX is flawless. Great feedback and onboarding flow. I think the real trick will be getting folks to actually de-program their addiction to email which is definitely an uphill battle depending on their role and industry. That being said, I feel Tempo very much reflects the shifting landscape in tech where there now is more of a push for ethical humanistic design as we can see reflected in the recent documentary, 'The Social Dilemma' or in Jaron Lanier's 2018 novel, 'Ten Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now'. In that same vein, I feel like @nireyal would love this as it pairs very well with his latest book Indistractable by Nir Eyal which I also highly recommend as an instruction manual for starting the process of de-programming your addiction to technology.
@nireyal @karlnislow - Hey Karl, thanks for your kind words.

I've been using Tempo 2 for a few weeks and am loving it! The minimalist, distraction-free interface actually makes email "feel" more enjoyable to process (sounds crazy, but once you try it you get it). Tempo offers a more mindful approach to email which has helped me to better manage my inbox. Out of all of the email clients I've tried over the years, this is the only one that's stuck for me.
Mads Hensel
I always push Tempo when I talk with people who is working to improve their daily focus and is concerned about their attention budget.
@madshensel - Thanks so much for your support, Mads!

I'll leave another separate comment here. I've been using it for one day and it is very neat. • Multiple e-mails ✅ • Custom shortcut configuration ✅ • Signature for multiple e-mails ✅ • Clean and intuitive UI/UX ✅ • Batching for better focus ✅ (I am not using it atm, but I plan to) The only thing that I miss is adding e-mails that are not G-Suite or G-Mail. I guess I could add that 3rd party business e-mail on one of my G-Suite mails and then I'd be able to receive them in the app, correct? I just wish that, when you launch this as a subscription to think about supporting PPP. I know that one similar alternative (from Silicon Valley) costs double than what Tempo will cost, but it's still expensive for some countries like mine. (Serbia) Keep it up and take care! 🚀
Zach Wentz
This is exactly how I choose to use email. Love that the client matches the mindset I want to have as well. Please support Outlook soon, love!
@wentz__ Thanks, Zach!
Taylor Elyse Morrison
I've been using this for a couple of days now, and it's transformed by relationship to email! The only Gmail feature that I'm really missing is an ability to schedule emails to be sent later. If Tempo added that, it would be perfect!
@taylorelysemo - Hey Taylor, glad to hear this. "Send Later" is something we aim to add in the future.
Michał
This looks amazing, but $150 for an app, especially one that will only be valid for a year, feels like way too much.
@michal Appreciate your honest feedback, Michał!
Joakim Jansson
Congrats @0nn0 & Tempo team! It's been nice to see Tempo improve so much with each release. I've tried Superhuman, Hey and Spark and Tempo is hands down my favorite (although I love the screening idea from Hey to tame the inbox). Can't wait for the mobile app.
@0nn0 @joakimjansson - You're too kind, Joakim. Thanks for all your continued support!
Onno Schwanen
@joakimjansson Make me happy to hear that, Joakim! Big thanks!
Firgrove Forbes
oh I love the sound of this, calming email. the relentless notifications - batch email sounds brilliant for getting your head down. definitely going to try
@firgrove_forbes Amazing to hear, Firgrove!

This is a very cool product. Going to stick to Superhuman for the time being until this comes out of beta. And until we finally get iPhone and iPad apps. One piece of advice for especially an iPad app - don’t make the same mistakes as eg. Superhuman by making a scaled-up copy/paste of the iPhone client. iPads allow for productivity, hence the apps should be close to OSX versions, if not a direct replication.
@nichlas_w Hey Nichlas, thanks for the feedback!
