Tailscan is the ultimate developer tool for Tailwind CSS. Build and design your Tailwind website visually, right within the browser. You can also debug your website visually in seconds and check how other websites using Tailwind CSS are built.
Hello Product Hunt π!
More and more developers (and designers!) are working with Tailwind CSS. And for good reasons! It's a great, intuitive and fast framework to build your website or app with.
However, I have been struggling with one thing in particular over and over again. A few months ago, I decided to build a solution myself.
β Classes are purged: I couldn't use Chrome Devtools to design and build my website like I was used to because all the unused classes are purged from the CSS! Great for performance on production, but not during development.
β No real-time feedback: The alternative was to switch back and forth between my browser and code editor for every class change wasn't much better, it took ages!
π€ What if the full power of Tailwind was at your disposal where you need it most: the browser?
Introducing Tailscan:
β Design and build with Tailwind right within the browser
β Debug visually in seconds
β Discover how any Tailwind-based website is built
Tailscan gives you the full power of the JIT engine in the browser, on any website. Chaining variants? You got it! Arbitrary values? Sure!
You can also use your own Tailwind config, and Tailscan will support all generated classes right away!
And once you're done building, copy the class list, element or whole section into your code editor! It's that simple!
To celebrate the launch, I've added a limited number of early bird deals.Grab the deal before it runs out
I'd love to hear your questions, feedback and comments. Thank you very much π
Have a great day!
Erwin
Been beta testing Tailscan for the past 4 weeks and absolutely love it. I use Tailwind almost every day, so this tool saves me bunch of time opening Chrome dev tools all the time. The most amazing thing is the auto JIT compilation πͺ Thanks for making it, Erwin!
Congratulations on the launch of Tailscan! This is an amazing tool for developers who want to build and design their websites using Tailwind CSS. It is very user-friendly and makes it easier to debug your website visually.
It looks amazing!
I'm still skeptical about Tailwind, and I really didn't see what its use was the first time I tried it, but looking at the Tailscan features makes me think about taking the time to try Tailwind again π
Also, do you have any plans to support more browsers in the future?
I really like how Firefox dev-tools are improving lately and at the moment it is my main browser for development - i think, it would be pretty cool to have dev-tools like Tailscan in Firefox too π€
Congrats on the great launch!
@alexander_khoroshikh It's never too late to start using Tailwind π
I've started with support for Chromium-based browsers. Mostly because it's the biggest segment of browsers. I think Firefox accounts for 4% of global usage. But developers use Firefox more often (I think around 10%). If it starts making economic sense for me to build, I'll definitely make a Firefox version. Thus far I've had the question 4 times :)
I'm an early user of Tailscan - great product, makes life so much easier & saves a lot of time when working with TailwindCSS! π Thank your for making this tool!
@phuctm97 Config was an absolute requirement in my book. More advanced projects are usually very config dependent and it's built to support those advanced use cases fully π
