Hi everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹ My co-founder @acnebs and I are very excited to launch what we have been working on for the past two years. ๐Ÿ“Supernotes is a new place for you to collect your thoughts, notes and tasks. It is a new approach to note-taking where everything is a markdown (note) card that can be combined and connected to make an amazing knowledge base. And because everything is a card, you can share bits and pieces with your friends, without being forced to share everything in one go. โšก๏ธFast โ€“ few loading screens, with almost every interaction clocking in at under 100ms. ๐Ÿš€Shareable โ€“ allow others to edit, like, comment and add child cards in real time. ๐Ÿ”—Connected โ€“ organise cards with nesting, linking, and tagging ๐ŸŒšDark mode โ€“ perfect for late night thoughts ๐Ÿ“ฑResponsive โ€“ works on all of your devices There are heaps of other features, from adding cute card icons to powerful filtering. But instead of spamming you, I'd love hear what you think - here's the link. Given the current global situation we've also made Supernotes entirely free until July - to help everyone work super from home. Follow us on Twitter for more updates. Do post below and let us know if you have any suggestions or questions, we would love Supernotes to work great for everyone! Happy note-taking, Tobias

@acnebs @twhetton Any plans for a web-clipper? I find myself often enjoying great tools like this but the web clipper keeps me with Evernote.
Tobias Whetton
@jonzhan We do have a plan for our own take on a web-clipper since our format should work especially well, adding a card w/ tags to your Supernotes depending on what you are clipping. Right now we are focusing on Desktop apps, but hopefully we have a web clipper out in the next few months! ๐Ÿ™Œ

@porush_puri Thanks Porush! Will definitely be in touch, feel free to add me on Linkedin. ๐Ÿ˜„

A suggestion to your onboarding workflow โ€“ I went through all steps (which isn't typical of me) but I'm still not sure how should I use it properly. Maybe leave some pre-filled notes in a certain structure to demonstrate that live?
Connor Neblett
@y_molodtsov Thanks for the feedback (and thanks for working through our tutorial to the end!). The onboarding flow is something we want to improve โ€“ some of the things you can do on Supernotes can be a bit complex and we definitely want it to be as easy as possible to get started and go from there. We will add your great "demo cards" idea to our pending feature roadmap. Examples that you can interact with are always helpful. ๐Ÿ‘

Excited to get started, the UI looks clean and simple. Left some feedback in context here in relation to your landing page too, hope it helps -- https://app.usebubbles.com/20421...
Tobias Whetton
@tom4 Thanks for your detailed feedback on the landing page! Great job with Bubbles as well!

Beautiful product! Great job guys. Are you planning on adding realtime collaboration feature like Google docs? Definitely project i'll keep an eye on
Tobias Whetton
@timur_mamedov_ Great question! All collaboration (comments, adding cards etc.) is real-time except for editing a card. That exception is usually not a problem, because you will often be collaborating on 10+ cards at the same time โ†’ what would usually be one long document. Multi-user card editing, like Google Docs, is planned though and will arrive once we implement our take on a WYSIWYG editor.

Hey, I liked the onboarding, started well - but I'm using the app and finding it quite buggy. For instance, when I first signed up, I just had a blank screen and had to refresh. It was very difficult to find the dark/light mode setting and then for a while I didn't realise it was a toggle. And I'm finding the double click to open vs single click to edit quite frustrating as the most frequent task is to open which I single click for - but that gives me edit. I've also found it quite buggy in that the number of children doesn't match the actual children, so sometimes it says 5 children but only displays 2 for a top level note. It would also be cool if you could move notes more easily, for instance I started but then wanted an extra layer at the root but had to create all the notes again as new children while removing the old ones (which is Ok but then the bugs started with the number of children). I also had an instance of a blank screen when I deleted something - perhaps an error message may be better with a link to report it? I also find the filtering UI quite unintuitive in terms of removing filters but the prompt at the bottom did help with that in the end. Sorry I've just spewed out some feedback here - congrats on getting it live and launched! As a maker I appreciate the hard work that goes into such products and the time constraints, so I hope my feedback is useful for you rather than just negative! I like to concept of keeping notes like this. Best of luck with it ๐Ÿ‘
Tobias Whetton
@jamiegilman Thanks for your extensive feedback Jamie, really appreciate you taking the time to write this all down - it is incredibly useful indeed! Sorry to hear that you didn't have the best experience, it is unusual for a user to encounter blank screens and you should have received an error message. If you see this again or anything other issues, please get in touch with us using the live chat in the bottom-right so we can identify the exact problem, help you quickly and patch it for our other users. Regarding your main point about the number of children not matching up correctly, this has actually been done intentionally. In the sidebar we only display those cards you have opened or manually 'indexed', as once you start writing 100s of note-cards it makes sense to only have those that you want quick-access to be present in the sidebar otherwise it could start getting cluttered. However, we do recognise that this mechanic along with a few others (incl. filtering) need refining. We do have lots of exciting updates in the works with a 'drag and drop' mechanic coming soon which will make it easier to reorganise cards; as well as native apps arriving in the next few months. Looking forward to sharing them with you, have a great week! ๐Ÿ™Œ

What Tobias and Connor have built here is nothing short of fantastic. The UI, the speed, all the little details in the interactions โ€“ Excellent job.

This is a great idea - I like the fact you can just share a single note rather than whole docs - I've not found any other app that does this yet.
Alex Robertson
Great note-taking app. Would recommend to anyone who needs to write large amounts of notes and put them into flexible or overlapping categories. Tagging features are seamless and allow you to re-sort your notes almost infinitely without hassle.
Connor Neblett
@alex_robertson2 Making overlapping categories is one of our favorite things to do! Maybe we need a "venn diagram view"...
Daniel Lo
Supernotes has been so useful for my studies - a very powerful tool for sorting out my notes into tags and creating links between them, so that making cards, revising, and searching are all done really efficiently! Definitely recommend!
Tobias Whetton
@daniel_lo1 Thanks! Really happy to hear that Supernotes has been useful for your studies!

damn this new patch is nice! I've been using supernotes for work and personal notes for about 6 months now, and im now completely addicted. Its clear a lot of thought has gone into designing the UX which makes using it a pleasure! Looking forward to getting stuck into the new patch!
Connor Neblett
@t_thomas If you keep giving us good ideas / submitting high-quality bug reports, we'll keep implementing them / fixing them! ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป

Been using Supernotes for a while now (got to try it out in beta), used it for university and now use it for work notes. The tagging in particular is really smooth, and it has a much more appealing aesthetic than other note-taking apps!
Eliza Adriani
Been using this for my story writing and it really does help me keep track of all my scattered ideas and thoughts! I love the UI too, itโ€™s very slick and intuitive :)
Alice Chapman
I love using this platform! Supernotes designed their product around flexible functionality -- and it really shows! By using tags and/or a hierarchy to sort my notes, it's been ideal using Supernotes for my final year at university as well as in my personal and working life. Also totally recommend getting involved now -- the founders are always quick to reply and really take suggestions on-board. It's so refreshing seeing a product really being built around its users!
Tobias Whetton
@alice_chapman Your feedback has always incredibly insightful! Really happy to hear you are enjoying the Supernotes experience ๐Ÿฅณ
Benjamin de Pearson
Really great and friendly support helped me discover the full potential of Supernotes- would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade from scraps of paper like I used to use- you won't look back!
Danny Postma
Got to try this in beta, and oh man is this some Notion power on steroids!
Tiarna Lee
This app has completely transformed my revision! Itโ€™s so easy to use, Iโ€™ll never bother with the old school handwritten notes again. I really appreciate the team making the unlimited version free during the lockdown, they clearly care about their customers a lot! 10/10
Connor Neblett
@tiarna_lee Thanks Tiarna, great to hear that it is working well for you!

I started using Supernotes this year to move away from paper notes for Uni and I'm so glad I did. Once you get used to using the app, I've found it is much quicker to make notes with. They've kept things simple with the amount you can do to the cards at the moment, which I like as it doesn't over complicate things. I've been able to create a library of cards that I can easily organise, revise and edit, which I've found has helped me consolidate my knowledge much more effectively than with paper notes. Thanks Supernotes team!
Connor Neblett
@victoria_lau Thanks for the great feedback Victoria, glad you're liking Supernotes!

Testing Will this replace my Evernote subscription?
Sabba Keynejad
I have been following this for some time, really excited to dive it!
Connor Neblett
@sab8a Cards can actually be nested infinitely, so you will be diving for a longggg time. ๐Ÿ˜‰
