We just launched a free Facebook Ads benchmarking tool
Until now marketers have had to guess what's a normal CPC, CPM or CTR in their niche. There's no real public information available.
So we decided to fix this.
Here's our public free Facebook Ads benchmarking tool.
It's based on real data, not some marketer's best guess from 2017.
It's built on an anonymized data set of $2B+ of Facebook Ads ad spend. All data is fully aggregated and anonymized
You can currently select CPC, CPM or CTR. And slice the data by industry, campaign type and country.
Is your CPM spike an industry-wide trend?
Is your CTR truly exceptional or just average for your vertical?
These are questions you can now answer with data, not gut feelings.

This is cool- what have you learned from analyzing all of these data points?
It seems like at a super high level, Facebook ads are way cheaper than Google Ads. Do you think they're as useful though? Do they skew as more efficient for certain categories?
@steveb thanks! something that stood out when looking at CTRs was that the data is highly skewed with a fat long tail. The best ads drive disproportionately good results. These outliers can inflate a simple average, making it less representative of what most advertisers actually experience. So we decided to display median values, instead of averages.
re: Facebook vs Google, I haven't seen a similar data set from Google, so can't really say something outside of what I've seen first-hand when managing Google Ads accounts myself.
@andreslevinton Cool- how does that translate into how you'd advise founders to use Facebook ads? Try a ton of ads, monitor, and continue to iterate until you see an outlier/clear winner?
Hi there! If I want to check a click-through rate for Crypto Industry in Portugal, what should I choose? Please advise.
Nice idea in general! I confirm that I can be really useful for marketing budget running to have an established and data-based benchmarks.
@theonebroker Thanks! We don't have crypto industry nor Portugal yet. But we'll keep expanding the list of industries and countries as our data set grows. (We need a minimum number of ad accounts per segment to be able to show statistics.)
@andreslevinton Thank you for explanation. Keep growing!!!
That's a rare combo. Appreciate you putting something like this out there bookmarking it now.
This is super cool. I have run a couple of ads in Facebook and this benchmark tool will help me compare with it. Thanks for sharing
