As far as I know Instagram policy is against such bots and could get your account suspended (correct me if I'm wrong)

@baidoct I believe this is true and this is how a lot of accounts get shut down. Instagram has upped their game when it comes to bots and will shadowban you.

@baidoct but there is an article linked in @maker post as to why it's safe
Claire Tran
@baidoct No you're right. Instagram has been fighting bots for a long time now and a bad bot will definitely get you blocked for a few days, or suspended if you keep on abusing (using a bad bot, buying fake followers, spamming with comments etc...) It's all about limits, some bots will try to grow your account too fast and do too many actions per day, that's no good. We chose to go the safe route, our bot doesn't do too many actions per day so that it's not suspicious. Therefore the growth is not extreme, but it's pretty good and stable on the long run. There's more info on this Medium article we posted recently: https://medium.com/@suparise/the...

@baidoct @maker exactly! thank you @ni_e_sha for your comment :)
Giulio Maselli
@baidoct Yes, absolutely right: IG bots are forbidden by IG's t&c. But growing an IG account is a full time job for a marketer and especially in a startup/one man show you don't have time for that. An IG bot when used carefully, with moderation, politeness and common sense, targeting the right people that are really interested in what you offer, is a good tool that can offer valuable content to the people that you are targeting and save lot of time to marketers.
Claire Tran
Hi, we've posted an article on Medium about why Suparise is the most reliable Instagram automation bot in 2020: https://medium.com/@suparise/the...
Lucas YaKnow
The thing is what does this company offer in terms of a fail safe plan? If anything goes wrong since you can potentially get your account banned / suspended (especially if you've been banned in the past) what is offered in terms of security? Because all this is is a glorified bot in reality.
Piotr Fijalkowski
@lucas_yaknow According to their policy – nothing. "Suparise is not liable in any way, shape or form in case: (a) of account suspension, block, ban and/or content removal by Instagram; (b) for any damages or harm to you, your business or your social media pages. It is the User’s sole responsibility to know, understand and stay informed of Instagram’s terms of use at any time. Suparise cannot guarantee continuous uptime or availability of the Service since Suparise uses the internet to deliver the Service."
Claire Tran
@lucas_yaknow It's a good point to mention — as @fijalkowskycom quoted above, Suparise is not liable.

Be super careful with Instagram bots as Facebook is bringing down the hammer hard.

@maker My antivirus (Windows Defender) doesn't like your .exe file.
Claire Tran
@maker @batmanc Windows Defender is a bit paranoid sometimes. Better safe than sorry though. If that helps, Suparise was approved on CNET a few days ago: https://download.cnet.com/Supari...
Nik Kotov
@maker @batmanc @clairet CNET is not a reliable source to getting approval. Just saying.
Claire Tran
@maker @batmanc @nkotov Really? There was a review process that took about 5 days for us I assumed they were testing applications before putting them online... good to know. To everyone: If you're not feeling it don't install it
Nik Kotov
How is this not against Instagram's ToS? If it is against ToS, then why should your customers use it?
Merrill Reisemberg
@nkotov Many things are againt X's ToS, that never stop customers to use it, whatever it is. Growth automation has always been a thing on social media, but since the update of July 2019 it is especially hard on Instagram. They are just trying here to build a bot emulating a normal use of the app. So why would customers use it? Because if it works it can be useful as hell.
Hof Rire
Isn't this illegagainst the terms of service?
Claire Tran
@hofrire Most countries do not have a law against bots so it's not illegal. However, using bots is against IG's terms of use.
Giulio Maselli
@maker I've tried a few bots about 7-8 months ago and it was really a major pain in the a**. Even with very conservative settings and human-like behavior patterns I got blocked by IG after a few days of use (even connecting the computer via 4G USB stick to simulate a mobile user). Any new ideas and technologies are very welcome and I'll give a try to Suparise in the next days
Claire Tran
@maker Thank you @giulio_maselli hope you will like it! Yes indeed, the few months after June 2019 were a nightmare (for developers too — not finding a way to automate seamlessly was frustrating.. ) At first there were some rumors saying that relying on 4G IPs was the best way, but after some attempts we found out it’s not. Using your home IP address and only 1 Instagram account turned out to be the most reliable way. Be careful though! If you’ve had bad experiences in the past with your accounts (such as action block and temporary suspension), they might be a bit flagged and need a lot of natural actions to go back to unflagged. Do you get action blocks even when you’re using your accounts normally?
Giulio Maselli
@maker @clairet last block I got was back in November, and anyway it was only on the bot and it was an action block on follows and likes for a couple of days. I wasn't blocked on the mobile app. Since then I've never used bots again and never had problems on normal manual activity on the app.
Xavier H.
Testing it. One sad thing is that there seem to be no log of the bot's activities.
Xavier H.
@clairet I see, well some parts of the log like interaction, likes, follows, not this time... Should be updated and visible in real time. Otherwise after two hours I would think it did nearly nothing.
Claire Tran
@xavierh This could be a good direction, maybe having an "Activity log" tab on the left to be able to check what's going on. We've had some questions from users saying "is the bot active now? anything else I should do on my dashboard?". Thank you for your input
Anna Filou
@xavierh @clairet copy-pastable path for macOS: ~/Library/Logs/Suparise But yeah, that could have been a lot more obvious. Why not have an "Activity" section within the app?
Xavier H.
Well, tried it. The lack of activity summary is to reconsider as it is a valuable info for the user. I was disappointed about the results for a recent account (<100 followers) and had much more results by following or retweeting manually a few minutes times to times. Maybe this is more useful for bigger accounts.
Craig Jones
Congrats to the team for building this.

Seems cool
Pageder Dastib
I like the idea but won't this get you banned?
Claire Tran
thank you for your comment @pagederdastib . Although I'm just wondering why you click on "I don't recommend this" if you don't know if it will get you banned (?) No it doesn't get you banned. If you want to learn more about the product we've posted an article on Medium, the link is in the first comment ;)

Read the article and just downloaded it. Looking forward to trying this out and seeing how well it performs!
Leandro Henflen
Hey ?makers MacOs Catalina supects your app is a malware. It simple won't install. Any idea why?
Claire Tran
Hello @bochenn thank you for your reporting. There's an article on our Help page that explains why this happens and how to continue the install: https://help.suparise.com/docs/s...
Leandro Henflen
@clairet Got it. But I think you should consider becoming an identified developer by Apple or another workaround to this since this gets suspicious and you are charging quite a bit. Don't you think?
Claire Tran
@bochenn You're right that would be simpler. Personally and inside the team we're used to using apps that are not made by identified developers (and used to this warning message). But not everyone's used to it..
Josselin Colletta
Hey @clairet, does it work with international accounts as well? What feature wouldnt work? Thank you.
Claire Tran
Hello @josselinco, what do you mean by "international accounts"?
Josselin Colletta
@clairet Ones where English isn't used. French one for exemple
Claire Tran
@josselinco Yes this works, pas de problème ;) (The interface of Suparise is in English only though) Side note: If you want to specifically target users in France, you will need to specify this in your targeting settings inside the app (using hashtags & usernames that are related to your France audience). For instance you can target the hashtag "graphisme" instead of "graphicdesign" or something.
Josselin Colletta
@clairet Awesome :) Thank you

To sum up the comments: - It is bot software that is directly against the TOS of Instagram - It tries to sneak past Instagrams detection algorithms by appearing like natural user actions. - The moment that it gets any traction and publicity it will likely get noticed by Facebook/Instagram cyber security teams. - They will probably update their own algorithms to block and ban anyone using the software. - People who have grown strong social media presences for brands may find their accounts banned. - The Suparise TOS states they are not liable for any action taken by Instagram to limit, ban or delete your account when using their software. - And it is a download for Windows, but Microsoft's own anti-virus warns against downloading it, but the developer says that is just Microsoft being paranoid. - It costs $19/month to use it. But that is for one account/one computer, to operate two accounts you need to pay twice, and own two separate computers. - The developer said they get a lot of questions regarding "Does the bot work now?" - They ironically cannot spell 'Guaranteed' when saying 'Guaranteed Growth'. I think that covers it.
Anna Filou
Interesting bot. I like the fact that it doesn't try to do too much and doesn't promise extraordinary results. With that said, isn't 20$/mo. a bit too much to pay, considering the limitations? It's a desktop app, so I assume it has to be running in the background in order to work, right? And if you want to use it on two accounts, you need to pay twice as much AND have a second computer in hand. For those reasons, I think the price is too high. "Our software will automate liking, following and unfollowing." Is it possible to only have it like posts, but not follow anyone? The trial is just 5 days... I'm no expert, but isn't that too short to judge the quality of such a service/determine if the followers really are real people, etc.? I feel that ~2 weeks would be more reasonable, considering it's not cheap.
Claire Tran
Thank you for your feedback @anna_0x We're considering reevaluating the pricing. We're not a big company, customer support takes a lot of time but we understand that it can look expensive for an app like this. The app was built in order to manage 1 account only.. so for someone who needs to manage 2 accounts it's really not ideal as it is now : / We should probably insist more on the fact that the app is made for 1 account only. Yes you can only turn on Auto-like, and turn off Auto-follow. Usually people follow back within 1-2 day, so you can get results quickly and during your trial. BUT again you're right that might be too short. You're making good points.
Anna Filou
@clairet no problem :) In the meantime, I downloaded it myself to answer my own questions. A couple of hours later I open the app again to check up on it and I get this error message "Your credentials stopped working, update your profile information." :/ I think I'll just stop trying... The spontaneous log-out + the inability to easily see the bots actions (I found the log but reading that is pretty inconvenient) has turned me off. By the way, what does the "auto unfollow" do? Does it follow a user, wait a few days and then unfollow them automatically? More transparency and hints would be helpful.
Claire Tran
@anna_0x Auto-unfollow will unfollow users that haven't followed you back after 3 days Sorry to hear that, some account get unlogged a lot, it's annoying to have to log in again indeed.. I'll keep you posted if one day we implement an activity log and a way to keep everyone logged! Thank you for your feedback Anna
