Any experiences with launch weeks?

Meow Product Hunt!

I once stumbled upon this AMA session with @Rors, head of growth at @Supabase, where he details his "launch week" strategy:

> "Once every 3-4 months, [Supabase] spends a week shipping a new feature every day."

More examples:

Liveblocks launched Liveblocks Starter Kit during a launch week. So did Raycast with Raycast for Teams.

Do you have any experiences with launch weeks?

For further inspiration, I also recently started a public collection of past and upcoming launch weeks. It’s open source, feel free to contribute — hope it inspires!

I myself am a fan of Supabase. This marketing strategy is very engaging, and have been eagerly awaiting each launch since the first one. I am also looking forward to Launch Week 8 this August.

@moniquevanbokkum thank you, Monique!

ICYMI @Supabase's co-founder and CTO @antwilson wrote an in-depth, insightful post on how they launch at Supabase.

Some quotes that really struck me:

We rarely hold back features until launch week. Quite the opposite is true. We encourage everyone to ship features as early as possible.

We’ve found that you can launch a new feature many times over and always manage to reach people who either forgot, ignored, or just plain missed it the first few times.

Don’t ship to prod on the launch day. It’s ideal to get all the major integrations done a week early.

Wow that's actually a really interesting topic. Thanks for bringing it to my attention will definitely implement something like Launch Weeks after launching. On the same note, I am actually launching right now and was wondering if you are willing to support each other? I would appreciate it a lot (https://www.producthunt.com/post...)

@deds3t thanks, Dennis. enjoy your launch day.

It can be a nice way to keep on collecting upvotes for your product during the week. However you cannot make on product hunt per day: you need to wait 6 months in order to relaunch a product.

@fabian_maume thanks, Fabian.

for the record, it depends. take Superhuman. the team launched twice this month:

there are more examples: Stripe, Supabase, Raycast... keep launching!

@fmerian Those are not the same products. https://www.producthunt.com/post... was launch as a standalone product. You can see that it isn't listed on the product hub of SuperHuman: https://www.producthunt.com/prod... Product hunt defines a product as one URL. You can launch micro product hosted on a subpage of your main domain. This allows you to bypass the 6 months cool down. However those product won't appear on product hub and the follower of your product hub won't get notification about the launch.

@fabian_maume fyi you can find the Superhuman for Android launch page listed in the Superhuman product hub: select `all` (Superhuman for Android wasn't featured). thanks!
