Hey, guys. I'm one of the developers over at Sumo.
I helped make the new Sumo Live Chat product and I'm SUPER proud of it.
Sumo.com already helps grow your email list. Now we added Live Chat because we wanted to make it easier for website owners, entrepreneurs and more to chat with their customers.
Key features:
1) Help visitors quickly. Talk with website visitors, prospects, and customers directly in real-time.
2) Grow your email list. If anyone messages you while you're unavailable for chat, they can leave their email address so you can get in contact with them later.
3) Extensive dashboard: See your average response time, average messages per chat, average chat duration, busiest chat times, and a TON more.
We think this will help all online business communicate better with their customers via Sumo.
I really hope you love it. 😊 Please leave me any questions, ideas, or suggestions!
@iamjustinm Correction on that one. If you are away, the visitor will be prompted to enter their email which will then be added to your subscriber list.
@justin_o_0 nice work! Everyone knows I'm a huge Sumo fan, and I love seeing this addition to the core suite. While I recently adopted another tool for chat, I'm eager to switch and do more with fewer and fewer snippets. 😀 Cheers!
For all you HUNTERS, we hooked ya up with a code when you click through to try it out for free for a month. Good for today. Definitely love to hear feedback / suggestions.
Really proud of the whole team on this one.
Super smart move by the Sumo team. It's so annoying to have to login to tons of different apps to communicate and manage your list / leads / whatever you choose to call it.
I currently use a different chat tool, which is free, but I'm eager to check this out for the sole purpose of not needing *another* tool or subscription.
The only concern I have is the classic "can one company do MANY things WELL?"
Chat can be a full product for some companies. But ... depending on the **needs of the users** I can see how this is a good feature within Sumo. Why? well because I'd bet a lot of the Sumo audience couldn't afford something like Intercom (or even know about it). Or, that Intercom may be *too* robust for their needs.
Curious to see how this works and rolls out.
I have the paid plan which the email said was required and tried to use, said I needed a bigger paid plan. Hmm...looks fun though and I like housing more things inside Sumo.

The Sumo suite is a great addition to almost any website, this is a great feature to add to that.
Pros:It is built into a great suite to tools that help marketers of all sizes
Cons:Too early to tell, but they may be playing catchup to more dedicated live chat resources.
