ToolFinder was a little side-project to make a simple way to endorse software for what it's good at and to find tools based on what you need. I always found it a slog to search for new software to do something I needed- most recommendation sites will give you generic star ratings (which doesn't tell you if it's right for your needs), or you have to dig through an article or comment thread to figure out if it does what you want. The idea for ToolFinder was to just make a super simple way to rate tools for the specific features or jobs they do.
