🛠️ Why did we build it?
Manual accessibility checks are slow, expensive, and inconsistent. A standard 10-minute video can have up to 18,000 frames. To meet compliance standards, every frame and transition must be reviewed by someone with expertise in captions, colour contrast, flashing content and more. Here are just some of the challenges with checking accessibility:
• Generic AI platforms and video editors don’t check for accessibility. They only let you add captions and transcripts, which doesn’t cover all accessibility needs
• Manually checking a 10-minute video can take 5 to 8+ hours. At $50/hour, that’s $250 to $400 per video
• Full compliance means reviewing every frame and transition
• With regulations like the ADA already in effect and the European Accessibility Act coming into force across EU member states in June 2025, the pressure to meet standards is only increasing
