Hey devs βοΈ,
As you know it's crucial for us to learn new coding concepts.
It's not always easy to find good concepts, so we've just developed www.stanza.dev π
We focus on :
- Short posts to go straight to the point. π§βπ»
- Code snippets to illustrate the concepts. βοΈ
- Reading list to help other devs going deeper. π
Everyone can share any coding concepts on every programming language and help others to get better at programming. πΆ
Disclaimer : π
Stanza is very new, we did not work on this project for months before launching it, we are just driven by our passion for web development and we just have a few concepts on Stanza for now.
We are looking for our early adopters in every programming language, so if you support this project π share some coding concepts on Stanza β€οΈ
Ps: Feel free to send your feedbacks, we just want to improve Stanza as much as we can π
This is pretty cool. This is the kind of thing I'm looking for when I open 10 google search results in separate tabs assuming none of them will clearly explain the question I'm asking.
A question though, what's the sign up for? And why does it need full access to my GH account?
Hey @ethan_glover, thank you so much for your feedback !! Your question makes me think that it's not clear enough on Stanza and we should add more info because you might not be the only one to have these questions ...
The sign up will allow you to post concepts yourself on the website, follow tags and other devs that you are interested in, vote for some tags and access to a feedback page to request changes on Stanza. We will add more features in the future such as commenting posts, saving posts etc.
We request access to your github account in order to take core infos (email, first name, last name, avatar and bio) to create your profile 'automatically'. We think that there is a double interest here, we will only have developers on the website (or at least coders), and regarding the user experience you don't have to add your infos manually which is pretty boring...
I hope I have answered you questions, feel free to ask me more if not, it's just SO cool to get users' feedback, this is the only way of improving the website ! :)
@olivier_dumas Thanks for the response. I noticed it requested full access to all repositories. Not just profile information. Which seems excessive. I do appreciate an easy sign up though.
@ethan_glover I've just checked what you said and yes by default github Oauth asks for public repo access AND user's data. I didn't even noticed it while building the app !! I have seen that we can provide a scope to get only users' data, I will change this asap because we don't even need public repos data and I understand that it seems weird for users to allow that ! Thank you very much for pointing this :) !
@ethan_glover , I have changed this and now Stanza require only the user's data and not access to public repos ;)
Thank you very much for your feedback, I would have never seen this without you !
