Thanks for the hunt, Dylan!
As a product manager, I realized traditional user research wasn’t keeping pace with our product development process. In many cases, it took weeks to get results, but I needed to make a decision the next day.
So most of the time, I was left to make important product decisions based on nothing but assumptions. In the best case scenario, I had to rely on analytics data that told me what customers were doing, but couldn’t tell me why.
I started building UserLeap two years ago to help product teams take the guesswork out of product development. With UserLeap, you can target specific users in your product or on your website, launch a micro-survey, and get meaningful answers to your questions in a few hours. And you can keep those surveys running continuously so you have a constant pulse on your users. We have all kinds of companies using UserLeap from startups trying to find product-market fit to some of the largest tech companies wanting to understand why their conversion funnel is broken.
Three things make UserLeap extremely useful for product teams:
- We provide over 75 micro-survey templates so you don’t need to be a UX researcher to do user research
- You can get valuable insights from open-ended questions. We analyze and prioritize the results for you using AI, which saves you a ton of time!
- We integrate with your tech stack, with tools like Segment, Google Tag Manager and Slack (and more exciting integrations coming soon)
We’re excited to announce our $16M Series A led by Accel and UserLeap’s early access plan so you can explore full product functionality for free.
We appreciate your support and please let us know if you have any questions or feedback!
Cheers,
Ryan (CEO)
@ryanglasgow Congrats on all the progress to date Ryan! Great to see what you've built since those early explorations in 2017 - and a really relevant problem for product teams. Even at FAANG scale, research takes a long time, so continuous qualitative insights are super valuable.
Hey Product Hunt,
Excited for this launch! UserLeap has an incredible vision-- to make user research as fast and continuous as the product development cycle. When Ryan showed me the product earlier this year, I immediately saw the gap it could fill for product teams and asked to invest.
With UserLeap, you can just press a button and ask customers what they think about a new feature or onboarding process. It makes collecting insights easy and it’s simple to add to your website — you can get started in just an hour. I’m especially excited about the potential of UserLeap’s open-text feature which makes it easier to scale qualitative feedback! The team has spent years refining it.
@aitor_rodriguez_plagaro@allison_dickin Quick question. Just set up an event using the public api (backend), but the survey is not fired. Is there sth i'm doing badly?
@aitor_rodriguez_plagaro Hey Aitor, excited your trying out UserLeap! We'll just need a few more details to investigate. Do you mind using the help chat in the product (bottom left corner)? And from there, we'll get things sorted! Thanks :)
At First Round, we have been using User Leap ever since partnering with the team in their seed round—and we've been getting so much out of using the product ourselves from Day 1. Outside of the obvious impact for product teams, there's so much value for marketing teams as well. From better understanding our audience to identifying why users do/don't sign up, to figuring out what kind of content and features they'd like to see, we've learned tons from the micro-surveys we run on the First Round Review. Congrats to the team on a spectacular launch!
Hi @jessica_craige, so great to hear. We've loved partnering with First Round in general, and with you on the First Round Review. Thanks for your support!
@jessica_craige As soon as your team invested, you became customers! LOVE that conviction of in investing products you would actually use. Thanks for all the support along the way Jessi!
We're early users and big fans of Userleap at Clay! Invaluable for gathering feedback and generating insights directly from our users. Breadth and thoughtfulness of templates was also super helpful for getting started. Congrats team ✨
SaaS founder and PM here, this is going to make my life so much easier :) Now a days, long form survey for SaaS is almost ineffective, NPS only gives an overall picture. I need to understand user experience feature wise in particular cohorts. Userleap is going to be the perfect tool for that.
Hi Product Hunt! As a user researcher myself, I know how valuable user insights are in guiding product development.
But I've also experienced the challenges of getting them quickly enough to inform decisions for fast moving product teams.
That's why I joined UserLeap and it's why I'm so excited to be sharing it with you all today!
So glad to have you onboard Allison!
All: UserLeap's micro-survey templates and research content were created by Allison, who is an expert in the field of user research and survey design.
We are early users of Userleap at Opendoor. We love love love the product here, it was an instant hit (and honestly buy) with the product team here. Three things stand out for me:
1) Ease of integration - we were up and running in <30 minutes using Google Tag Manager
2) High response rates - we are seeing insane levels of response rates even to open-ended questions
3) Care of onboarding - Ryan, Allison & team have been really thoughtful about onboarding new customers
Congrats on this achievement, can't wait to see what comes next!
@nikunj You and your team have been amazing to work with and I'm so glad you've had a positive experience so far. We love doing things that don't scale and glad that the extra care and attention during onboarding paid off!
Congrats on the launch!
The world is changing and companies are now building their products with more agility than the past. 10 years ago we would spend a year building a product, then release an alpha version -> test it -> release a beta test -> test it -> go-live. This is not the modern way we build software. These days, we go-live as soon as possible, and use continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) where we are releasing micro-features and pushing them live multiple times per day, in small granular batches. Gone are the days of static large granularity releases.
With the new world of continuous software improvement, our methods for determining how to improve our KPIs also need to evolve. UserLeap fills that gap and surface realtime insights for improving your product to convert and retain more users.
I've been a fan and investor in UserLeap for years and believe this team will go on to do great things.
@edro Thanks Ed! I'm so glad to have you apart of our journey. It's great to have investors like you who really "get" UserLeap, and who saw the vision and invested in us very early on. Thanks for all your support!
Perfect founder-product-market fit. I'd consider this a core tool that any product-obsessed company, small or large, should be using in their arsenal.
If you're influencing the product roadmap for your company, stop reading and go create an account! Telling startups to integrate UserLeap has been some of the easiest yet high ROI advice I've given, and UserLeap provides ridiculous levels of clarity and direction to your team and investors.
Can't wait to see what's next. This is going to be a rocket ship! 🚀
@blo UserLeap's genesis really started when we were building the early versions of Vurb together! Reaching out to users to understand their experience was so powerful, but also tedious and time consuming. I appreciate your backing and support from the very beginning of the UserLeap journey and so glad to have you formally involved :)
two things that make UserLeap so power, first one is easy - native in-app surveys get massive lift in response rates, we've seen a few of our surveys over 70%. Secondly, your product will get better with more feedback and insights from your users and having this tool makes it easier to gather.
UserLeap is a crowd favourite and core part of our stack here at Plann.
Experiencing viral growth is every founder's dream, but it made it impossible to understand why we were losing people during onboarding, where the success gaps were and why anyone would want to leave - it was impossible to speak with them all and find trends at such a large scale!
We worked with the team to take the scrambled mess of our customer's thoughts and the micro surveys delivered us an amazing to-do list, we noticed a positive difference in our retention (and revenue) within just 30 days. Great product, great team.
@christy So glad to hear that Christy! It's been great building the early UserLeap product with you and your team. Your product feedback and been critical to our success. Looking forward to another big year together!
I just found this PH and signed up + integrated it into my app in 10 minutes. Best interface I've seen for in-app micro-surveys, and love that it has NPS as an option AND custom event triggers. I've been looking for a tool like this for some time. Thank you!
