I love that they added in more stats than last year. Spotify always uses such crazy-bold designs to make infographics pop–and it really works. This might just be their best version yet.
@timchardme because in Dec everyone starts thinking about their year to start planning for the next one. They thought it makes sense to insert this in the process, and honestly it does. Helps you think back on things from the whole year through the songs and playlists you listened to along each season
I saw it this morning on the iPhone app and loved it. It's beautifully designed, feels like IG Stories, and is perfect corporate storytelling with the ultimate personal story. Great for those of us obsessed with #quantifiableself. Really well done. I want to hear from the maker. Congrats to the team! (Asking @jeremycaplan for his thoughts).
Apparently my 4th favourite genre is "meme rap" and I don't know how I feel about that... Kudos to Spotify for continuing to build impressive experiences around music in ways that delight.
I am surprised more people aren't responding to the terrible copy. So much pretend-intimacy! Visually it's fine, and of course it's good to see your data; but for real i am not dating a 4000 person public company... Thanks for being premium?! cmon
@chrislozeau it's def weirder in context of other copy, first we are in this long relationship, then they are like 'thanks for being premium' (also just that phrasing itself ugh)
@fascinated They could say "Thanks for using Spotify", but what they really want to thank you for is being a paying customer. "Thanks for being premium" gives you recognition for that while jokingly praising you. It's just millennial talk 😉
Kudos on uniquely Swedish design ethos built into the Wrapped product!
Also: Spotify fits almost perfectly Clayton Christensen's theory on disruptive innovation. I love the personalized reflection on my music discovery. I'd have never discovered some long-tail music otherwise. Keep going Daniel & Co. !
This is pretty fun... and also surprising. I really liked learning that I've listened to artists from 41 countries. Would be cool if they did a podcast only version, too.
I loved seeing my favorite songs and artists. The wrap was very successful and in depth. However, to be tracked and analyzed this much is scary. After seeing the amount of time I spent on Spotify, I honestly felt weird. Music data can't exploit us, but imagine Instagram did this? And indeed they do, but don't share it with us...
I have gotten my 2019 wrapped playlist by Spotify and I have downloaded them on my devices offline with the help of AudFree Spotify Music Converter from https://www.audfree.com via the free Spotify account. Now I enjoy my 2019 Wrapped playlist on my MP3 player always.
