This is pretty cool, love seeing cool stats after using a product like Spotify every day :) Apparently, I'm an energetic eclectic, what about you? P.S. That design 🔥 dem gradients 🌋

@vytasbu "YOU ARE HIGH ENERGY! We can’t seem to find any chill music in your recent streaming history. What’s it like living life at a 10?"

@vytasbu @pym "You’re all over the place. In the good way."

@adam_kelly apparently we're all the same after all. 🤔🤔🤔
Gaurav Mathur
@adam_kelly @chrismessina some ML algorithm learned to classify everyone as "energetic eclectic" because it made the viewer feel good about themselves? 😄
Sam Feldman
@vytasbu @pym @timbitzen Maybe the people that comment on a website for discovering new things are just eclectic :)

Hello, Product Hunt! I'm Matt, a Creative Developer at GLOW, and I worked on the design & front-end of Spotify.me for our client Spotify for Brands. To give some background on the project (and as some of you have already guessed ✅), our goal for the site is to showcase Spotify’s advertising platform, specifically how Spotify is able to understand people from how they stream. By logging in with your Spotify ID, you are able to get an idea of what your streaming says about you. We built this with the Spotify for Brands team and used their existing public API with some of their proprietary research to lift the fun and exciting insights that you see here. Spotify.me will officially launch globally in 8 languages this coming Monday.

@mtwt2c This is a bit odd – 5.5:00 PM? And the graph is between 12am-4am only? Assuming it's a bug?

nice UI to showcase what data can Spotify leverage to target its userbase? marketing stunt for b2b?
Seb Jachec
@marcbc Looks like a Spotify for brands showcase from the 'Contact Us' section description and logo

@iamsebj yep, they're explaining to brands how they are segmenting users based on their listening habits here https://spotifyforbrands.com/us/... . What I meant is that it's interesting (smart) how Spotify seems to be releasing something for its users in this page (and gets them engaged checking, discussing and sharing about their streaming habits), while it's actually releasing a product for brands.

Neat idea, but a bit concerned. I've been using Spotify for at least 7 years and my lifetime top song / artist are from the same artist – which I've never heard of or listened to. Makes me question the data a bit...
Hafiz Azman
@chopeh same here! I have a feeling it's only the last few months of listening or something like that, @mtwt2c could you confirm?
Pete Lacey
@mtwt2c @7thbeat I actually checked on Last.fm; I've never listened to the artist that was supposedly my top of all time...

The information, about who and when I listen to Spotify, was clever and intriguing, the Spotify.me playlist they suggested was awful.

Also it noted I listed to 28% Soundtracks, 22% Scorecore and 18% Video Game music and said that I love upbeat music and like to dance to it. I don't, most my pop music is by artists that have upbeat songs, but I prefer their slow songs, so not sure where it's getting the information from. In fact, only 16% is Post-Teen Pop so really not sure about that.

Pros:

Generating information about how I listen is clever

Cons:

The playlist at the end was awful, like they didn't learn a thing and suggested strange selections

Really fun and nice design! I'm high energy and eclectic 😄

Hmmmm I'm also experiencing unlikely "Most Listened To" results. However, I have noticed Spotify significantly stepping up their game in the realm of suggesting and auto playlist creation. It's keeping me from Apple Music for sure. Amazing Spotify has been able to remain so dominant against some really heavy hitters.

Spotify.me is about not spending hours making playlists. Instead its listening to what you like and the algorithm developing one for you. It brings in music that you would not find on your own into your playlist to make your own sound.

Pros:

Playlist development using your listening profile. Thumbs up/ down feature enables listening to some cool music based on your own preference

Cons:

Just a bit too spooky ;-)

I thought I was more of Hip Hop kind of guy. But I like Pop better apparently!

Very cool! Similar to what last.fm does with the 'Listening Report' but with lots of new data points.

Interesting marketing vehicle for their attempt to go after Muzak/Mood Media with Spotify offshoots SoundtrackYourBrand to play the music in store and SpotifyForBrands to fill that data out on the backside.
Avi Zuber
It was a little bit off, but all in all very cool. I wish there was a way to let them know where they were wrong to help their algorithms improve. Very happy they made this.
Cody
Great design and actually pretty cool info!

Have been waiting for something like this for a long time! I've been always looking forward to the end-of-year statistics email. Now I can always just check spotify.me. Awesome product, thank you!

Blown away by this! The potential for helping brands understand their audience through music is the definition of 10x thinking.
Artyom Podluzhniy
The design is delightful! And information is helpful for me :) Thank you, Spotify, I think you've created the greatest app. I'm using your service for a long time and not going to stop :)

This is a really smart marketing play from "Spotify for brands" (based on the contact form at the bottom)

That's a nice tool for data freaks like me. Before to get a similar result, I was counting on Last.fm, scrobbling everything from Spotify there and using data visualization tool. They say I stream like a Partier 🎉 Hell Yeah!

@picsoung Me too, but my most frequently played track is "Baa Baa Black Sheep" by Caspar Babypants, so don't read too much into it. :)
