Spike upgrades the way you work, saving you and your team time, sanity, and a lot of headache. Cutting the distractions of old-fashioned inboxes, Spike gives you the cleanest, fastest productivity tool, all from within your inbox.
I've been a long term user of Hop. Good job Spike.
Here's what I need - and if you do this I will pay $100 for the app.
1. Add person to contacts: I would like to add/edit/delete contacts from the app.
2. Email to appointment: This is a big one, and this alone will be a killer feature.
Let's say i get an email from 3 people 1@mail.com, 2@mail2.com, and 3@mail3.com.
Lets say 1 and 2 are in my contact DB.
I want to to be able to convert my email (3 people) into an appointment/calendar request.
It should create a new calendar appointment, use the subject of the email as the subject, include all the recipients as invitees - I can then set date/time and be done with it.
3. Be able to send from finder to Spike, select file and click send.
PS: I hear that #2 is patented by MSFT (not sure if that's true), But you can do it on Outlook & only on Outlook. That's the reason my sales/bd team still uses Outlook.
Still no access to full IMAP folders, no full synch.. still not a standard email client.
Hop/Spike should be advertised more as a messenger, at the moment.
My wife and I have adopted this app wholesale. We live in it. We have feedback and feature requests. If the developer would like us to post here, let us know. We're happy to provide.
Pros:
increases comprehension & retention w/paradigm-shift to "talking"; makes email more approachable and engaging as a task; eliminates bullshit
Cons:
Just not mature yet - needs more complete feature set.
Automatically sending emails to my contacts without even asking is a dick move. Now everybody is irritated with me and I'm irritated with your product. Ignore your "growth hacker" and exercise some restraint. If the product is good it will grow organically.
Pros:
Clever design paradigm.
Cons:
Creating a group automatically spammed everybody in the group with an invite email.
I use Spike at work and there are some things I like and some I don't, but overall it makes my life easier and helps me avoid confusion. It does not group all messages from each email address together, but rather separates the automated messages. That's great for me because I get a lot of emails from email addresses that send both automated and "manual" emails. That way I can delete all of the automated messages at once, while keeping the actual communication between us intact.
I DON'T like the fact it inserts a non-removable self-advertising link above the signature and it does not even let you know it does that. Spike is a free product so I understand why the have to do that BUT they should inform users in advance because they might NOT be OK with it :)
Also, no way to print an entire email conversation/thread... Would love to see that feature soon.
Hi! Awesome product. Just one thing that I didn't understand. Why can't I create an account with you guys and when I log into other devices it's already synced? Cheers
Hey guys, Spike looks good, indeed. I would like to publish an interview with you at https://startupradius.com/ :) completely for free, fill the "Submit Your Story" if interested!
@kugihama We all do. That doesn’t mean you can get access to all your IMAP folders and stored messages that are longer than a certain X weeks time in the past. Read the TOS.
I’ve been eyeballing Spike since it’s beta Hop days. I always felt that I needed a few things in it to make it my own.
It took a while, but since the latest releases it is fairly easy to say:
Spike is now my favourite email client, both on mobile, web and desktop.
A solid daily driver that I will even recommend for group work whenever possible.
Well done guys. Email sucks and you make it the way it should be then some.

It turns email threads to conversations which is very nice.
Also the way it separates real email from newsletters - it's so simple but works excellent.
Pros:It's very useful
Cons:No dark theme (yet?)
