Hey everyone 👋 I'm Artem, CPO and Co-founder at Spellar AI. We're thrilled to bring Spellar to the Product Hunt community today! A bit about my own journey: Years ago, when I joined my first international company, I passed the interview in English and was stoked. But then came the day-to-day interactions. I was so nervous about speaking English for the entire first year that I wrote scripts for myself for every meeting. This helped me feel more secure in what I said, but imagine the prep time! That's when I realized there's got to be a better way—and thus, the idea for Spellar was born. We are excited to help you conquer your English-speaking fears, just as I wish I could've conquered mine way back when. I can't wait to hear your feedback and answer any questions! Let's take your English to the next level, together! 🚀 And by the way, which features are you most excited to try?
Dmitry Panshin
@mattisssa, Congratulations on launching Speechy on Product Hunt! I'm excited to see how this app will transform language learning for many. Best of luck, and I'm eager to give it a try!

Hi! I must say I'm thoroughly impressed with the idea and concept behind it. Speaking from personal experience as a non-native English speaker, one of the initial barriers I faced was the overwhelming fear of making mistakes when communicating. I often found myself overthinking each phrase, sometimes to the extent that I'd lose my train of thought amidst conversations. Once I overcame this fear, realizing that making mistakes was a part of the learning curve, I began to err on the side of over-communicating, not always paying attention to the clarity of my pronunciation. This sometimes led to misunderstandings or having to repeat myself. I believe Speechy can help me with that and make me sure ensure that people understand me clearly. However, as of now, it seems to cater primarily to MacOS users. Given the potential reach and demand for such a tool, are there any plans to extend support for other platforms? I use a big variety of devices so a web version would be fantastic. Do you consider Android app? It seems to be helpful. So, I can run Speechy on the phone and don't care about suggestions on my screen during live presentation.
Zinovii Zubko
@denys_tsomenko amazing, as It seems like we've shared similar experiences in the journey of improving spoken English. You're absolutely right. Currently, our focus is on the macOS ecosystem. However, our mission is to integrate passive improvement into users' lives as extensively as possible. Therefore, we have plans to expand to more desktop versions and, eventually, include mobile devices as well. So don't forget to subscribe to our new channels to stay informed about upcoming releases! :)
Artem Konovalov 💎
@denys_tsomenko Thank you for sharing your experience and for your kind words about Speechy! It's amazing to hear how closely your journey aligns with the issues we're trying to solve. The fear of making mistakes and overthinking language is something many non-native speakers can relate to, and we're glad to hear you think Speechy could help with that
Zinovii Zubko
@denys_tsomenko @jax_jackson It's a valid question/request indeed, as we're aware of the market segment we're excluding by currently focusing only on macOS users. However, we have plans to expand to other platforms and create a robust Speechy ecosystem, complete with a well-developed product and mature features.
Zinovii Zubko
Hey folks! My name is Zinovii, I'm CEO & Founder at Speechy AI. I want to share a story about how the project was invented. When I moved to London as a non-native English speaker, I had a funny experience in restaurants. I accidentally ordered a "diet c..k" instead of "diet Cola" many times. After this happened about 15 times, I thought, "I don't wanna order diet genitals anymore." Later on, I realized that apart from dining in fancy restaurants, we often find ourselves in lengthy meetings where English is the primary language of communication. As non-native English speakers, there are always concerns about pronouncing words accurately and using appropriate phrases. Additionally, making simple grammar mistakes can be quite frustrating. This realization led me to develop a tool that can seamlessly integrate into your daily life. This tool can listen to your speech, provide English feedback, and guide you during your online meetings, all of which help you enhance your communication skills in a passive manner. While it's our first public release, the tool is already functioning exceptionally well and can certainly enhance your speaking skills. Moreover, it's currently available for free, so I invite you to join and give it a try!

I was excited to try this out and was immediately stopped by an Apple account being the only login option. You have highlighted it's privacy centric but tying the app to an apple login really defeats that purpose.
Artem Konovalov 💎
@puppycodes Good point, Alice. Appreciate the feedback on the Apple-only login. We're always looking for ways to improve both convenience and privacy. Will definitely consider other login options like Google / Facebook Sign In. Apple was the fastest way for us and since it's just the very first Public Beta launch, we focused on the easiest ways to get it to the release. Thanks for keeping us on our toes! 👀🛠
Alice Barker
@mattisssa thanks for considering my point! That being said i'd push for email + password + 2factor without a third party provider ;)
Yurii
I was lucky enough to try the app in beta and I’m surprised how smoothly it works. The UX is convenient and intuitively straightforward. Are you planning to stick to English language or expand to bigger language set in the future?
Zinovii Zubko
@york_io thank you for your kind words. Currently, we're concentrating on mastering English speaking skills, but we're considering adding Spanish later on. What are your thoughts on this? Which language would you like to see next on Speechy?
Yurii
@zinovii_z thanks for your reply! It’s always great to see founders gaining feedback from the customers :) Personally, I’d be interested in German, which, I’m assuming, to be less popular demand option than Spanish, French or Asian languages. Thus, my question was more intended to see your vision. For me improving English language is about rebuilding my language habits, that I already developed. And while using Speechy for this - I started thinking - what if I had access to it when I just started learning English. To add to this - I’ve just started learning German a week ago. I’d be interested in learning correct pronunciations from the very beginning. So, was very interested to learn about this vision for Speechy. As I’m very enthusiastic about the app.
Artem Konovalov 💎
Hi Yurii, Thanks for your great feedback! We're really happy to hear you're excited about Speechy. Your idea about starting with good habits in a new language like German is spot-on and something we're planning for the future. Thanks for being such an awesome part of our community! https://share.cleanshot.com/PRYh...

I've been using Speechy for a while now, and I must say that certain features have genuinely impressed me. The ability to check grammar and pronunciation has proven to be incredibly useful in fine-tuning my communication. While it might not have completely transformed my life, it has certainly made a positive impact on my online meetings. Kudos to the team for developing such a handy tool!

💡 Bright idea
Amazing work guys, I really like the concept and this is one of the best applications of AI I have seen. The platform you have built offers limitless potential for adding new features, and I imagine it can grow into a tool that can help with speaking skills in general. Do you already have a plan for what is coming next? Feature request to consider: would be great if it could assist in speaking to women.
Zinovii Zubko
@arthur_khusnullin Thank you so much for the feedback. Rest assured, we have planned and already scoped out a bunch of features for the near future. Some of these include: #1: Further improving our core feature of English speaking analysis. #2: Advancing our Speaking Copilot for real-time suggestions. As for your request, I think it could be a good addition to our Speaking Copilot to boost your confidence when speaking to the opposite gender. How do you envision this? Would you prefer having it real-time with online tips? Do you think suggestions like "imitating the speaking style of a popular celebrity or movie character" would be useful for this specific use-case?
Artem Konovalov 💎
@arthur_khusnullin > Feature request to consider: would be great if it could assist in speaking to women. Ahaha, Arthur this is the nice one 👍💡

Hats off to the development team for their excellent work!

A cool and useful tool that can really help me overcome language barriers. Currently I am working with a tutor, but I really need a tool that can communicate with me at any time that is convenient for me: during the day, at night, when I'm in the shower, when I'm on the go, or when I'm cleaning. I believe that Speechy will become a 24/7 tutor for me. Also, I'm very interested in what new functionality will be developed in the near future?
Artem Konovalov 💎
@dasha_sudarieva Hey, thank you for the feedback! Regarding the functionality, we have tons of plans for it. Firstly we want to focus on fixing bugs and issues we found during the launch. But in the near future we're going to work on UX improvements and how to make users' lives easier and for example to start recordings more convenient. Stay tuned to keep updated! ✌️

After testing co-pilot for some time, I can say, that's something I have looked for quite a long time. Developing through my career at some point starts requiring a decent level of English, let's see if Speechy will help me speed up my growth. Always was curious about how would I sound without my hard accent, is there any plan to make a user's generative voice to show how things ideally should sound and keep personality? Best of luck for the team!
Zinovii Zubko
@dima_uvarov Thanks for telling us about your experience! It's really cool that Speechy fits what you've been looking for. About your question, making a user's voice sound right while keeping their personality is a neat idea. In the app, you can already click on the pronunciation mistakes to hear them in both US and UK English - based on your profile settings. We're also planning to add a more advanced "accent analysis" feature in the next update. This will help the app guide you to reduce your accent over time if that's what you're aiming for.
 JJackson
@dima_uvarov @zinovii_z It's great to hear the advanced features! Would be cool to hear feeback in different accents in future like South African. And even in later versions famous people like for example elon musks voice. Imagine! Would be a cool add on. But otherwise this core functionality is brilliant as is!
Zinovii Zubko
@dima_uvarov @jax_jackson Do you think suggestions like "imitating the speaking style of a popular celebrity or movie character" would be useful for this specific use-case? With that, you could learn/adopt/shadow speaking style of another person whom you found cool
Anastasiia Bondarchuk
Congrats on the launch here! 🌟 Big step, super proud of the Ukrainian team and it’s spirit in these dark times…👏 It looks like an outstanding product and extremely relevant for non-native English speakers. I can relate to the challenges described in the comments, as I was teaching English for a couple of years, and I can provide numerous examples of words misuse/mispronunciation that can seem like an embarrassing situation to be in. I can’t wait to spend more time to test the product and be able to give more thorough feedback afterwards 🙌 In the meantime, would be useful to know if recognition/recommendation models can tell the difference between British and American versions of English? Can I choose the preferred one? Thank you guys, and good luck 🌟 You are stars ✨
Zinovii Zubko
@anastasiia_bondarchuk1 thank you for your feedback. We're a 🇺🇦 startup and take pride in developing a useful product for our community. We recognize the common speaking gap between native and non-native English speakers. During the onboarding process, our app will detect your preferred dialect for improvement and offer personalized feedback on pronunciation, speaking styles, and vocabulary based on it (right now American and British dialects are supported). Although there's certainly room for improvement, this tailored feedback is already available. Therefore, we would greatly appreciate your feedback. Do you believe American and British dialects are sufficient, or should we also consider Canadian, Australian, Scottish, or others? Your feedback is very valuable 🙏
Andrey Andriyko

@andriy_ko Thank you so much for the glowing review! We're thrilled to hear that you're finding Speechy easy to use and effective for improving your English. Your kind words mean a lot to our development team. Keep speaking and improving!

I have been observing evolution of the project from the very beginning when it was absolutely useless and crashed every time. But today I can't imagine my daily English language learning routine without this amazing tool. Thank you guys so much for your hard work.

Hi, my name is Dmytro, I am the COO at Eighth Studio. I was seeking a solution to make the communication process of my sales department more eco-friendly where non-native and native speakers are talking about business. I implemented Grammarly as a great feature, but they cover only text communication, what should I do with the live calls? And then, a friend of mine recommended this awesome app Speechy. I have never thought that I am making so many mistakes in my speech. Simple words, but I said them incorrectly. This app really changed everything in both my live calls and live calls of my sales department with clients. Absolutely must-have option if you want to speak English professionally and correctly. Love it!

@dmytro_dexter Glad to know Speechy's been a game-changer for you and your team, Dmytro! Wishing you continued success in your client interactions. Cheers!
