We believe that seamlessly integrating into the browser whenever a new tab is opened is a very effective way to offer them insights effortlessly.

@corenting From a user perspective there is 0 need to have this as a browser extension, if it just functions like a normal website. I'd understand the decision if there were features like adapting the content based on the browser history or having a floating widget to look up PM terms (just throwing around some ideas here). But since this is just a website with a few links, it makes me wonder what you do with all my data that you get as a browser extension. For me this is not an issue but I can imagine a few people (especially tech-savvy ones) not trying it out because of this circumstance. But this is just a hypothesis from my side, in the end it comes down to what you see in your data and when speaking to customers. Anyway I'd recommend you to have this in the back in your mind and try to validate this. E.g. you could build the exact same tool as a normal website and then see which mode people go for.

@corenting @lrueger The main reason why people struggle with their professional monitoring (which is what we want to fix) is that they don't have the habit of doing it. In that sense, offering you insightful content every time you open a new tab is a much better approach than hoping you'll remember to go on our website regularly – which you won't if you don't have the said habit. 🙃 We don't get any data from your browser, apart from what you're doing on the extension page itself. Chrome would ask you permissions when installing the extension if we'd try to get data outside the extension page, and that's not the case. Thanks for reminding us that it can be scary, though!
