I must say, congratulations on your recent launch on Product Hunt. It's an absolute pleasure to see such an innovative and promising platform like Solcial on this platform. @paolo_degiglio Solcial is like other social media platforms in that users can come back every day to find new content. This might be content that is only available on Solcial, or might be news or just to interact with the Solcial community. Our strongest feature is our ability for users to monetize through their own user token. That and our soon-to-release DM feature should be well received.

What's your go to market strategy? I feel like there might be something to do with riding the cancel culture wave, helping highly influential creators come over to your platform. But you'd need to find a way to make it worth it both for the creator and consumers.
@metatanka Hello Louison! Great ideas! For sure anyone who is canceled is someone we hope to appeal to. Also, we already have “invest-for-subscription” model: when you buy the user token (token of creator) of someone you invest in them and get access to their private content. At the same time, you (the consumer) can earn on token price changes. But being a consumer you also mint your own token and you can start making content or provide any services to attract the interest of other users who will come and buy your token. Such a kind of gamification:)
And before we have mainly been focusing on the crypto community. This is because it's easy for them to understand the sign-up process etc. But we know to change the world we need everyone on Solcial. Hopefully, as our community grows we can reach more Web2 people and expand. And we improve the platform to make onboarding easier for non-crypto people. If you know anyone who might want to try out fully censorship-resistant platforms let us know! Or any feedback is welcomed.
By the way, on Solcial we can also create NFTs very quickly and cheap.

@richard_gao2 Great idea! We’re actually looking at different ways we can utilize AI on the platform. And we already have some thoughts and vision. But will be great to hear everyone. What kind of use cases do you see with AI on social media?
@vadim_voronovskiy1 I see a lot of AI being integrated in social media being algorithms to get the users staying on longer or third party text generation
But I think integrating image generation has a relatively big draw too that's being underexplored. Especially on image heavy apps like instagram and imgur.
Considering you're app is web3 focused, I can see it attracting a lot of NFT people, so it might be useful to integrate an AI image generator + minting NFTs feature.

@therealetch @richard_gao2 Cool idea. As I mentioned before we already have some thoughts about AI implementations on the platform but actually I like the idea of an image generator as I like to use Midjourney and I am excited even if it is just a hobby) And we already have NFT minting feature on Solcial. We will definitely discuss this with a team.

I have a question for you @vadim_voronovskiy1, can you share why you have selected Solana over other protocols for your project?
@hrisanfovs Thank you for your question. Solana allowed us to build a platform where every user has the ability to have their own token and monetize without needing to give up insane fees. Solana we felt was secure, fast, and has a great community.
@vadim_voronovskiy1 - Congrats on the launch. I've been in the decentralized social space for a bit. Questions for you: Is the content stored on chain or in a decentralized system?
If the content is decentralized, how does moderation work? Technically it cannot be taken down. What happens when there is illegal content (e.g., child porn) put on a decentralized system?
If the content is not decentralized, only identity is - people's opinions, thoughts, and content can still be censored.
It is a tough challenge, and I am trying to learn how you guys are taking on this challenge.

@salil_sethi Thank you Salil for such great questions! So we are building to store content on IPFS so there is no centralised server that can censor content. However, this does not mean we are not without moderation. Just instead of having a centralized group of moderators we allow the community to moderate. On IPFS each user hosts a node that pins content. If the content is deemed inappropriate then users will not pin that content and Solcial also won’t pin it on our main node and it will disappear from UI and you will never see it on feeds. This means the content will not be visible and will be reachable only by direct link. However, if a group of people thinks that content is valuable then they can still support the content on their own IPFS node. This allows for political speech to not be censored, but for users to still have a say. Hope that makes sense. Let us know if you have any questions. V3 moderation model is under development and will be released soon.
For now, we have Moderation V2 , which still has centralized components. Some notable features include a sensitivity content filter with options ranging from “Safe Space” to “MadMax”, NSFW tags for 18+ content, and post reporting. You can also mute users who annoy you, so you don't see their comments or posts, but other users can.
