Hey everyone 👋 Gil's here This is one of those tools I built just to solve my own daily frustrations. I was tired of forgetting where I put things, notes in my Notes app, reminders in WhatsApp, links in Slack, ideas in Notion… So I thought: what’s the one place I always check? My email. And just like that, sndmyself was born. I didn’t try to reinvent notes. I just wanted to make it ridiculously easy to send myself a quick thought, idea, or reminder, and have AI help me remember it later. If you end up using it too, awesome. If not, no worries, it already changed my own workflow in the best way 🙏 Happy to answer any questions! Gil

@gil_finkelstein2 Would be cool to add voice note support.

Gil finkelstein

@masump there is :)

KarmadeepSinh Gohil

Just tried sndmyself, super simple way to shoot ideas or reminders to my inbox

Gil finkelstein

@gohil_karmdeepsinh thanks :)

Happy it helped you too :)

What's the fastest way to use it day-to-day?

Gil finkelstein

@chritopher_bond wdym?

Open, write, send :)

Danny Blast

I currently use Boomerang (https://boomerang-app.io/) to do this. You say sndmyself is "ridiculously easy," but it seems like it involves more steps than Boomerang, where I just open the app, enter my note, and hit send. With sndmyself, you've added the step of selecting a category first...why?

Gil finkelstein

@dannyblast the category step was a repeating request from early users.

This small step ensures more organized messages in your inbox

Gil finkelstein

@dannyblast I’m actually going to make some updates. Check the app in the next 30 min ;)

@gil_finkelstein2 Suggestion: remove requirement to enter note text when sending a photo or audio note.

Hey @gil_finkelstein2! This is a very clever idea - congrats on the launch.

Just a note to say you could consider adding a video for how this works to this page or your site - it would be great to get a sense for it before needing to sign up!

Clearly the idea is resonating, this could help convert a few more folks to try it who hesitate to immediately create an account (I'm usually one of them!).

Cheers!

@johnhandler thanks for the honest feedback. Noted!

Nithilan Krishnakumar

Hey Gil. Congrats on the launch. I just had some questions. When I send myself a reminder, why does it immediately come to the gmail? Isnt supposed to show up on the event date? Please let me know. thks!

Gil finkelstein

@nithilan_krishnakumar you send yourself a message via email. Even when you get even to your calendar from any app you still need to approve it or add it yourself. Your calendar is part of your Gmail.

Is this a joke?

I just don't understand the use case here. Why can't I do this with Siri or something equally as easy?

Gil finkelstein

@john_licato Totally fair question, and not a joke at all 🙂

Sure, Siri can send reminders. So can Notes, Slack, WhatsApp, Notion, etc.

That’s kind of the problem.

I found myself scattering thoughts across too many tools. Then forgetting where they were.

But my email? I check that every day, and it already holds most of my important stuff.

So I built the simplest possible way to get a thought into my inbox, frictionless, AI-aware, and future-proof.
Not everyone needs it. But for people who think like I do, it becomes second nature.

Love this, Gil - simple idea but so effective. Trying it out!
