@allanberger The Linkedin QR code feature (still quite hidden in their search bar) is great already, but the Snaplink lockscren makes it even easier!
@_subnet You won't imagine, while trying to connect on LinkedIn with a few people at the Snapchat Meetup pre Augmented World Expo in Vienna last year, exactly this was one of the main reasons that led us to develop Snaplink Wallpapers! 🤗

Great idea, I literally have this problem every week when I attend meetups and meet new people there, we usually resort to WhatsApp QR codes but I’m going to stop doing that now if I can send them to my business / social accounts directly. Thank you Allan & co.!

Cool idea to have a digital business card always ready in form of the QR code. Are you working on an automated way to have the wallpaper set directly from the app instead of having to manually export it and choose it as your wallpaper?

Regarding your question about automating the process of setting the wallpaper directly from the app, it's definitely something we've considered and are actively exploring. As far as we understand, currently it is not possible to set wallpapers directly out of an app on iOS though. It's definitely high priority for us to be able to do this and we're keeping it on our radar!

I imagine if one is at some sort of conference or a meetup then this will be ideal!
maybe make the app free and sell of the users information and use A.i. to categorize them or maybe when they sign up have them categorize themselves.

Conferences, meetups, trade shows and events where you’re getting to meet a lot of people are indeed ideal use cases to have a Snaplink Wallpaper ready at hand on your phone’s lock screen.

Our main driver is that this app provides value in the day to day of doing business, networking, sharing work, connecting with each other IRL and many more various ways a simple URL can point to.

Very intriguing approach. It is a fantastic tool for networking and sharing work seamlessly. I would like to know what inspired you to focus specifically on integrating social QR codes into wallpapers rather than other mediums or methods of sharing.

Regarding your question about our inspiration for integrating social QR codes into phone wallpapers specifically — this is a very good question! We actually made a lot of thoughts on providing Snaplink QR codes for T-Shirts, Business Cards and other physical items where appropriate and useful. We're having plans to explore these directions as well.
We thought we'd start with smartphones, as they are an object that we carry with us all the time, and easily customizable to your preference on the fly.
In the day-to-day we scan QR codes or look for ways to connect with each other by having to navigate ourselves in certain apps e.g. Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok or LinkedIn to find a QR code and ways on how to scan them (usually with the integrated camera of an app) — or by writing phone numbers and names down and navigating through your phone's operating system.
So why not take a shortcut and make connecting effortless, quick and easy and have the preferred way to connect on your lock screen directly (without having to unlock your phone or having to carry around an additional physical item like your business card) and scannable for the default camera of today's Android or iOS smartphones? 😊
