Snap Camera lets you apply Lenses to your face while using your computer's webcam. Utilize Snap Camera in your favorite third party live streaming or video chat applications by selecting Snap Camera as your webcam device. .
Why create a dedicated hardware device (i.e. Facebook Portal, Echo Show, et al) when you can just launch a desktop video chat app with lenses for Mac and Windows?
Wicked smaaaht. Are Sponsored Lenses a part of the distribution too? Imagine a Twitch player with a huge following using a Sponsored Lense on an hour long feed.
I can imagine Snap then charging advertisers some type of rate for that distribution or "air time" in the future.
Wow, amazing app. Gonna be a great tool for the streamers. Tried few snap lenses and very impressed. it's definitely an amazing push by Snap towards gamers and streamers.
.
If they added just a Photo and Video recording button in this app, we all could have enjoyed a great PC webcam app ;) (I know they are designed for streamers, but adding a photo/video capture button and send it to storage could be very amazing, they could even add some small watermarks to the photos for branding purpose)
.
Any possibility of Skype integration ?? @evanspiegel
The news for them is enough. Nope. I just downvote(Yeah just only personally). It is just a desktop version I think. Because from Snap? In PH, there are already many awesome products based on an independent idea.
Honestly, I am loving this been playing with it for a while trying on new lenses, however, my only wish is that we could search lenses by creator names.
This product is sinister. You can't see all the crazy terms it has until you installed it, and even after I delete it , the choice keeps pooping up automatically and forcing me to switch to it, and then I have to switch back. Super annoying, don't get.
