SideInves.io is a marketplace where you can find people who are interested in buying your business or invest in your business and provide you proper guidance, and in return, you can offer some equity of the business.
While this has got an absolutely cool MVP, the site could have used a pre-launch community. How? There should have been a waiting list or community of entrepreneurs who would have dropped the first 20 listings. I saw 3 there. If I also had a very obvious button to get notifs of any future, I would not mind. Having 3 side projects to invest in is good but could be better.
@daniel_obiokeke Hi Daniel, you got a point here. The site has "Email Notification" option at the bottom of homepage but I guess it is not visible to all the visitors. I need to highlight it or show it in a popup. *Suggestion noted*
I like the idea but not that you have to pay to see the info... Why not getting a cut in the investment or the side-project purchase? You will also align your interest with those of the people selling or looking for investment. I think that's a healthier relationship.
This is just my opinion but anyways, good luck with your project! Looks promissing
@yago_martinez_falero_hein Hi Yago, the main reason for this is to stop spam, like other marketplaces, users get a lot of spam messages from people who are not even interested in buying but they are messaging just to get more info about the product.
This was the efficient way I came up, but I am open to suggestions let's see in which direction things may go
@yago_martinez_falero_hein user can just visit the site and contact the site owner directly...
I am working on a business model, will update on the website soon :)
@heyarviind This is an amazing product! I am going to submit all my side projects that are making revenue profitably on this platform. I am not sure about raising funds for them yet, but would love to get in touch with potential investors and see my own product from their point of view.
Congrats on the launch!!
I like the overall idea, and the differentiator where you can actually invest instead of buy.
Requires more projects on the platform to make it a regular place to go to!
Congrats on the launch! Love the concept and simple design. Besides the $ investment, can buyers pitch how they could add value to the business? Often sellers are looking for more than just money when giving away equity
@brianyun Hey Brian, you are right... I can add the field where the user can tell what other help they required from the investors. Thank you for the suggestion
π Hello Hunters,
My name is Arvind, I'm an indiehacker and maker of this app I've been working way too hard on my side projects and few of them actually worked. While building the projects, I realized that if I could get some support from the community, I can bring many more ideas to life and earn some money.
I lacked business knowledge and because of that I was not able to generate enough revenue from my side projects/startups and ended up selling them to someone who has near to no knowledge of coding, and we both messed the product. I thought if someone could help me with the sales and I can work full time developing the product. This is the main reason I developed SideInvest.
Here you can find people who are interested in buying your business or invest in your business and provide you proper guidance, and in return, you can offer some equity of the business.
π I hope you will find potential buyers and investors for your next business.
Best,
Arvind
I actually love the idea and the UX is really nice.
On the other hand, I am wondering of the long term investment relationship for a business with their investors. In one hand it can create true leverage for a business to start, get funded and find the right market fit to scale afterwards with more traditional investment actors. On the other end, I am wondering about the equity dilution that could stop VCs or other firm to invest afterwards.
In any case, I think that it is a great idea that will push entrepreneurs to find alternative investment possibilities if the traditional actors don't seem to buy in at first.
@maxime_girres Hey Maxime, I am planning to register the side projects (using stripe atlas or any other platform) and handle the dilution legally. Let's see how it goes and I will keep the updates clear on the website.
Thank you for mentioning your thoughts :)
The UI/UX is simple and I like it. I have a suggestion, instead of asking for payment every single time try monthly subscriptions, that will filter spammers and give the people posting projects a better chance of getting viewed. Congratulations on the launch. Good one.
I like UX of the Sideinvest. Really intuitive to follow. The product itself might find its niche in connecting small investors with indie hackers looking for support. I'm in π
