I'm super excited (and honestly, a bit jittery!) to introduce Shoutout to you all today—after months of caffeine-fuelled nights and brainstorming sessions, it feels great to finally hit "launch." The idea for Shoutout grew from a simple frustration: After launching my previous startup, we saw an immediate influx of users because it solved a significant pain point. However, our free-to-paid conversion rate was consistently under 5%. This got me thinking: how can we get more value from our customers? So, I decided to incentivize them to post about my product on LinkedIn by offering a free subscription for 15 days. Building this incentivization platform internally was quite a task, and that’s when I decided to turn it into a product itself. And hence, Shoutout was born. Shoutout does exactly that: 🎉 Customers engage by writing reviews, creating user generated content, pulling in new users. 🎉 Customers get motivated to take certain actions like - Book demo’s, upvote your product, fill form responses, engage with your team. 🎁 In return, they get free subscriptions, extended trials, exclusive discounts, or even cash credits. 🚀 It's a win-win: users get more from products they love, and businesses achieve more acquisition & engagement from customers. @memphys_sk Thanks :) Since we can run different kinds of campaigns on Shoutout, the way to measure effectiveness is slightly different. Acquisition campaigns: Here we look at the number of content pieces published by customers about your product/brand. The content pieces could be reviews, posts, videos, etc. Onboarding campaigns: Here we look at how many users complete the onboarding on your platform, and what percentage complete the incentivized steps in the onboarding. For example, let's say you have a product which supports Hubspot integration, and you ask the users to connect their Hubspot account to experience it, but it is not mandatory. To encourage more users to connect their Hubspot, you could incentivize this step. Once a user connects Hubspot, you just need to send an event to Shouout using our SDK and the users would be rewarded instantly. Engagement campaigns: In case of engagement campaigns, such as get getting your customers to fill a NPS survey, we look at the response rate.

Are you incentivising power users differently than new users? Power users are the best advocates for your product, and they can bring in high-intent users through word of mouth. Congrats on the launch! Through my experiences working in multiple startups, I feel the pain of low conversion rates from free to paid plans. Incentives are definitely needed and businesses need an easy way to hand out and collect profits from those as well. @kehui_guo The way we have thought about Shoutout is to make sure that incentives are in control based on the revenue company generates. That's why if you notice we have rewards which connects product benefits to customer actions. That's how we make sure that marketers don't have to spend outside the ecosystem and can run campaigns by attaching product benefits!

Custom rewards: Companies will be able to reward users with their platform specific currency, such as their own credits system, or by unlocking some features for the user. 2. User referrals solution 3. Analytics integration: Ability to send analytics events to your analytics solution of choice 4. A lot more widget customization options 5. Mobile SDK: To show rewards within Android and iPhone apps.

@shobhitic Hi Shobhit. We support two different kinds of actions: 1. Actions which are performed on an external platform, such as G2, and require manual review of submissions. For these, you can manually review the user generated content for authenticity and approve or reject the submission in click of a button. 2. Actions which are performed inside your own product, such as inviting team members. In this case, manual review is not required. Instead, your product can send us an event when the user completes the action, and we automatically reward the user. In either case, we integrate with your payment provider (Stripe and Chargebee right now) and process the reward automatically. We also take care of notifying the user through in-app notifications and email notifications.

@kyrylosilin Thanks for checking it out. We support four different reward types: 1. Extended free trials 2. Limited time access to paid plans 3. Discount coupons 4. Cash credits The rewards can be customized for each offer that you create and you get to decide the parameters of the reward, such as how many days should be extend the trial by, or what should be the amount of cash credit awarded. @tim__pouw Hi Tim. From what I have seen of Cello, it focusses on just the user acquisition aspect, that too with user referrals as the only strategy. Shoutout, on the other hand, let's you incentivize customers throughout their lifecycle. - Shoutout helps you acquire new users (through incentivizing writing reviews, testimonials, user generated content) - It helps you onboard them successfully (through incentivizing adding team members to the account, getting on demo call, connecting third party systems, etc) - It helps you keep track if they are happy with your product (through incentivizing NPS surveys, calls with Customer Success team, etc)

Is this another AWS story? We'll find out! It's so cool to see a tool born from a company solving their own internal issues (and finding so much more PMF because it's a widely recognized problems for so many). I love how simple it is (MVP built in 2hrs?!). It also makes a lot of sense to build this into the user journey. I have a feeling lots of companies will start adopting this. One suggestion, why not put Cohesive's story up front?! It's a fantastic brand name + it explains how Shoutout was born. It's such a great case study. Anyhow, congrats @vaibhav_sinha1 and team! @tonyhanded Thanks for the kind words Tony. Once I solved the problem internally for our own use case, I talked to a few marketers and founders to validate the problem statement. Got to learn a lot from those conversations. The first version of the product, that I was planning to launch 2 weeks back did not have customer onboarding and engagement related incentives. While it was in the pipeline, the conversations with founders helped me understand how critical those are, and a lot of them got excited to hear that the feature is in the works. Hence I decided to postpone the launch and build those first. Great to see that more people are relating to those use cases :) I you would want to give the product a try, I'd be happy to work with your team and get it up and running. @savan_kharod1 Absolutely. You can add any task to be performed on any platform and decide to reward the user with any of the supported reward types. In fact, you can even reward users to perform tasks on your own platform. For example, if you were Notion, and you wanted to build your library of publicly available templates, you could create a task for it. Whenever a user would then create a template, you would send an event to Shoutout using the SDK and we would automatically reward the user.
