Hey Product Hunters 👋 I'm Vaibhav, the creator of Shoutout. I'm super excited (and honestly, a bit jittery!) to introduce Shoutout to you all today—after months of caffeine-fuelled nights and brainstorming sessions, it feels great to finally hit "launch." The idea for Shoutout grew from a simple frustration: After launching my previous startup, we saw an immediate influx of users because it solved a significant pain point. However, our free-to-paid conversion rate was consistently under 5%. This got me thinking: how can we get more value from our customers? So, I decided to incentivize them to post about my product on LinkedIn by offering a free subscription for 15 days. Building this incentivization platform internally was quite a task, and that’s when I decided to turn it into a product itself. And hence, Shoutout was born. Shoutout does exactly that: 🎉 Customers engage by writing reviews, creating user generated content, pulling in new users. 🎉 Customers get motivated to take certain actions like - Book demo’s, upvote your product, fill form responses, engage with your team. 🎁 In return, they get free subscriptions, extended trials, exclusive discounts, or even cash credits. 🚀 It's a win-win: users get more from products they love, and businesses achieve more acquisition & engagement from customers. The best part, this all happens on auto-pilot. It’s definitely a great idea. Especially useful for companies that offer Freemiums. I know first hand how difficult it can be to convert tree users to paid. I also know that it ain’t easy to make those users take up your incentives and offers. My guess is Shoutout solely relies on the email addresses ? Or are those incentives promoted in app too ? Asking because many free users opt out of email marketing therefore Shoutout wouldn’t be as effective if only email is being used to notify the users. Either way congrats on the launch and I hope to give it a go and see how it works myself.

@simona_o_neill3 Hi Simona We have a widget that gets added to your application by adding a couple of lines of code. The incentives are promoted within your application through that widget. We do not rely on emails at all.

Is this another AWS story? We'll find out! It's so cool to see a tool born from a company solving their own internal issues (and finding so much more PMF because it's a widely recognized problems for so many). I love how simple it is (MVP built in 2hrs?!). It also makes a lot of sense to build this into the user journey. I have a feeling lots of companies will start adopting this. One suggestion, why not put Cohesive's story up front?! It's a fantastic brand name + it explains how Shoutout was born. It's such a great case study. Anyhow, congrats @vaibhav_sinha1 and team! @tonyhanded Thanks for the kind words Tony. Once I solved the problem internally for our own use case, I talked to a few marketers and founders to validate the problem statement. Got to learn a lot from those conversations. The first version of the product, that I was planning to launch 2 weeks back did not have customer onboarding and engagement related incentives. While it was in the pipeline, the conversations with founders helped me understand how critical those are, and a lot of them got excited to hear that the feature is in the works. Hence I decided to postpone the launch and build those first. Great to see that more people are relating to those use cases :) I you would want to give the product a try, I'd be happy to work with your team and get it up and running. Optimizing the sign-up to activation funnel is a challenge every startup faces, and I see that Shoutout is definitely addressing this need. 🙋🏻‍♂️ I have a question? Are you incentivising power users differently than new users? Power users are the best advocates for your product, and they can bring in high-intent users through word of mouth. Hence, treating them differently can help in driving better results for your product. Looking forward to seeing Shoutout's impact!

Custom rewards: Companies will be able to reward users with their platform specific currency, such as their own credits system, or by unlocking some features for the user. 2. User referrals solution 3. Analytics integration: Ability to send analytics events to your analytics solution of choice 4. A lot more widget customization options 5. Mobile SDK: To show rewards within Android and iPhone apps.

Congratulations on the launch! Turning free users to paid is a real growth problem and I've not seen a solution like this before. I've been an early user of Shoutout and absolutely love using the product. It has a unique gamified way to place the right incentives at the right spots to not only spread awareness about your product but also increases the pace of converting active users to paid. Love it!

This seems like a great way to manage that ambassador programme and track who's published content to earn a reward.

Sounds like an interesting tool. Asking out of curiosity, do you guys have the ability to add custom tasks like Review us on XYZ portal and get Y?

@savan_kharod1 Absolutely. You can add any task to be performed on any platform and decide to reward the user with any of the supported reward types. In fact, you can even reward users to perform tasks on your own platform. For example, if you were Notion, and you wanted to build your library of publicly available templates, you could create a task for it. Whenever a user would then create a template, you would send an event to Shoutout using the SDK and we would automatically reward the user.

@rahul_agarwal23 Hi Rahul. Right now we don't do revenue attribution, because majority of the campaigns that you can run with Shoutout don't have a direct way of tracking revenue. For example, you could run a campaign to get your customers to write a G2 review for you. Because of the high number of reviews, you would get more visibility on G2 from visitors, and some would finally convert to your customers. But we won't be able to attribute the new revenue to the campaign you ran.

Congrats! A few weeks ago, I was inquiring about the reward program tool in the PH community, but I didn't find any that were particularly suitable. I was already planning to develop one myself, so I was very happy to see Shoutout. I will look into it to see if it meets my needs: I hope that both parties can receive rewards for registrations and subscriptions made through the invitation link.
