That there is no bot in the meeting is a neat feature, but curious about the privacy aspect: do attendees get notified somehow that they are being recorded?

@jopie Hey Joep, thank you for your comment! While we strongly recommend users check and follow applicable laws, we don't yet have features to help users do this more conveniently. We are considering features like Shadow automatically sending emails to participants ahead of time to get consent, as you mentioned.

@jopie @jaythesong Great, had the same question. I really don't like having bots in calls, and this looks like a great solution. A feature to get client consent would be super helpful!

I like this product for my meetings. The automatic task completion and follow-up emails are fantastic and I appreciate how well it integrates with Zoom and Slack. I'm curious to know how this tool handles multiple speakers during a meeting.

This is interesting, I think it will be helpful for me personally, if the website explains more about HOW the AI works. My assumption is it is listening all the time and knows when conversations have started. Is the AI on device? And how does pricing work?
Great idea though, since bot always creeps people out.

@tonyhanded Hey Tony! Shadow isn’t listening all the time actually, it’s better than that! If you turn on auto pilot mode, it’s able to detect when you’re starting a meeting or conversation through the initiation of an app like zoom, meets, or huddle and that triggers it to start and finish with you.
@tonyhanded Hey Tony, thank you for your feedback. We will add more information on how the AI works as you mentioned! It doesn’t listen all the time; rather, it observes a couple of statuses on your device, such as microphone activation, and only listens to your conversation when you are in a meeting. As for transcription and speaker diarization, these are done locally on your device, but generating meeting notes and outlines is done using APIs!
This looks really good! Does it run ML locally or does it make external API calls to complete tasks like create transcripts from conversations?
Is there any information on how it works? My biggest concern atm is privacy

Why is most of the content marked as "coming soon"? I couldn't properly test the app due to this 🤔
Another issue - the video showcases integrations, but I couldn't find information on how to configure them within the app.
@mattisssa Hey Artem, thank you for your comment! You got us - not everything we promised in the concept video is there yet. However, 'most' features are actually available, except for recording video and cloud sync!
I've been using Shadow for a while, and it's only gotten better and better. I love it. It works automatically, I don't need to press anything and I'm not adding another bot into the video call. Plus it works across like everything. It's pretty awesome.

I was in search of a note-taking app without a bot having to be present in all of my meetings. I literally JUST discovered this today via Reddit w/o prior knowledge of the launch, so ironic. Love to see that the team is actively building this from the ground up. Congrats team! You have my support! 🙌

@jerrywjeong no need to connect as a plug in. Once you have Shadow on your computer, it’s able to detect when you’re using your apps if you activate autopilot mode!

Hey, congrats on the launch! It seems like it provides a "no bots" experience. But how does it comply with all the major platforms in terms of privacy? Is there any indication that the call is being recorded?
@semanser Thank you Andriy for your comment. We are considering providing a feature that allows users to overlay a sign on their camera to show they are using Shadow, but it isn’t on the platform yet. Currently, we strongly recommend users to check and follow their applicable laws.
Absolutely love this. Having this run locally is a game changer. Brilliant experience so far. All my meetings get recorded and I create a database of transcripts. Excited to try the advanced tools.

Great Idea! as a product manager i hate it when extra meeting bots everytime join the meet! but the product is only for MacOS right now...not fair! but cheers for the idea

I signed up just to comment on this launch...I usually don't like recommending or commenting on product launches so I didn't even have an account until now LOL
But this product really boosted my work productivity, especially with making records of the meetings...I can now find where that tiny detail was mentioned in the meeting WITHOUT having to listening through the whole LONG and BORING meeting again and again, and even that is a lot easier and can be done faster with the outlines and other "skills" it provides.
Also skill like "extract key insights" are just so good sometimes i'm just impressed. You'll see what I mean when you try it.
I really hope other people at least try the product and see how much of a productivity boost it provides.
