SendPulse Artificial Intelligence makes e-mail marketing better. SendPulse creates a behavior user profile for each subscriber based on their communication preference, timezone, content, layout, product purchases and many other unique data points. The user profile is than used by the AI platform to not just create the best experience for each user, but to also understand user behavior in groups with lookalike audience. Using dynamic grouping, the AI platform is able to draw a fuller picture of user predictive behavior and create content with best monetization potential.

@konstantyn_makarov thank you for the answer to my first question. I saw that you have segmentation feature. Now, I'm curious what criteria could be used for user segmentation? Some default like gender, location, etc. or I can create my own, more specific segments? Thanks!
Martin Kessler
@bogdan_su @konstantyn_makarov I'd be also interested to learn more about segmentation. As if this is done well, you may be a good alternative to Vero, Klaviyo and the likes.
Eugene
@bogdan_su When you upload your mailing list and make several newsletters, we are able to determine gender and location for the good portion of the list. Then, we also use cross-account information to gather more impersonal (we respect everyone's privacy) and enrich your list with such data. Then, after sending more newsletters and getting some information from your site we may also discover user interests. For ex, if they like cars or bikes, if they are regular shoppers or not. And so on. @bogdan_su, what types of segments are you looking for? Because we are on the early stage, we can add more functionlity faster.
Bogdan Su
Looks like a great tool. Btw, do you use any email enrichment service (i.e. clearbit.com) for personalization or all the data is collected by you?
Konstantyn Makarov
@bogdan_su Bogdan, thank you for your question! In addition to traditional segments that are based on the data you have about users you can have segments that are based on user behavior. You can also combine traditional segments and behavioral segmentation and create your own very specific groups of subscribers..
Ihor Shevkoplias
@bogdan_su Thank you. Clearbit looks very interesting. Do you know other good sources of data about users? P.S. I checked out your project, very interesting idea. I had been an avid game player in the past and would love to check my stills :)
Vinit Joshi
@shevkoplias You can also check out FullContact...they are similar to Clearbit
Ihor Shevkoplias
@vinitjoshi8 Thank you, FullContact is an interesting service! I will have a closer look at them.
Bogdan Su
@shevkoplias another one that I know is FullContact, but you might check this Quora thread https://www.quora.com/Are-there-... for some more P.S. Thanks for the kind words about Mobalytics=) What games you were playing?
Artur Kiulian
Looks cool, so how does it learn the patterns? How are you guys beating the cold start?
Ihor Shevkoplias
@arturkiulian Thank you, Arthur! We have started as a transitional email service provider and we have collected enough data about behavior of email recipients. We used that information to create user segments. When we do not have much information about the user, we allocate it to the segment(s) based on that small bits of information that we have.
Konstantyn Makarov
@arturkiulian Our user profiles improve with every email you send to your user. The platform starts to understand what time you are most likely to read your messages, what time you are more likely to have a click through as well as a list of other presences we track. Our predictive modeling with learn and get better with every email and on the fly create the best scenario for a specific user when you want to send them an email and do it silently behind the scene. We would also love to hear your feedback on possible issues you may be having with your messaging and make recommendations.
Eugene
@arturkiulian Hi Artur. About the cold start... Our approach is not to wait while the information is collected. So we ask you to send several newsletters to your entire mailing list. The actual number depends on your subscribers activity. So, at the first time when you create account, this functionality is not available. And it becomes active when you start working and sending. To make patterns, we use data from three main sources - collect it from your newsletter, collect it from your site if you set a tracking pixel, may buy data from such sources as FullContact, White Pages etc.
Roman
Very promising. How do you leverage AI for optimizing open rates?
Ihor Shevkoplias
@romanzadyrako Thank you, Roman! SendPulse AI analyses email, papaviews, events and combines them with third-party data for enriching personalization of the subscriber profiles. Using the big data of previous interactions, SendPulse makes recommendations how to improve the layout, messaging and the type of message to send (email/sms/web push). This will help increase open rates.
Konstantyn Makarov
@romanzadyrako SendPulse creates a user profile based on his previous behavior. All users have a preferred time, look, method to receive messages. Instead of sending all the same email at the same time to all your users our system will calculate the best options based on user profile and send them a personalized, unique message in the best possible time and way. We are alway trying to improve and add to our learning platform. If you think you have specific user data points that should be counted or that you think would be helpful to add to the user profile please let us know.

Is there a way to control the frequency of the blog-newsletter in personality tools or Artificial Intelligence’s advice? Weekly, bi-weekly etc ? Currently the only way I could control is by disabling the auto generated content and choose the days I would want to send out the newsletter for my blog?
Eugene
@yaro How do you send it now? Using Rss-to-Email feature? To find out the best frequency need to try different time intervals and detect how users respond better - in daily, weekly or bi-weekly. It's exactly what AI should do for you.
Lana D
@yaro The quality of your content will also play a big role in how often you should send content. Users can get overstimulated by daily emails if the content is repetitive or offers nothing new. With automated notifications it very important to send them at a time that users are most likely to need/want to read them. AI will help you automate these to avoid under or over communicating with your user. Have you manually attempted to test frequency of email?
Saijo George
this looks solid .. will be trying it out for one of my sites soon.
Ihor Shevkoplias
@saijo_george Thank you. Please feel free to contact me directly on twitter if you need any assistance.
Konstantyn Makarov
@saijo_george would love to hear your feedback. Our next stage will be to automate your AB testing to constantly improve user profile. If you have any preferences of what you AB test we would love to hear it as we will try to get as much points to auto test as possible.
Nail Valiyev
Guys, love sendpule. However I am having one issue with Appsumo deal. Who could I get in touch with from your team?
Nail Valiyev
An amazing tool. Really love it. Guys, I had this appsumo deal but that was attached to my past company's account. I have my email address in that account. I would truly appreciate to get the same appsumo deal. That's unfortunate that I bought the deal under the company's name and can't fully use that deal :/. Would appreciate your support there.
Vlad Vernigora
Any plans to add custom templating? Actually founder convinced me to try SendPulse and to start sending out newsletters.
Eugene
@vlad_vernigora Your founder is genius! ;) Custom templating... Yes, we already have it. You may either use free HTML templates from our library or create/upload your own existing templates. Both options work now. Let me know if you can not find it in the "Templates" section
Lana D
@vlad_vernigora SendPulse offers hundreds of email design and layout options to use with our drag and drop builder to quickly create unique and professional emails. You can also build your emails from scratch. By making all the designs and templates completely flexible no two emails will ever have to be alike. You can replace, add, change each piece of the email with a single click. If you want to know more about a specific editing capability please let us know and we would love to walk you through it.
Eugene
@lanasf5 @vlad_vernigora Also, we are constantly adding new and new templates. For each holiday we add fresh unique templates. And industry-specific templates as well. For AI, templates will be smart, automatically adoptable for the each recipient.
Sergey
Can I send transactional, behavioral and newsletter campaigns using SendPulse? What SMTP do you use as default? Can I connect my SMTP? If I have 500k subs and I send 4M emails monthly how much would it cost?
Ihor Shevkoplias
@ligeo Hello, Sergey, Yes, you can send transactional emails and newsletters using our API. Behacioral features are being developed and API is not available for them yet. We have our own SMTP for sending emails, and we can allocate a range of IPs for your use. The cost for your volume is negootiable, we will contact you with an offer.
Vlad Lishafay
I took a look at a few competitors such as MailChimp, ConstantContact, GetResponse and it appears that the competitors are more expensive provided that you have a significant amount of subscribers. Price is great! I wonder if there any differences or advantages other than price..
Ihor Shevkoplias
@bloodyvlad Currently we place ourselves as an economic alternative for email marketing automation tools that are present in the market and are highly priced. Soon the features that we have in pipeline will place us more strongly in the field of marketing and business development.
Konstantyn Makarov
@bloodyvlad We focus on organically growing our user base with a solid product offering. We dont need to gouge users on prices because we are not overspending on marketing. This allows us to offer lower price to users while focusing our full attention on the product. We are also always open to user feedback so if you want a specific feature or capability please let us know.
Eugene
@bloodyvlad Price does not matter ;) The main difference - MC/CC/GR are doing a service for all (one fits all). We do the service for the more experienced marketers who need to get higher open/click rate. When you send your newsletter, what's important for you?
Eugene
@bloodyvlad ROI is fine! We just need to have a tracking pixel on the thankyou page with order amount as a parameter. So we will be able to optimize newsletter to the better sales volume, but not to the better open or click volume. It may be a different segment of your subscribers list.
Avinash D'Souza
Sounds like a winner if they get it right! *fingers crossed* What behaviour patterns within user groups is the AI trained to recognize? Does the AI make content/engagement suggestions based on these patterns? Even as a classic ESP solution, looks pretty sweet as an offering compared to what's out there...it's definitely the only product I've seen that bundles marketing+transactional+notifications. Pricing looks fair too. Couple of follow-on questions: 1) It looked like the dedicated IP was being bundled for free with the SMTP offering. Is that correct? 2) Do you provide an IP warmup facility?
Ihor Shevkoplias
@avinashdsouza Thank you for your comment and interest in our product. We discover user interests from the recent reactions to sent newsletters - how they read and click. Then we also try match what they do on the sites where we have subscription forms and tracking pixels. It's the first stage. On the next stage we plan to automate some parts of AB testing and content personalization. I'd love to hear your opinion, what user groups you think are important? What suggestions would you like to have - related to improving clickthrus, content or design? As for your question about the SMTP offer - 100K emails are "pay-as-you-go" plan and it does not include a dedicated IP.
Jen Lee
@shevkoplias This looks like an awesome tool. I'm curious about the data you get from the subscription forms and tracking pixels. Would these sites that you track be interest-specific to the user?
Ihor Shevkoplias
@jenleeny The sites where we collect this data are the sites of the specific SendPulse customers. So, if you sell fashion wear, it's all about it, and not about say cars or electronics.
Adam Bowie
@konstantyn_makarov @medvednikov - Looks very cool! We deploy emails from our own internal dedicated IPs. Integration with Sendpulse would be possible by inserting tracking code into our HTML? Interested in agency possibilities as well. Will shoot an email over. Thx!
dunkhippo33
I'm curious what type of customer this is best for? Have a sense of what size list this is best for? For example: I would imagine that the vast majority of email marketers don't have big enough lists for this to make an impact? I.e. if you have say 1k subscribers at say 20% open rate, that's 200 people reading. And let's say that 10% click through -- so say 20 people click. If you can bump your open rate even by 2x, you're really only just getting another 20 people to click...
Konstantyn Makarov
@dunkhippo33 Currently users present the same experience to all subscribers. With our platform each subscriber would have an experience that is optimized for him or her. If a subscriber takes Caltrain every day at 5pm and uses that time on his phone to chat or be on social media than sending him an sms, webpush or facebook communication would have a large increase in likelihood of them opening it, and clicking through. By using many different data points like Geo Location, language, open rate, click through, content, and many more, personalizing every portion of the message we can increase open rate to 50%. Based on how fast the AI learns user preference, the system would allow for customization of the email content as well, increasing in click though rate. As the platform learning progresses we will be able to understand user behavior better by viewing data for digital twins based on their behavior patterns, and use that data to do better predictive modeling. Our current users have a wide range of subscriber count. By increasing open rate to 50% and increasing click through at the same rate we will be able to make a large impact on users overall KPI. As the AI functionality and data continues to grow, so will its ability to make more predictions with a higher accuracy.
Arsen Kazibekov
Do you plan to have a option “Team account” (can invite other people on team to help create the newsletter) and “Email scheduling”, + easily add content “on the go” for iPhone app?
Ihor Shevkoplias
@taparchi Thank you for your question, Arsen. We do have ability to invite users into your account and select roles for each user. Example of roles are Designer, Accountant, Analytic, Editor, Managerr - each of them has access to certain functionality of your acount. In addition to email camgaigns we offer autoresponders which are available even in free accounts. A really cool way to use autoresponders is creating email templates for every occasion and when you need to send information to a person you just met you can add thier name and email to SendPulse and it will go off in a moment. You can do that from our iPhone or Android app too. Of course we also have a classic email scheduler tool. Feel free to try our service and check out all features.
Konstantyn Makarov
@taparchi we make adding content and making changes to your emails simple with our drag and drop builder. You can also save your templates to use and edit at a later time. What content are you trying to change on the go. Are you trying to just change verbiage or full lay out change on the app.
Nikolas Smykovsky
Looks like a great tool! Mobile operators of which countries do you use for SMS mailings?
Eugene
@n_smykovsky We deliver SMS virtually anywhare in the world, here's our coverage map: https://sendpulse.com/features/s.... Does it fit your needs?
elena_ab
I’ve question about SMS-marketing. Like unsubscribe links in Mailchimp's email, will you provide opt out link in SMSt? Like in the case of Mobile-marketing, will I be able to track which user clicked on the links? And what about “display read receipts”, but many people have them disabled so the statistics can be misleading?
Konstantyn Makarov
@yelena_ab Opt-out links for SMS is in our features roadmap. Click tracking for SMS requires charging URL to shortened links and that potentially can decrease clickthrus (recipients are less likely to click an unknown link instead of a link to a familiar brand). You are rignt about stats for text messages - getting read receipts is impossoble so we take into account only delivery rates for SMS.
Ihor Shevkoplias
@yelena_ab Thank you, Elena, for excellent questions. We will look into offering our users custom short links for tracking clicks and for SMS unsubscribes.
Anna Koltsova
Startups and businesses can do product recommendations and Multivariate Testing with Geo/Time Personalization and Artificial Intelligence, right? And customers are likely to buy, saving you all sorts of time and effort and enabling to do cool things like -Send recommendations to customers who bought something a while ago and have been inactive since -Send recommendations at the bottom of your next regular campaign But wait, what if a subscriber hasn't bought anything?
Ihor Shevkoplias
@nyushechka_z Thank you, Anna, for your question! This is exactly the problem we are trying to solve. If the the subscriber has not bought anyting we compare that subscriber to other subscribers and assume that that subscriber will behave similarly. In addition, we will be gethering information about that subscriber and feed it to AI for improving predictions about his actions.
Konstantyn Makarov
@nyushechka_z If a user has not made a purchase they may still have a lot of important data points that we would be able to use to provide them a customized message. For example items user has in cart, items user added to lists or viewed. If a user is just not ready to buy this email tool will make it possible to show them similar items, notify them when item is on sale or remind them to make a purchase. Do you have a specific user case where you are not getting the user to finish a funnel.
Roman Rudnik
Using SendPulse for ~a year now. Really satisfied! nice service as for emails, as for push-messages
Eugene
@rudni4ok Thanks, we like ArcticLine too ;)
