What do you think of a habit app that charges you real money if you skip?

Hey everyone đź‘‹

I’m building a habit app with a twist:

You choose a goal (e.g., meditate daily, work out 3x/week), and if you don’t stick to it, you get charged real money — like $1, $5, or even more.

If you follow through, you pay nothing.

Why? Because most habit apps are too easy to ignore. There’s no real-world consequence. But when there’s money on the line, suddenly it’s a lot harder to skip

Right now I’m just trying to validate the idea and learn from early users.

Would love to hear:

Would something like this work for you?

What kind of habits would you want this for?

Should the lost money go to charity, to a friend, or just vanish?

Open to any thoughts or feedback! 🙏

I think given the state of social media and virality today, something like this could really take off. I like the idea of giving the money to charity - it's like gamified charity and habit-building simultaneously.

@chaosandcoffee thank you Furquaan, appreciate the feedback.

No pressure at all, but once it’s ready, would you be open to trying it out? Could be fun to see how it works in real life.
