OpenAI Founder's Tweet got us 1000s of signups days before our Product Hunt launch
Hey Product Hunt crew,
I’m Tejas, co-founder of Chronicle aka “Cursor for Slides.”
Wanted to share a quick backstage story and invite your feedback.
The Karpathy Bump
Last weekend Andrej Karpathy tweeted a single line: “We still need a Cursor for Slides.” Folks started tagging Chronicle within minutes. What followed was wild:
• 48 h of nonstop mentions on X and LinkedIn
• Traffic spike > 10× our daily average
• A few thousand net-new sign-ups before our scheduled Product Hunt launch
For a tiny team still polishing pixels, it was both exhilarating and slightly terrifying.
Why Chronicle Seems to Resonate
Most AI slide tools pump out nice-looking filler. Great for a classroom project, not for a board meeting. We took a slower, harder path:
• Serious use cases first – investor decks, product launches, board updates, demos
• Free-form smart canvas – move anything anywhere instead of being trapped in templates
• AI + taste – the engine combines narrative structure with Apple-grade typography and spacing
• Attention controls – features like Peek and Deep Hover guide focus so your key point never gets buried
• Widgets over slides – build interactive charts, code blocks, product tours… all without leaving the deck
The result: early adopters say they’re cutting creation time from 10 h to ~10 min while raising design quality.
We’re Live Today
Public beta went up this morning. If you have a high-stakes story to tell, I’d love for you to put Chronicle through its paces.
Thanks for reading and for shaping the future of better presentations. See you in the comments!
