Open Source in RegTech: We're Finally Doing It. Want to use our repos? We'd love feedback.
Hey everyone! 👋
I'm Jeremiah Church, compliance nerd and founder of Comma Compliance, and after ~20 years of working in compliance/tech, I am tired of pretending that Compliance is more secure by being hidden in obscurity. It doesn't. It's just risky. So, while we initially built out Comma behind closed doors, we're opening them now as we grow.
We're open-sourcing the core of our compliance capture tech for WhatsApp and Signal tomorrow on GitHub. No NDA, no pitch deck - just the real code, free to audit, fork, or use. (Apache 2.0 / GPL v3)
While we'd love support, we'd really appreciate feedback when we roll out tomorrow -
what bugs can we fix?
What needs hardening?
Are you potentially going to host this yourself? (YES!? TELL ME MORE! I really do want to learn how people use it.)
Are there any security concerns or edge cases you notice in the capture logic?
What other messaging platforms do you most need capture support for?
Anything else I may have left out!
Compliance should be verifiable... not mysterious.
We're excited to start adding light to the compliance industry, one platform at a time.
