Nutralyze — AI food swaps that explain why (what to eat instead, instantly)

Hi! I built Nutralyze, a mobile app that suggests healthier or more suitable alternatives the moment you type the food (and amount) you want to skip — e.g., “150g fries” → get swaps with a quick rationale.

How it works

  1. Enter the food + amount you’d like to avoid.

  2. AI returns contextual alternatives (similar taste/texture, better macro balance, cooking method).

  3. A “Why this suggestion?” screen explains the logic (calories/protein, cooking method, diet fit).

  4. Don’t like a result? Block it so it won’t appear again.

  5. Diet filters (beta): vegan, vegetarian, keto, etc., to tailor suggestions.

What I’ve learned so far

  • Users don’t just want swaps — they want the reasoning behind them.

  • Adding amounts (g/ml) makes results noticeably more accurate.

  • A personal block list is key for long-term relevance.

  • Short demo videos (TikTok/Reels) help people “get it” fast.

Looking for feedback

  • Is the first-run hint “Type food + amount” clear enough?

  • On the “Why” screen, which signals help most: macro/kalorie info or taste/texture + cooking?

  • For diet selection, would you prefer chips or a dropdown?

  • Managing blocked items: simple list or categories/tags?

Tech: Expo + React Native; multi-step prompting with a structured output format.

If you’d like to try it and share thoughts (especially on the “Why” explanations and onboarding), I can DM a App Store link. Honest critiques are super welcome — thanks! 🙏
