Robo Wunderkind is a modular kit that teaches children the basics of coding and robotics. With just a few color-coded blocks and two apps, kids between the ages of 5-12 can build their own robots and see their ideas turn to life.
Hey Hunters!
Yuri from Robo Wunderkind here. There are three things that we at Robo Wunderkind are passionate about. Coding, robotics, and education.
When we sat down and thought about how to connect all these three into one, it quickly became obvious: we should incorporate coding and robotics into early education and make it accessible to every curious kid. We’ve been on this mission ever since.
Robo Wunderkind is made up of color-coded blocks that can be combined to your liking. They can then be programmed through our two apps - Robo Code and Robo Live - to move, make sounds, detect obstacles, flash lights or even display images of your choice on a LED screen. The simplicity of Robo Wunderkind is enough to clarify the complexity of programming in a way that is digestible by young minds 👶
After our successful Kickstarter campaign, we launched our product in late 2017 and sent it out into the world. In 2018, we launched on Amazon, entered the classrooms all around the world and paired up with amazing NGOs and educational institutions who want to make the world a better place by teaching kids the skills of the 21st century. Just like we do.
Our mission is still nowhere near finished. If you want to join it, please upvote us to spread the word 🙌

@aaronoleary Hey Aaron, thank you for your comment! Currently we have two Apps available Robo Code (state machine programming) and Robo Live (remote controlling your robot in real time). Recently we have also released Python API, for everyone who wants to dive deep into code. You can find it here: https://pypi.org/project/robopyt... If there are some programming possibilities you would like to see Robo Wunderkind to support in the future, please let me know, I would appreciate your feedback! Best, Yuri.
I ordered an early bird set from their original kickstarter campaign. It took a few month longer to deliver but I guess that's normal for Kickstarters that get really big. I have not ordered again yet but I guess now they have them in stock. My cousin loves it so I can recommend this as a good xmas/birthday gift for creative children who are interested in computers or robots. Later Edit: I just found out they are on amazon now :)
@philipp_tiefenbacher Philipp, first of all thank you for being one of our Kickstarter backers! That means a lot to us. Yes, we are in stock now and everybody can get his/her own robotics kit withing 2-3 business days!
The starter kit is a really fun way to get interested in building robots. The app is also pretty easy to use, but the connectivity drop will need to be fixed for a better UX (otherwise a bit frustrating for controlling). I think they have tutorials online as well for additional robots, but haven't gotten to those yet.
Pros:
My brother and I figured things out right out of the box. Very encouraging!
Cons:
Some instructions can be a bit clearer, but I think they normally train teachers first. Connection between the app & robot could be improved
@cupandtheroad Hey Athena, thank you for your comment! Our recent firmware fixed the connectivity bug for the phone models which sometimes had issues, check it out!
My Girls 6 & 11 totally love this Robo. Its fun and great tech and coding learning STEAM tool. We do not have any coding classes here in germany in school - so with this tool the gap is closed in an amazong and fun way.
I love the fact my husband likes to built the Robo in different ways with the kids. He is a IT Consultant. So the three share an interesting gobby now: Robo missions!
Pros:
my daughters love Robo. They are 6 and 11 years and did not have any tech toys before. So Robo helps them explore STEAM in a fun way.
Cons:
None yet - they are still in love with Robo since some weeks and are still learning new things.
