Encryption: "All your messages and files are fully encrypted for your complete peace of mind." - when and where is the content encrypted? What kind of encryption are you using? Don't tell me the one that brings you peace of mind... Privacy (1): " [...] we implement responsible and sophisticated technical and physical controls that are designed to prevent unauthorized access to or disclosure of your content." - Which ones? How about legal interception? How do you comply with the law? Which country's law? Privacy (2): "What is a Private Topic? A Private Topic is a topic that requires the Topic Admin approval before you can have access to a topic or you can be added to a private topic by a member already added to that topic." - how private is a Private Topic? Who has access to its content and how can you assure the user about its privacy? 3rd Parties and law geographical boundaries: "Where are Rivers.IM servers located? To deliver the best performance and security we use regulatory compliant, secure data centers from across the globe." - you mean Amazon? What's the governance? Which country law is used in your contracts? Business usage: "Can Rivers be used by my company? Offcourse Rivers is very well suited to be used inside your organization. Rivers is totally secure and its fully synced Web Client in addition to Android and iPhone allows you to use it easily from your laptop. It's totally secure." - What kind of controls does a company admin have, how do you separate between private and business, how do you comply with DLP and other business specific standards? Where is the data hosted and who has access to it? Boss, your answers are far less than satisfactory for 2019, they're arguably good for 1996 though. Please, hurry up with proper ones and keep us updated! I'm spending my time writing here because I believe you product is better than described or supported, I want to see it succeeding. It's a good start, I've just given it a spin and it works very nicely.

@utestme [] proper encryption of all user information. we use 256 bit encryption algorithms. [] different encryption keys for different users and purposes. Key are securely placed / generated as need and no manual access allowed for any body , [] application deployed on AWS and uses best industry practices [] Strict access and authorization control built in application [] Best industry practices used in company offices, not allowing any type of access on end user data to company people. @utestme # 3 topic modes [] public >> all cube members have access to messages, any body from cube can join if they want to [] private >> only those who are added can see messages, others from cube can send invite to join, admin can approve/disapprove [] secret >> nobody other than topic member knows if this topic exists, completely invisible

@gaurav_kushwaha this is pretty much nothing, you have no idea, have you?
Evgeniy Chernyshov
@utestme @gaurav_kushwaha so both keys and data are securely placed on your servers?
Gaurav Singh Kushwaha
@utestme @evgeniy_chernyshov Yes, as of today we do not use any KMS (key management service) , Both the data and key lies with us with strict access control and zero manual interaction.

I'm struggling to see what the advantage is here for teams, what would this replace for my team?
Vikas Saxena
@d0b0 Businesses and teams particularly small businesses teams continue to use popular messenger services like Whatsapp and Telegram for their team collaboration also. Rivers is bringing evolved functionality of Topics (Public, Private, Secret) as well as ability to invite guests to your team. This gives these teams ability to collaborate better while still retains the speed and simplicity of of their normal messenger apps and not sacrificing for slower performance and confusing UX of some of the email based team collaboration platforms.
Sam Legge
@vikas_saxena1 how does compare to options like Slack? Which is free as well
Vikas Saxena
@d0b0 Comparison is in terms of speed messages delivery and clarity in UX. Also large parts of the world use mobile numbers as most readily added and handy identifier for adding to teams rather than emails. Additionally people are used to messaging features like when was message delivered, who read it and when etc. Teams may want the same efficiency and simple UX that they come to expect from Whatsapp and Telegram on their team collaboration also, which Slack misses, particularly for mobile heavy usage (in comparison to desktop heavy)

@utestme signup can only happen from Mobile as phonebook becomes relevant to invite your team members. Once registered through mobile, one can use rivers freely from web
Onutz Verde
@vikas_saxena1 how can you register with your phone number from web?
Vikas Saxena
@utestme register on a mobile first with a phone number and once you are registered, you can using same phone number access that account on web also
Onutz Verde
@vikas_saxena1 So this is an exclusive mobile auth. Why?
Vikas Saxena
@utestme Only first time mobile is a must. There after you can login both from mobile and web. Mobile gives you access to your phonebook from where you can easily invite your teams to Rivers

I use WhatsApp for dealing with my real estate customers, how can Rivers help me ?
Vikas Saxena
@nancystinson4 Rivers can help you orderly categorize each deal that you are working on in separate topics with your team members rather than having information overload in WA groups Also you can invite people who are not permanently working with you as 'Guests' for specific deals and remove them once the deal is thru. These guests wont have any data of the deal on their devices once you remove them keeping all your information safe with you You can also assign specific tasks to your teams in Rivers through a powerful task management feature
