Rewind for iPhone is a truly personalized AI in your pocket. Browse, search, and ask Rewind about what you’ve seen on your phone. One user said “it’s like having a personal assistant that is everywhere and remembers everything for you”
Here’s how it works
1. 🔍 Browse & search for anything you’ve seen (including screenshots)
Screenshots have long been a quick, convenient way to capture and save data, yet their organization and recall capabilities have been sorely lacking. Rewind takes anything you’ve read in Safari + all your screenshots and makes them instantly searchable (and copy-pastable). You can now preserve & search anything you’ve seen on your iPhone. This opens a new dimension of computing: time.
2. 🤖 Summarize and ask any question using AI
Rewind integrates with OpenAI GPT-4 to allow you to ask any question about anything you’ve seen. Create summaries, synthesize information across apps, or remind yourself how you know someone.
3. 🔐 Private by design
- Private browsing in Safari is not captured.
- Using GPT-4 is optional and only the relevant text necessary to answer your question is used.
- Your data is not used to train AI models.
- All recordings are stored locally and only you have access to them.
@dsiroker Superb idea. I could certainly use this. Any chance you are adding Firefox to the mix? I have never been a fan of Safari and moved away from Google Chrome. I imagine that would be the case for many.
I am a fan of Rewind. It solves a very real problem and is a beautifully designed product. The team pushes out new features at a rapid pace too. Psyched to have it on my phone now! Congrats on the launch Rewind team!
Can the iOS app track anything outside of safari and screenshots? Seeing screenshots and points about tweets you've seen, but guessing that this would require browsing twitter via Safari? Any plans for adding tracking for additional apps (i.e. Twitter) in the future?
@topilarity Hi there. You're right, it would require browsing Twitter via Safari. Please share what other apps are important for you to capture here: https://rewindai.typeform.com/to... We will do our best to iterate on the iPhone app as fast as possible in the coming weeks!
Hey @dsiroker, congrats on the launch. I'm amazed by how the product helps people search for what they need but probably forgotten. Mind me asking - what's the earliest batch of target audience Rewind is targeting?
@dsiroker@brettbejcek Basically earliest batch of users who are also your target audience at the same time (since a lot of the times, the earliest users might not be the best fit target audience)!
@mikeorren Thanks Mike! Be sure to join the Rewind Slack Community to share feedback and let us know how we can improve the product! https://rewind.ai/community
Wow the UI is super clean and very functional. Giving me the feeling of Arc app UI. Awesome to get rewind for iPhone it will be game changer for Safari user but restricting it to safari makes me miss so many things! As first of all I have moved away from Safari/chrome to Arc last year and it’s hard going back. I hope you guys will figure out something at OS level or Apple buys you guys and integrate rewind in spotlight. Too ambitious though;) Goodluck.
@nilsej Thank you so much for the feedback. We really appreciate it. Would you mind sharing what other things are important to capture on your phone here: https://rewindai.typeform.com/to...
This will help us prioritize what we build for iPhone in the coming weeks!
As a user of Rewind for Mac over the past few months, I dreamt of Rewind for iPhone but couldn't imagine how hard of an undertaking it was.
This seems like it would be such a meaty challenge ... to capture most of your browsing on such a 'locked down' device like the iPhone. Very clever use of the Safari Extension API and photo library access to certainly achieve the near unachievable.
Love your work team
Well, you guys are building up something interesting here! Just tried the “Ask Rewind” feature and got an extensive reply of where is the recycling station I was looking for, based on a screenshot I took inside Google Lens. The app was able to point out that I was using Google Lens to translate from Thai to English, and reminded me of the types of plastics that are accepted at the recycling station. Now, any plans of including photos as well? If I can ask Rewind: “What is the name of the florist where I bought roses for my girlfriend?” —assuming that there is a photo that shows the facade and that I'm giving permission to check the metadata— well, that would be a game changer.
@ritaarosemenapz Thanks so much for the feedback Rita! This is great. Be sure to join the Rewind Slack Community to connect with other users and help shape the product: https://rewind.ai/community
dont have an iphone to test it but seems very interesting, have to see it in action.
before the end part of the video im like holy moly they scan everything you do but then it said its stored on your phone! and the founder is videoing himself in front of family photos to make everything more trustable, coincidence? marketing move?
This is so awesome! I love the Rewind app on my Mac and I look forward to using it on my iPhone. The search is so quick and accurate. It's a super second brain for me and something I highly recommend. I am not going to rate this product yet as I have not used the iOS version, but highly recommend that everyone takes a look.
I have been using this app for a while now. It's such a life saver. This is really useful when you do lot of meetings, lot of testing and want to trace back your steps what did you do, what was shared, what was said, how did it break etc.
Rewind for Mac is the most important SaaS subscription I have. It makes me so much more productive because I have a really fantastic visual memory and having a guarantee that you can search through an index of everything you have seen helps me avoid costly moments where I am trying to recall something to no avail. I cannot wait to start using Rewind for iPhone.
Congratulations on launching "Rewind for iPhone"! Personalized AI sounds intriguing. To make it even better, consider adding features like automatic categorization of user data, smart reminders based on user activity, and integration with popular productivity apps. These enhancements could provide users with a more seamless experience. If you're open to connecting on Product Hunt, I'd love to learn more about your product and support each other's journey. Let's connect and continue to innovate together!
I'm an avid user of Rewind for Desktop, and it has supercharged my productivity, both in my professional and persona like. I was dreaming of an iPhone version, and here it is!
Wonderful product, I have been one of the first tester of the desktop version and love how far the products has come. As CEO, I'm always on calls and the summary call function is really awesome. Not to mention the core feature of being able to search for "something that I came across last week". Looking forward to checking out the iOS version of this. Let me know if you guys need any kind of testimonial or help in spreading the word. And thank you @Dan for implementing the feedback so fast.
@dumasderauly Thank you for being with us since the beginning. Your feedback has been incredibly valuable!!! Can't wait to hear what you think of Rewind for iPhone
Big fan of Rewind.ai on macOS - excited to see this iOS app arrival! Would love to see searches of the desktop available on mobile, like an "ask rewind" that could intelligently respond on mobile about your Mac's stored activity.
Keep up the great work Dan, Heidi, and the whole team at Rewind!
So so cool! I've wished I had this a number of times.
Is there a way to proactively store information in rewind? Like when I take a screenshot of something because I know I'll come back to it. I'd rather save something like that in rewind than in my camera roll.
@megan_leinenbach Great question Megan! Anytime you take a screenshot, it will be automatically imported to Rewind! No need to take any action on your part (other than the screenshot) 😀
Can't wait for you to try it out.
Big congrats on the launch! Been a fan for a while, and keen to see how this develops.
I gotta say though; "You can now preserve & search anything you’ve seen on your iPhone" is rather misleading. It looks to only support screenshots and safari, which is about 1% of things i see on my iPhone, and initial testing confirms this... i was wondering if perhaps you've found a way to always be running screen recording?? If i'm mistaken please let me know!!
@bobduct Hi there Bob. Thanks so much for the feedback. I really appreciate it. We are starting out with Safari and screenshots but are hoping to add additional support in the coming weeks. Please let us know which apps are important for you to capture here: https://rewindai.typeform.com/to...
@adamgold7 Great question. All recordings are stored locally and only you have access to them. If you choose to use Ask Rewind only the relevant text necessary to answer your question is sent to GPT-4, but rest assured: your data is not used to train AI models.
