Vurb?

The mobile search space is ripe for innovation and we’re glad to see others working to solve a problem that people face on a daily basis. Vurb is a nice product and they’ve provided users with a beautiful interface. We’ve invested extensively into our own knowledge graph which allows us to intelligently support a huge variety of layered search queries such as “Kevin Spacey comedy movies on Netflix”or “Chinese restaurants on DoorDash" which other search apps aren’t currently able to interpret.

@rohitsatapathy perhaps you can tell us the story behind Relcy :)

@bentossell Mobile is all about here, now, and apps - and porting the web search experience to mobile doesn't help, i.e. skimming through a million links (web was all about documents, mobile is all about apps), or a bunch of text, or waiting for pages to load. That seems like a lot of work on a tiny screen (especially if you are on the go). As a user I'm just looking for the most optimal information presented in a really efficient/simple/consumable way on mobile. So we built Relcy - to take the research out of search :)

I love these apps that try to sit on top of everything I'm already doing. Relcy seems like a solid edition, perhaps even a best-in-class. 😄

Relcy is a really cool product. I'm excited that MyTime (my startup) is one of the apps integrated included in Relcy search. Try searching for "Robert Anthony Salon" in San Francisco and you'll be able to book an appointment from Relcy, powered by MyTime! Love this app - I'm definitely putting it on my home screen.

Interesting - definitely want to try this out. Seems like a Siri-without-speaking alternative or something.

Just installed and I love the simplicity & premise. Excited to try it out in practice this weekend when I'm looking for stuff to do. One question though - why do you guys ask for my phone number in signup? It wasn't a huge blocker for me personally but I wonder if it's a necessity app/business side - I don't see any immediate value in the app for providing my phone number. You'll probably lose out on some potential users because of it.

Brandon, thanks for checking us out! First and foremost, we've made the "Skip signup" button just as visible and the exact same size as the Signup option. It's not at all hidden as it is in many others apps as we highly respect user privacy. As it stands today, you'll have access to the same features inside of Relcy whether you signup or skip. However, going forward we'll be integrating more social features into the app and by having your phone number tied to your account we'll be able to link you with your friends and let you engage with them in awesome new ways inside of Relcy.
