Calendars make it way too hard to find and defend time for your routines. Let Reclaim do it for you. Tell us what you need time for and (roughly) when you need it, and we take care of the rest.
Been using Reclaim for a little over a month now and I'm blown away. I recommend it to basically everyone I know. It's been totally transformational for me personally.
Looks great, although wondering what are the additional benefits of using this service instead of just blocking out recurring times for activities on google calendar? Also left some small comment on your landing page in context, cheers - https://app.usebubbles.com/ercaT...
@tom4 Thanks for the comments! As for your question: this is the really cool part of Habits. A normal calendar block is rigid and makes you always busy at that time, resulting in less flexibility in terms of availability to meet others. What Habits does is dynamically float the time block and keep it as "free" time (so you appear available to others) until your day gets too busy, and then it will flip it to "busy" if your day gets too full.
I've tried every calendar, GTD scheme and schedule AI out there and Habits / Reclaim AI is the first one that's actually lived up 100% to its promise. I can finally seamlessly merge my personal and biz calendar and defend time for habits that are important β without a lot of fiddling with individual time blocks. The Slack integration is icing on the cake β I replaced my Google integration with this. Habits has allowed me to offload several task-based habit apps that don't work for me because they don't block the time; and certainly don't flex to find new time when something gets scheduled on top.
Also, just a super-fan of this company and their approach. When I signed up for the beta, they did an all-company call with me, a single user, to better understand my needs and how to integrate features that serve them.
I use this at love how it finds and books a lunch & "catch up" time for me. Without it people would trample all over my calendar leaving me on zoom for 9hrs/day. Cool product that helps prevent my day from being a mess.
I stumbled across this feature the other day and converted some habits I already had onto my calendar into Reclaim format. This is really useful because you can decide if it's OK to schedule over these or not. Time chunking is one of the most effective techniques to use to improve your productivity.
Thank you ReclaimAI
@kahrens_atl What's really cool about these habits we lay down is they make external scheduling less risky. For example, if you share a Calendly link with several different people you can be confident they can't all collectively eat up your day and prevent other important work from happening.
@kahrens_atl Another thing you may want to play with are the Time Defense settings we've opened up in these new Habits (under Advanced Settings on the edit screen for any Habit) -- basically lets you decide how aggressively you want Reclaim to flip those events to busy and lock them down. For Habits you're less intent on trying to complete every day, you can reduce the defense setting (and vice-versa). Try it out!
Very cool concept, but the limitation that it can only be used with Google calendars (without very convoluted workarounds) destroys the use case for me, and I suspect a lot of other people. Office 365 is going to have a lot more enterprise penetration.
@tkware I hear ya. It's definitely on our roadmap. If you want to be notified when it's released, just drop us a note at hello@reclaim.ai and we'll get you on the list.
I used to spend hours each week moving blocks of time around on my cal in the hopes of saving my sanity and gaining a bit of focus. Reclaim has automated this elegantly. It's honestly fun to see blocks for 'lunch' or 'deep work' adjust on the fly as you accept new meetings or move things around. It's quickly become an essential tool for getting things done.
@ppedrazzi thanks for all the feedback you've provided. It's been hugely helpful in getting Habits refined for the world. Looking forward to building more for you soon!
"Show me your calendar and your checkbook, and Iβll show you what your priorities are.β This quote has been attributed to many great men and women. It's also been stolen.
Regardless, the point is clear re: calendaring. If it's important, it needs to be scheduled. If it isn't, it's more hope than priority or goal.
Habits by Reclaim.ai helps ensure my priorities are *always* scheduled on my calendar. Physical therapy - check. Meditation - check. Checking email (instead of it running my life) - check. They are on my calendar because they are a priority, and Habits handles to ensure that is the case.
@meporter Thank you Matthew. It was actually your early feedback from one of our earlier launches that inspired us to built Habits. We wanted to give you more control over your day and you were telling us about all those important habits we could help you with. I'm glad we finally can!
Habits have been enormously helpful for my calendar. I use it to block out time for email, status updates, lunches, and exercise. It's been enormously helpful in helping me make my schedule both flexible and focused.
@jadeforrest fun fact: in researching what eventually became this Habits feature, we got inspiration from a trick Jade did where he put publicly visible time blocks down called βpebblesβ that he used to work on email and other misc work. That is the βCatch Upβ habit in Reclaim π
I've been using the tool for a while in order to manage a calendar that people on my team have called "hell". Reclaim is a tool that I've been very gun-ho on since I discovered it for personal <> work integrations -- since that time, it's become more and more effective for helping me defend time that I need to do accomplish my goals.
"Habits" is one of those improvements that lets me ensure availability to catch up on email, eat lunch (what a concept!!), and just make sure that I'm not underwater on a regular basis. The slack integration's capabilities just provide additional insight and functionality above the core capabilities.
Those guys are doing amazing. Not only the product is terrific but the team behind is super friendly and helpful. It's a bit overwhelming at first to understand how Reclaim works and onboard, but once you have understood the logic, this tool is simply amazing. I am still learning but it really helps me a lot to boost productivity. Keep it up guys!
My work life balance in general has never been good for me, I've been trying to fix it for quite some time now, but with the COVID situation started looking into how could I regain control of my calendar. There is no easy solution for that, as your calendar keeps being fluid, there is no fixed time that you can book to have lunch, exercise and do homework with the kids.
Found on Reclaim the tool that helps me never miss my personal time, gain control of my dad day as well as my work day. And it also reminds me that I need to exercise, some time between 8pm and 10pm every other day :)
@albertogomez Thank you so much for sharing. I also have kids at home and like you and many others, life has become crazy. I've been building Reclaim partly for myself, to help bring balance to this new reality.
This has been incredibly valuable for me to block the time I need to make sure I'm keeping my commitments and not over-committing myself. I've been able to create some blocks to better balance my work-family life, but I also use this to make sure I'm spending the right amount of time on my priorities and to block the necessary working time to prepare for big meetings or presentations.
@nick_hill_2416 thanks! We've been really excited to see all the folks from Khoros sign up and just had a great chat with @philippe_mesritz yesterday. Y'all have been such an awesome group for getting feedback.
If you were to rank my baseline skepticism of productivity tools in a 1-10 scale, I would be a solid 20. But then the Reclaim.ai folks came along with their easy to use tools and my whole world changed. First I started looking forward (really counting on) my morning and afternoon catchups and now I can dynamically make time for all my important habits with a simple toggle switch - you owe it to yourself to give reclaim.ai (and habits) a shot.
@kapurgyan Awesome. I do something similar: I have a "family walk" habit that I copy my wife on, so she and I can always be in sync on when the best time I can join her and the kids to get out of the house and walk around the neighborhood.
