Recent File Picker for macOS - Quick access to recent files

Recent puts your recent files right in the notch area of your Mac for instant and convenient access. Simply choose which folders you’d like to track, and quickly reach your files by moving your mouse toward the notch at the top of your Mac’s display.

Hey everyone! 👋
Super excited to share this little project with you all. I frequently struggle to dig up recent downloads or screenshots from my messy folders. Recent File Picker solved that problem for me by simply displaying a couple of the most recent files from a set of defined folders.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Select folders such as Downloads, Desktop, or any custom folder you’d like monitored.

  2. Instead of painstakingly searching for files, simply hover your mouse near the notch, and your most recent files instantly appear for quick access.

🎁 FREE VERSION

Recent File Picker is free forever, with full access to one folder of your choice. Pick any folder to track and have your latest files ready at your fingertips.

🤑 UNLIMITED VERSION

Unlock unlimited folders with a single, one-time purchase. Monitor as many folders as you want, and access all your recent files directly from your Mac’s notch.

I hope it’s helpful to some—and maybe even sparks a bit of joy along the way. Would love to hear what you think!

Brilliant use of the notch! 🚀 Does it work seamlessly with multiple monitors, or does the cursor need to return to the MacBook screen?

@desmond_ren1 Thanks a lot! Currently, it prefers the built-in screen if available. I'm working on more flexible solutions to support different setups in an upcoming release 💪

Awesome launch! This looks really promising—especially UI and animation. Looking forward to future updates!

I love it! But there's one annoying bug. Whenever I switch tabs in Chrome, it keeps opening the recent file picker. Would be great to find a way to fix this

@denisss Hey, I’d love to hear more about this. Are you using Chrome in full-screen mode? Ideally, you could send a screenshot or screen recording of the issue via the "Send feedback"-action listed in the app’s settings. I’ll do my best to resolve it ASAP! 🙌
