This is so cool! Love that it is made in Wales. Good show!

This is awesome! I wrote about building your own Chromecast / AppleTV with RPi 2 (http://jes.al/2015/09/building-a...). Would be interesting to see how well something like that would work with a $5 version.

I recently worked with the Pi for the first time... and while I know I'm late to the party, these are fantastic! So much cool little stuff to do at such a low price 😎

I love the idea of this and I'll surely get one but I find the $5 advertised price a bit disingenuous. In Australia at any of the resellers you're looking at $20-30 for it.

Being based in Wales I struggle with the tech scene... seems I work for a company on the front of the tech startup curve but yet I live in an area and surrounded by a lot of people who are way behind it. Little gems like Raspberry Pi being made in Wales puts a little shimmer of hope in me...

@bentossell well, I think it's settled. Hong Kong is the place for you, Ben! :-)

Anyone knows how it works? Can we add external hardware to it? Can we hack the hardware itself?
Luka
Hopefully this leads to a hardware revolution that can catch up the software revolution!

Ah, the joys of living in the UK. $5 in the US (so I figure about £3?) - nope, £8-£10 (~$14). Yet the product is manufactured here in the UK..
Hash Milhan
@adamowenit not sure where you're getting those prices. it's £4 in the UK. (out of stock obviously) http://thepihut.com/collections/... £4 without the SD card -

This little investment can literally turn anything into SMART. It's a gem for DIY people. Time to forget about things like Chromecast and similar stuff.

Now the question is...what do we build?

What kinds of things can you do with this? Could you use it the same way you use a basic cpu? Sorry kinda new to the product.
Leo Moravtchik
Do anyone know if someone is selling it as a bundle with all the necessary things to make it "ready to run" ? I.E. Adapters of sorts to fit your usual gear? I want to know how much that'll run for. Thanks!
Daniel Blackburn
@moravtchik The Pi Hut sell an essentials kit : http://thepihut.com/products/ras... The main issue with the zero for a lot of issues is the lack of wifi. You can add it of course but with only 1 USB port you're soon messing around with usb hubs. Also check out the CHIP (the $9 computer), that has wifi on board. Availability is also an issue there though.

Hey Guys, Great product for Educational and all my DIY purposes. Good to see so many iterations of Raspberry Pi. Really gives a wide variety to pick from.
