Hey PH, Today, we are announcing the release of Quadratic Multiplayer! This launch brings real-time multiplayer to Quadratic, the spreadsheet for developers. Since initially sharing our brand new spreadsheet Quadratic on PH, we’ve accumulated roughly 2,500 stars on our GitHub repo, had 35k user sign-ups, and launched huge features like charts/graphs, enhanced Python support, AI code assist, and much more. Today, we’re stoked to share our launch of multiplayer features in Quadratic. 🖱️ Active Cursors: real-time movement of selection cursors and mouse pointers 💁 User Following: follow your teammates as they work or show off their insights 🎮 User Presence: easily view, add, and remove editors with varying permissions Since our last PH release we also shipped: 📈 Charts via Plotly (and soon Matplotlib support as well) 🏎️ 100k + rows of performance without skipping a beat (now built with majority Rust! 🦀) 🐍 Improved Python support 🤖 AI assistant: ask questions of the AI with context on your spreadsheet for code suggestions 🖼️ A large gallery of example sheets We believe data analysis is a team sport and can’t wait for you to see what it’s like to explore data analysis in real-time with your friends and colleagues. We’ve put up a couple of public spreadsheets for anyone to jump in and play with alongside other PH community members. Sheet 1: app.quadratichq.com/file/538d1a3f-a760-497a-822f-96c617e6f92f Sheet 2: app.quadratichq.com/file/aed26b13-84c2-436b-810a-b8d3713d701f We’re extremely grateful for any and all engagement and feedback, and are thrilled to continue sharing our journey with the Product Hunt community. ❤️ Let us know what you think! How could you use Quadratic? What do you love / hate about it?

Absolutely thrilled to see Quadratic's launch of the Multiplayer feature! It's an innovative step for spreadsheets, especially for those of us in data science and development. Your blend of Python support, AI integration, and real-time collaboration is groundbreaking. We're eager to feature Quadratic on Opendigg(https://www.opendigg.com/) to highlight its unique capabilities. Congratulations on the impressive milestones achieved since your PH debut. Quadratic is reshaping how teams interact with data in the browser, and I can't wait to dive into the multiplayer experience with our community!

Wow, I'm hearing of Quadratic for the first time and absolutely love the idea! I'll definitely check it out - a quick feedback i already have: What is your pricing? Or is the service totally free? I'm asking because I usually go directly to the pricing page of new tools to assess whether it's realistic for me to even try it out. If your service is free, maybe you can create a pricing page and just state there that it's free? Or include the information in some other way prominently on the website?
David Kircos
@lrueger Hey Lukas, Quadratic is currently free. We will begin charging for Quadratic Teams in a few months, which is a space to organize your files similar to Notion and Figma. We will continue to have a free version of the product, but it may have some limits on how much you can share files without being associated with a paid team. Quadratic will always remain free for individual use.

This is such an underrated product. Building collaborative tools is very hard, and it seems like you've done a decent job here. Congrats!

Thanks for the kind words @zignis

Ever thought about having a different type of tab, like a rich text editor, that can read (only) the data from the other sheets? That'd make an easy way to build out a readable/printable report based upon the charts/data generated in the sheets. I'd love to be able to do complex analysis, then pull that into a real time summary report that is human readable without having to navigate cells.

Awesome and very useful product. Where is the data stored asking from data governance perspective. Also, how do you guarantee availability.
David Kircos
@tintin007k Security and availability are our highest priorities in the long run. User data is stored in an encrypted S3 bucket on Amazon Web Services. Later this year, we are working on SOC II compliance to increase user data security.
