I own a purple. My first hand experience is that it is a great mattress; probably the best I've ever owned. It took a day or two for it to expand from the packaging. Now when I travel and sleep on different mattresses I just long for my purple. They also have a great support team. We had an issue when ours arrived and they sorted out our problem lickety split. 5 thumbs up

@tomfrazier did you consider the Leesa or Helix? I'm literally in the middle of shopping for a mattress.
@trevin I did. I felt the story of purple and their fun marketing was a good fit for me. Have a read of their about us page
@_jacksmith there was a water stain due to an issue at a shipping center. They replaced the entire mattress within a week. Boom!

@llumiaho The biggest difference you'll find in Purple is we don't use memory foam or latex! Memory foam can break down really quickly and and start to cradle you in a hammock like position, which is hard on your back! It also sleeps hot, where Purple is temperature neutral! We use premium high-density foams and all of our foam is certified by CertiPUR-US® as well. :)
The foam is topped with 2" of Purple that won't break down! It is laid out in a grid that will cradle your pressure points while supporting everything else. :)
@shimmb I'm mostly surprised that they seem to be getting more, rather than less expensive in the process.
Who decided raw eggs are an appropriate model for the human body? Our tissues aren't remotely similar to egg shells... I've never heard of this test before, and a quick Google only shows it in the context of this company, and people questioning it.
@shimmb I have no idea... and completely agree. BUT many people won't do the research behind it.
"Raw Egg Test" = 🤑
But I do want to try it. Who knows, maybe it does work? Definitely need some more reviews though. (IMO)
@as_austin Found various videos in which people replicated the test on supposedly bad mattresses, e.g.
@shimmb The idea is if a bed can cradle raw eggs while supporting all that weight, it can also cradle your pressure point while supporting the rest of your body. :) Thanks for the interest in Purple!
@madi_riggs that's pure speculation. Where's the evidence that there is any correlation between the two, or that this leads to better sleep / comfort / less pain?
Leesa, Helix, Purple, Casper, Tuft, Needle. With so many mattress startups out there, just hoping the space doesn't turn out to be a dud or a bubble. Purple has definitely been marketed well - look forward to listening to customer stories.

My friend is a chiropractor and he referred to this as "sleeping in the hands of Jesus" ... He tried Ghost bed or casper and in his opinion it did not hold a candle.

@katesegrin I don't really remember. I read it was "softer" then the other ones. Plus I think I had a coupon. Was a while ago :)
@katesegrin FWIW, Consumer Reports just did a big review of mattresses including most of the companies mentioned here (except Purple sadly). As I recall, Casper topped their particular ratings. Still I'd love to know how Purple compares.
@ryanthejenks thanks! That's super helpful :) Purple's got some other products that I'm going to try out and see how I like em, then extrapolate to see if if a mattress made of the stuff would be amazing or not.

I am a mattress blogger with no affiliate relationship with Purple.

Great video! I am thinking of getting a purple mattress in the nearest future. Just need to save a little more cash and waiting for some discounts on https://mattressive.com/. Hopefully it is going to happen soon.
