In July 2022, we launched Protocode, a SaaS platform designed to let you code, run, and test a web app directly in the cloud. User feedback was very promising, but one thing kept coming up: it was a bit... tricky to set up. So, we iterated for over a year to design a version that’s much easier to adopt and use on a daily basis. Here’s what’s new: 👀 Instant access, no sign-up required – From the homepage, you can launch a project, explore the interface, code, test, and even save your work—for free. Thinking about spinning up a WordPress or PrestaShop project? Now’s the time. 💄 Full UX/UI overhaul – We rethought everything to simplify navigation, automate where it makes sense, and streamline the messaging. 🪄 AI-assisted setup – Just give it your code, and it takes care of the rest: Dockerfile, Docker Compose, app initialization, selecting the right Protocode options, launching prebuild processes—you name it. 🔛 Preference sync – Our new Visual Studio Code extension, Protocode Sync, lets you sync your themes, preferences, shortcuts, and even terminal aliases with Protocode, so everything just works, friction-free. 📚 Completely redesigned docs – Simpler, more complete, loaded with screenshots and video tutorials. 🐙 DevContainer support – Got a project already set up with a devcontainer.json file? Protocode now supports it out of the box.

We switched to Protocode in January 2024 for the complete redesign of our website, Tomplanmytrip.com. We carried out the entire development of the new site on this platform for almost a year before launching the new version.

It's truly a great tool that allowed us to collaborate effectively as a team. We were also able to run all our tests before going live, which was very reassuring.

Very satisfied, we’re still using it for the new features we continue to develop on our site.

As my associate Adrien mentioned, we used Protocode to test and improve the new version of our website, as well as to develop a plugin for generating itineraries. There were four of us working on it in great synergy. It allowed us to check how our 2.0 site functioned before going live. Awesome!
