been using early versions of this product and two things stand out: first, features that "just work" like using media natively (resizes correctly), etc that old software built around text and a stock photo fail to do gracefully. Second, thinking about publishing as not just standard slides but slides plus instagram plus document embedding plus....
IANAD (I am Not a Designer) but Projector makes me feel like I'm a step closer. Plus, Projector minimizes a lot of the fiddly nonsense in other tools. Love it!
Congrats Projector team, really excited to see this up here. 👏🏽 The one thing that impressed me most about Projector was the small and thoughtful details that empower and gently educate people on what makes an engaging and effective story. The default ‘notes mode’ nudges users to take the time to craft a narrative, the smart styling between typographic elements encourages visual consistency in order to follow the narrative, and the integrated content libraries point to the value of including rich content. Beaut.
Looking forward to seeing Projector grow to even greater heights.
I LOVE this product! Wow. Fantastic job. Are you legit a free product? Do you have plan for that to change in the future? Or do you have a corporates/paid plan with extra features? Just curious, because I would LOVE to bring this tool to my Content Marketing team. Thank you!
Hi there! 👋🏻
I hope you all are having a lovely Tuesday. 🙂
I’m super excited to be writing today to introduce you all to Projector 📽, a real-time collaborative design platform built for visual storytelling. With Projector, you and your team can create videos, GIFs, social media graphics, presentations, PDFs, and more. And you can do it all with your favorite content catalogs at your fingertips: Unsplash, Giphy, Google Fonts, and the Noun Project.
We know the creative process can be messy and painstaking, and our team has worked hard to put together a set of flexible tools that lets you work the way you wanna work. Whether you’re putting together a social media campaign, a quick demo video, or a pitch deck, Projector’s creative tools have you covered. Sharing a portfolio or creative pitch and looking for feedback? Projector offers a published view to showcase your work and start a conversation with comments.
For the past few months, a small group of early adopters have been creating and sharing stories in Projector. We’ve seen amazing things made by the XOXO community, by people at companies like Airbnb and Invision, and by students at Northwestern, where we’re running a pilot program.
We want you to be part of that early community!
Starting today, we’re opening up sign ups to Projector for a limited time. No waitlist. Just immediate access to Projector. And you’ll also get a handful of invites you can share with friends and teammates in case they miss the open signup period. Here's the URL to sign up! https://projector.com/signup
We can’t wait for you to try Projector and let us know what you think. We’re excited to see what you’ll make! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
@tmobrien Projector looks awesome, grab my upvote! How about an interview about it at StartupRadius.com? Send me an email to Paul(at)StartupRadius.com if interested!
I've been fortunate enough to get early access to Projector and I cannot say enough about how great the product is.
I'm definitely not a designer, but their tools make it really easy to create and present beautiful stories.
Excited to see the growth and what's next.
I just signed up to give Projector a spin and I can already see myself sharing more things on social media. I hate using productivity tools on my phone so I'm happy I have a solid external option to build stories and tweet images on my computer.
The product is very polished and well thought-out. Every time I reached out for a given feature, I was able to find it exactly where I thought it would be (text styling, and export options really shine here).
Well done, Projector!
@mikael_gramont1 Thank you, Mikaël!!! We really appreciate you testing out Projector and sharing such kind words! We're going to keep making it better for you!
Very excited to see @tmobrien and team bring Projector to the world. Creating rich, visual presentations is messy - gathering everything from a variety of different places, bringing it all together and iterating with your team takes time and effort. I love how projector makes it rather easy to do all 👆🏽. Congratulations Projector team!
Really easy to use this product. Was lucky enough to get an early invite and the amount of polish the easily adds to my presentations makes me feel more confident as a presenter. Really enjoyed using this to build presentations 😀
I think this is going to be a very special product. In particular, as a marketer, I need to be able to post designer-quality work across multiple channels all the time even though I'm not a designer by training. Projector will be my answer for that :)
@camillejricketts Thank you, Camille! I read this three times it made me so happy :-) Please send us all your feedback! We want to make Projector great for you!
Really proud to be a long time supporter of Projector. I’ve known Jeremy and Trevor for years and what their team is building over at Projector is really transformative to how we communicate and share our best ideas. Can't wait to see all the impact this great company will make!
@lindsay_fuce Amazing to hear that - thanks for checking out Projector, Lindsay! Anything in particular that hooked you? Really excited to have you aboard!
Your platform sounds interesting, but 10 minutes later, I still can't find any examples on your websites, no Youtube channel on your website showing how it works. Is it something like Paste by WeTransfer?
@rafaelmacho thanks for checking us out! You can find a tutorial video here: http://bit.ly/projector-tutorial and there are dozens of example stories in an inspiration gallery when you first log in.
What type of communication are you looking to create? I can send you some examples here too using our publish views.
@kaite Thanks for sending those. I looked in the past for different solutions, and I wanted something simple and fast to use to send documented bids to clients (I am a motion graphics art director). I looked into a lot, then I chose Paste by WeTransfer. But it has it's limitation for my own branding, such as the typography choice,=. I would love to be able to upload and use my fonts and just put some simple branding as a jpg or a SVG. I don't care much about animated GIFs, they're distracting to me.
@kaite@rafaelmacho Thank you for the thoughtful feedback, Rafael! Please give it a try and let us know what you think. I'd love to chat more to hear about what's working for you and what still needs to improve. You can email me at trevor@projector.com with any thoughts!
