New changes in the UX/UI Product Hunt notification bar – How do you like it?
Today, new changes to the UX and UI in the Product Hunt notification window also showed up on my desktop.
I need a month or so to acclimate to the changes, but in this case, it seems like I'll get used to it pretty quickly – the UI/UX looks pretty intuitive.
Changes I really like:
Preview of several notifications after clicking the bell.
Ability to mark notifications as "All read" in the main notification window.
Notification of who upvoted my Thread.
If I follow a certain category (e.g. Figma), I will receive a notification that someone has contributed to a Thread in that category.
I also noticed that I received more notifications than usual – from a marketing perspective, it can make it seem like you're in demand. 😀
What would I welcome?
I remember that in the older notification method, I also had the option to directly vote for a comment (reply) in the notification window by pressing the "Upvote" button – this made it easier for me to interact directly in one tab. At the moment, I solve it by opening the convo in a new tab.
How do you perceive this change?
Here are some examples on the desktop of the new UX/UI:

Whoa, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw 58 notifications pop up! 😅 Turns out it was just past notifications marked as unread after the update. Not a massive change though—I got used to it right away.

@rani_zagita Yes, I felt like: OMG :D So many people reacted to my posts :D but it turned out that notifications need to be marked as "Resolved".
I like these new changes, but sometimes when I clicked on a notification, the number of unread notifications doesn't decrease, so I just directly mark all as read. I also just noticed a new change - each discussion page can show the number of views.

@feliciana_liu yes, I also noticed that yesterday (that views). Re: Notifications – yes, if this one is you interacted with – it could be good to have it as "already read" automatically.
@busmark_w_nika Agree! Auto-marking as "read" would definitely make things smoother—especially when you're clicking through multiple notifications quickly.

@feliciana_liu Agree, now, I need to open each notification in a new tab to make sure I replied :D
