Product Timelines is a resource and reference (for product managers, developers, designers, VCs, and anyone else who geeks out on products) about what successful products have looked like, both at launch and beyond.
I love how intuitive this is. One thing that sticks out to me is the fact that the Burbn stage of Instagram is missing. I’m looking forward to Spotify’s backstory.
Great work!
I really like the idea. This industry is so blood young and putting it in retrospective is essential to a new generation of founders. Thanks and good work 👏👏👏
@pratik_shetty this would make my life a LOT easier. Worried about data integrity though...I'd have to figure out how to approve edits first. Thanks for the feedback!
@devongt : If you are building out an API for this or you plan to crowd-source it like a wiki, do let me know. I was interested in building what you just built for VideoWiki - https://www.videowikipedia.org/ .
We could figure something out together :)
@hermes - a combination. data was much more difficult to gather at the beginnings of the timelines. most startups (especially the older ones) didn't have a nice product-centric blog set up in the early days. going forward, data collection is much more automated, but still includes some hand curation to link videos, optimize headlines, determine what's 'important' enough to include, etc.
@rrhoover thanks Ryan. Others in the queue are Pinterest, Stripe, Dropbox, Robinhood, Lyft, and Hulu. Let me know if there are any others you're particularly interested in though!
