Coughvid — Help screen COVID-19 by recording your cough

With the new artificial intelligence-based Coughvid app, developed by five researchers at EPFL’s Embedded Systems Laboratory (ESL), you can record your cough on a smartphone and find out whether you might have COVID-19.

This type of thing is so dangerous. For a start.. how many other people "fake coughed" just to test it, which will now screw up the AI from detecting genuine COVID-19 coughs. Secondly... what the hell is a COVID-19 cough? There is nothing that says a cough from having COVID-19 is any different to coughing because you have a cold, or because you swallowed water the wrong way. Crazy.

The description seems misleading, or I misunderstood. I thought that based on my cough (I fake coughed to test it) it would tell me whether or not I have the virus, but it just says "thank you"!

@footer It looks like at the moment they're gathering COVID-19 coughs and from that data intending to be able to help screen actual uncertain cases!
