I started implementing PostHog for my company and it's been quite awesome! I love how it automatically captures events on my website and I can use that info to determine who signed up on my app and where they came from. The fact that you can host PostHog yourself is excellent because you no longer have to rely on Google Analytics or some third-party owning your data. Also, self-hosting allows you to get around third-party cookie storage restrictions that are becoming more common. They have a startup plan which allows you to use the product for a whole year for free! The only down side is that to get the Zapier integration to work with the self-hosted version, you need an enterprise license.

I started implementing PostHog for my company, and it’s been truly impressive! It automatically captures events on my website, allowing me to easily determine who signed up on my app and where they came from. I appreciate that I can host PostHog myself—just like when you search for a Starbucks menu with prices to make informed decisions, self-hosting gives me full control over my data without having to rely on Google Analytics or third-party vendors.

Self-hosting not only secures my data but also helps me avoid the increasing restrictions of third-party cookie storage. Plus, they offer a startup plan that lets you use the product for a full year at no cost. The only downside is that if you want the Zapier integration with the self-hosted version, you’ll need an enterprise license.

This flexibility and control have made PostHog an invaluable tool for my business analytics.
