👋 Hey Product Hunt! I’m Ayush, Co-Founder and CTO of Portkey AI We're very excited to introduce Portkey's Prompt Engineering Studio on Product Hunt After seeing teams struggle with inconsistent prompt performance and scattered tooling, we built the solution prompt engineers have been waiting for. Today we're launching the world's most advanced prompt engineering toolkit at prompts.new 🚀 Why we built this: Working with AI models requires precision in prompting, but existing solutions leave teams guessing with slow, manual processes and no version control. What makes our Portkey’s Prompt Studio special: - Powerful playground with side-by-side model comparison - Test across 1600+ AI models instantly - Version control with labeled deployments - Collaborative prompt libraries - Mustache templating and reusable partials - A-powered prompt optimization - Native support for LangGraph, CrewAI and other agent frameworksI Our platform helps teams craft, optimize, and deploy AI prompts 75% faster, from experimentation to production. We've put a lot care into building Portkey, and we really hope you like the product ! Check it out at prompts.new and let us know what you think! P.S. we call the IDE for Prompt Engineers

Launching soon!

@ayush_garg_xyz Portkey’s Prompt Studio solves so many pain points like side-by-side model comparison, version control, and AI-powered optimization. Congrats on the launch

Jonathan

@ayush_garg_xyz Do you support APIs for data import as part of the prompt eval process?

Anas Turki

@ayush_garg_xyz Finally, a proper toolkit for prompt engineers! Working with AI models has always felt a bit like trial and error, so having a dedicated studio with version control and real testing tools is a game-changer. Love the focus on collaboration too

Vrushank Vyas

@ayush_garg_xyz  @jontronic Hey Jonathan, no that is not supported at the moment - we are building a better Evals feature on top of this now.

Vrushank Vyas

@ayush_garg_xyz  @anas_turki Thank you Anas!

Harkirat Singh

This looks amazing @vrv18 and @ayush_garg_xyz ! Love how Portkey streamlines prompt engineering with powerful comparisons and collaboration.

How does your version control system handle prompt iterations? Can teams see performance changes over time and easily roll back to the best-performing versions?

Vrushank Vyas

@ayush_garg_xyz  @harkirat_singh3777 Thank you Harkirat! We don't have a polished evals product right now - you can run tests on prompts with our API but not in the UI. However, of course all prompt iterations are versioned and you can rollback, use any of the versions easily.

Vrushank Vyas

Very excited to launch Portkey's Prompt Engineering Studio today. We have helped hundreds of companies to move their complex prompting workflows to Portkey and radically supercharge their iteration and deployment times.

There is one company that manages publications across 700 websites through Portkey's prompt platform -and this is just the tip of the iceberg!

Please check it out and tell us if you have feedback!

Just head to https://prompt.new to experience this

Jonas Urbonas

I love how Portkey's Prompt Studio simplifies the process of managing and refining prompts, making it easier for teams to test and optimize in one place. How does the platform ensure that teams of all technical backgrounds can effectively use the tool without feeling overwhelmed?

Siddharth Sambharia

Hey @jonurbonas, glad you liked the product!

Prompt Engineering Studio makes it super simple for people from all backgrounds to work with their prompts. This is possible because unlike conventional way where you keep your prompts inside your codebase, prompt library allows you to detach it and manage them on a simple intuitive UI.

Allowing people from Product Managers to engineers to collaborate simply on on unified platform to manage, test and deploy your prompts

Portkey is an essential technology in the LLM/GenAI stack. We struggled to find a stable LLM proxy system to run on a serverless architecture since lamatic.ai is fully serverless. We were so desperate that we even considered building a solution ourselves. Then @ayush_garg_xyz introduced us to Portkey, and it completely transformed our situation. Describing it as merely useful would be an understatement; it's a must-have. We definitely need more open-source and serverless technologies for GenAI. I do have some suggestions for improvement: 1. Provide an API or documentation portal for available model support; currently, we have to manually test each model. 2. Include the option to add custom providers or methods. 3. Implement usage monitoring via the API. 4. Support multi-tenancy. Congratulations to the team on the launch, looking forward to growing together.
Vrushank Vyas

@ayush_garg_xyz  @amanintech Thanks so much Aman for your comment. We are also a fan of what you're building at Lamatic!

Onto your suggestions:
1 - This is a must have, and is coming soon to Portkey
2 - Thi s is already supported! Check out https://portkey.ai/docs/integrations/llms/byollm and https://portkey.ai/docs/api-reference/inference-api/gateway-for-other-apis
3 - This is supported on app.portkey.ai as well
4 - We have released an update for this as well, and you can create multiple Portkey workspaces inside a single org.

Vrushank Vyas

@kay_arkain So glad that you liked it! Thank you

Andrew White

i always keep my best prompts in the notebook. by now there are 100s of them and it's actually a pain trying to find the one i need at the right time. thanks for making this product! will check it out. and well done with the launch!

Vrushank Vyas

@andrew_white_13 oh this is exactly why we built the studio. Glad you like it, and happy to help you move your prompts if needed!

Sam @CRANQ

This tool is a dream for AI teams (maybe even mine), love the collaborative editing & the playground to test everything before deployment.

Had wayyy too many run-ins with trial-and-error chaos...And w/ integration for (I didn't even realise there were this many) 1600 models, kinda like it’s a powerhouse.

Excited to see how teams put this to work - Best of luck today!!

nikhil kanda

Hey @cranqnow really appreciate that! We built this to cut through the trial-and-error chaos, so it's awesome to hear it resonates. And yeah, 1600+ models—definitely a powerhouse⚡ Would love to hear how your team puts it to work.

Tutu Y

it's helped me a lot

nikhil kanda

Hey@tutu_y we're so glad to hear it’s been helpful to you!

Nikhil Mishra

Congrats on the launch! Impressive how thoughtfully you've tackled every aspect of AI development be it collaboration on prompts, version management, testing across models, and more. The demo video is also clear and easy to follow. Wishing you all the best! 🚀

Vrushank Vyas

@nikhil_mishra7 That was the idea! Glad that it resonated so well with you Manish. Thanks!

Lylia Djait-Paulien

Is this more for system prompts or can be used for general users so they know how to ask better questions?

Siddharth Sambharia

hey @lylia_djaitpaulien great question! you can play with both system prompt as well as user prompts in portkey playground. you can also use prompt variables inside your prompt to get your user's context

Pranav Goyal

Been using Portkey for a coupe of years now and the new prompt engineering studio has been a perfect match to write and iterate prompts at scale. Excited for the launch, lightspeed!

Vrushank Vyas

@prrranavv Thank you so much Pranav for your feedback and suggestions so far! They have been instrumental in building the Prompt Studio.

Prashanth HN

Having used this product in last two weeks I can say this is one of the best no-nonsense AI tool I have used recently. It really saves so much time to iterate over prompts, models and combinations of it. Previously I used to setup everything on a jupyter notebook and iterate over there, but this is way better! Especially when you are collaborating with others in team! All the best to the PortKey team!

nikhil kanda

Hello @hnp really appreciate that! We’ve designed this to remove the friction—so teams can focus on iteration, not setup. The goal was to make AI workflows seamless and collaborative. Excited to see how it continues to shape your process!

Dmitry Zakharov
Hi guys! Is it like no code platform for AI agents?
Vrushank Vyas

@dmitry_zakharov_ai Hey! Not exactly - you can not really build full fledged agentic workflows in UI here. This is more for prompt storage, management, versioning, templating, and then being able to use those in production.

Dmitry Zakharov
@vrv18 ah, I see! Thank you!
Artem Konovalov 💎

Just what I needed to streamline my workflow! This studio is going to save me so much time and headache when working with AI prompts. Can't wait to dive in and explore all the features!

nikhil kanda

Hi@mattisssa love the excitement! 🎉 We built the studio to turn workflow headaches into smooth sailing, and it’s amazing to hear it’s already making a difference, this is ready for you to dive deeper and discover all the hidden gems! Can’t wait to see how you unlock more potential

Alan Rivera

This is awesome I've been toying around with different prompts and models to get the best results for @Snippfy and this could really help and since I allow the users to also feed in their own prompts it might be something worth to have as a link of useful resources so they can try out their prompt and see if it's the best it can be!

Vrushank Vyas

@alan_rivera Oh that's a pretty nice use case! Would you invite all users to try out the prompt studio?

Alan Rivera
@vrv18 I definitely can! Lets talk and see how we can integrate it!!

Launching soon!

🎉 @ayush_garg_xyz Huge congrats to the Portkey team on launching Prompt Engineering Studio! As an product lead of a AI Agent platform, this "IDE for prompt engineers" hits all the right notes – the 1600+ model comparison and Mustache templating? Absolute game-changer for cross-team collaboration! 🔥

The version control with labeled deployments is genius – no more digging through commit graveyards!

One suggestion: A live performance dashboard would be killer for spotting prompt drift during A/B tests. Also maybe expand the LangGraph integration docs? New teams might need more recipe-style guides.

P.S. Shared this with our prompt ops squad – planning to migrate our Frankenstein scripts to your workflow next sprint! Keep rocking those AI agent frameworks! 👾

Vrushank Vyas

@ayush_garg_xyz  @rocsheh Thanks so much Zepeng! Please DM me if you face any issues as you migrate! And you're absolutely right on having a performance dashboard based on Evals - we have this on our short term roadmap
