portfolo.app is a simple app for creating resumes and blogs using Markdown. I built it for anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed by the process of building a portfolio or just doesn't have the time to create one from scratch.
Hello Everyone, I'm Jack! π
Creator of portfolo.app.
This idea sprouted when I started picking up some freelance projects and realised I wanted a portfolio/resume to show my clients that wasn't just an overwhelming Git repo. Portfolo aims to help people get their work out there without wasting any time. This could be code READMEs, write-ups, or blogs. There really is no limit!
This project will be continuously worked on as I await user feedback to shape Portfolo in the way people want it!
Thanks,
Jack Sansom
congrats on the launch. portfolo seems to simplify a task that can indeed be overwhelming. i'm curious, how have you addressed the varying needs of creatives versus tech professionals, or is the flexibility of markdown your primary tool for customization?
@mashy It's something i'm learning and want to learn more about, but i think this will be targeted to people who can't / don't want to make a website. If you are a web developer then of course this tool would be redundant to you but other engineers or people in the tech space may want this for simplicity!
My longterm plan would be to have template option but also a JIT tailwind css editor for the dev's out there.
Markdown is only used for the content of your project, the creation of your landing page is just a template!
Congrats @sansjack on launching portfolo! Great idea turning portfolio creation into a streamlined process.
To the portfolo team: How do you ensure uniqueness and professionalism in the portfolios and blogs created?
Excited to see Portfolo's impact! π
Congrats on the launch of portfolo! π Your app is a brilliant solution for anyone looking to create resumes and blogs with ease using Markdown. The simplicity and efficiency of portfolo.app address the common challenge of building a portfolio from scratch.
Congrats on launching Portfolo! It's a great idea to have a simple, effective way to showcase all kinds of freelance work. Looking forward to seeing how it develops with feedback.
Hi! Congratulations on your launch! How customizable are the resumes and blogs in terms of design and layout? Also, are there any plans to integrate with other platforms or tools, like LinkedIn or GitHub, to make it easier to import existing content? Love the idea!
@kyrylosilin Hey Kyrylo, Thank you so much!
The customisability is fairly minimal currently but defiantly plan to make them a little bit more dynamic, but will need to find the sweet spot between minimal and customisable. Im hoping user feedback helps shape this!
Yes infact this is a feature i am currently working on!
@kyrylosilin yes, users can go do this from the dashboard by 2 ways:
1. Clicking "Request" on the top nav bar
2. heading to setting and clicking "Feature / Bug Form"
Love this tool!! It has all the essential features, and what I especially enjoy is the ability to choose themes. It would be even better if we could customize the theme colors ourselves! Perhaps you could consider supporting user-customized theme colors, allowing them to upload and share their creations with others!
@kiyaaa_ Definitely on the list! It was my original idea to allow fully customisable themes but priorities took over. Thank you for your input Kiya π
Congratulations on the launch of portfolo on Product Hunt! It's great to see a simple app for creating resumes and blogs using Markdown. This will definitely help those who struggle with building a portfolio from scratch. Excited to see how this app grows and evolves in the future!
Can you also use with this subscription multiple landing pages? Or just one landing page and multiple projects? I will maybe split it into different projects/ portfolios
@sgroiga It is currently just one domain and one portfolio per a subscription but maybe if this is a feature which people are keen to see then i will be happy to shape it this way!
